    Good morning everyone,

We had friends from up north visiting yesterday, Mrs shiney is teaching all day today (so I'm doing my usual cooking for them) and friends from down south visiting tomorrow.

July was the driest July (.27 inches) for donkeys years here as was June (.78 inches). The forecast is that we might possibly get some rain tomorrow which might affect the cricket on the village brown. :hehe:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Shiney and everyone,

    Shiney,do you get your info about your driest period from on the net or is it in your local village mag etc?I would love to know how my village county faired recently,although I think we have had a drop more of the wet stuff than down your way:yez:{New smiley?}

Enjoy your day with the class and your friends coming tomorrow.:thumb:We have been grocery shopping this morning and have just got back indoors and put the stuff away.It rained when we got there so had to run across the carpark and still got wet and then we just arrived home and it chucked it down again:p

Anyway, have a friend coming to see me on Monday{I will pick her up}as she is dying to see the two houses next door so need to go and get the house sorted ready for when she comes:D

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Hi Kandy,
Yes, it is in the village magazine. They put in a graph for the month's rainfall and the highs and lows for past years.

It's 24C out in the garden at the moment with no sun but quite bright.

Just going to serve dessert :gnthb:

Ooo, any dessert left for me Shiney? I'm ravenous!!

Afternoon all. What a fickle day it is here! Rain, sun, cloud, mugginess, all vying for supremacy! No ones winning yet, though I think the rain might have the edge!!:hehe:

Shiney, have a lovely weekend with your friends. Ohh and I meant to say the other day, Congratulations to Mrs Shiney for her awards!

Kandy, sounds like you've got a busy weekend ahead of you too! Have fun when your friend arrives. xx

Well, I'm not long back from popping over to Percy Throwers garden centre. I won't bore you all with the details (I've posted on the retailer feedback). But it was DIRE! I will not be returning!
Went onto another Garden and Leisure garden centre (one I use a lot) and had a much better time!! So I'm going to busy myself puttling about in my growhouse this afternoon.

I'm also getting very excited!! My son has been on holiday these last two weeks, and to say I've missed him, would be a understatement. He went to Florida with his best friend and his family. They invited son to go with them, which was lovely! Me and hub decided our little family jaunt in our caravan was a poor substitute, so have forgone our family jollies to send son away. And after all the blooming GCSE's he had to do (22 in all) we felt he deserved this holiday of a lifetime. Such a pity we couldn't have taken him ourselves, but funds wouldn't allow for that, so we sent him off with a wave and huge hug.
Well, anyway, I'm waffling on, but he's back tomorrow, and I can't flipping wait!! I am a very emotional girl at the best of times, and cry very easily, so think of me tomorrow afternoon, when I see my son again. If Shropshire have floods, you'll know why!

Have a great afternoon all. xxxxx

Hello friends , just a quickie as I am nearly asleep :ywn:
My son and his girlfriend came round today, then OH and I got stuck into the garden and after that we went to pick the little lad up and he is here for his first night! It seems so strange to have him here and I bet I won't sleep!
    Will catch up with everyone soon. Take care and enjoy the sunshine (it has been gorgeous here today}

    Good morning everyone,

Jazmine, I'm sure you will enjoy having the lad staying :thumb:. How long will he be with you? :)

Joolz, It sounds as though Percy Throwups was a waste of time :hehe:. Your son will have had a great time in Florida :gnthb:. Do you know whether he has done the theme parks? I suppose he will be coming back to his GCSE results as well. Good luck with them.

There is a steady light drizzle at the moment with a temperature of 20C. Yesterday got quite sticky in the afternoon but my neighbour came over and we picked a couple of barrow loads of lovely sweet golden greengages. He climbed our tree (I'm not allowed to climb it) and picked the bunches whilst I held up a bag on an 8ft pole for him to put them in. That way we can get the plums from 20ft up and is much safer for him :thumb:. He then took half of them for his mother who will freeze/preserve/bottle them.

I picked lots more blackberries and runner beans and the pears are nearly ready.

    Have a great day :D

He did Shiney, he did the lot I think. Disney World, Epcot, Universal, Dolphin swimming to name but a few. And yes, he gets his results on the 24th! EEEEEK!!

Love the ref about Percy Throwups, that's very, very apt!! It was chronic! Percy would be turning in his grave I think. :(

Sounds like you've had a great and productive weekend so far! We're waiting on our pears to ripen too. It's still a fairly young tree, but the crop this year, is better than last!! :thmb:

WiseOldOwl, would you mind coming over to mine and giving my patio a blast? There's a bacon butty in it for you!! :hehe:

    Good morning everyone,

Just popping in to say hi, i am going out to help Brad paint trim, and my planter boxes, its raining here, so no actual house painting today, and then we are off to the inlaws for my birthday dinner, and off to Toronto early in the morning, to drop off parts, and then hoping on the 401 to go across to London, for Kaits appointment at the College, go to see the new house again, and see exactly what comes with it, now that we need everything again, and then off to the storage unit to take some pics, our insurance agent wants some pics......we sat down and started adding up, and we are closer to 4000.00 that we lost!!

    Good morning everyone,

Hope you all slept well and looking forward to the start of another week:yez:

We have rain here again this morning but at least we managed to get over to the lottie yesterday afternoon to pick beans and the first of our plums and beetroot, and then got some weeding done, but it got quiet hot in the end over there and I forgot to take a hat with me:dh:

Going to pick my friend up this morning and then we will have lunch together here and then no doubt will spend the rest of the day chatting about our recent holidays etc.:yez:

Hope you all have a good one whatever you may be doing:)

    Good morning everyone,

It rained lightly but steadily all night after a hot and sunny day yesterday.

Kandy, I didn't think women could spend all day chatting  :hehe: :rotfl:

As it is wet out there I think that I will spend all day doing paperwork and trying to get my office tidy - not a hope of doing that :hehe: :hehe:

    Have a great day :D
