    Evening all :o
Hi Penny, just you and me!
My mum was rushed into hospital yesterday but has been allowed out this afternoon thank goodness. She has a heart fribrillation problem and it went haywire so they took her in and wired her up and put drips in etc. They eventually got it in a better rhythm and let her home. We went to see her this evening. Oh my goodness what a week or two I have had here.Touch wood Mat seems ok at the moment.
I am absolutely exhausted with it all

I hope the poorly members get better soon, it's awfully lonely in here :flwsml:

    Good morning everyone,

I just typed out a long message and hit the wrong key by accident and lost it all :dh:. So this will have to be brief.

We're just back from a fabulous week in the Lake District with great weather :gnthb:.

Loads to catch up on so haven't had time to read back through the thread. I hope all of you are OK and if you aren't so well I wish you lots better. :luv:

I may not be on GC much for a while as I have so much to do.

Yesterday morning I had boxes of files delivered which are the entries for the area Business Awards. It is a bit like the Oscars. There are 14 categories (Business of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Customer Service etc) which businesses can enter, and I'm in charge of judging.
With one group of judges I have to plough through thousands of pages of paperwork in order to shortlist them to the finalists in each category - which I started yesterday and will go on all week.
Then, when we have the finalists in each category I have to appoint judges for them and they have to go to each business to inspect them and ask loads of questions. These businesses can be anything from a one man band to a multinational.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the end of October.
The Ceremony will also be a dinner dance with a celebrity compere and celebrity entertainment. There will also be some charity fundraising done. Tickets cost £65 each

I picked 20lb of runner beans yesterday and will sell them at the club this afternoon. :thumb:

    Have a great day :D

Morning everyone and those who pop in later. Shiney have you got your hands full? I would offer to come and help you but knowing me you would be in a mess after I had finished..:dh:

I hope you enjoy your time in Toronto Penny. Woo it's "nice to see you, to see you nice" now who said that?

We had a lovely evening round sons house, we were treated to a takeaway as a birthday thanks to OH. It was lovely. I am here this morning and it looks pleasant outside.

Good morning penny, woo and everyone. 0)

Woo, it sounds as though you are going to be busy. In your spare time, do you want to pop over here and do some fence painting? :hehe:

A little grub screw has fallen out of the lock on the bathroom door and disappeared . I tried to get a new one from Wickes, where I bought the door furniture, but they don't do them and neither do B & Q or Homebase :(. I'll check with Screwfix next and hope for the best.

I'm gradually working my way through the entries for the Awards. It's all interesting reading but tedious.

    Have a great day :D

    Good Morning Friends :luv:

Mr. Woo you are very organised preparing your winter baskets, I have just started emptying mine. I did ask OH to help but he had to go out

Hope you enjoy your weekend Penny.

Shiney I cannot believe you turned down my offer of help! There I was all geared up for a weekend away :hehe:

Here is a photo of the Norfolk Broads, my aunties chalet was down on the righthand side- it was a beautiful spot and we had a lovely time with them. I have some very silly photos but I don't think I will post them!!

Good morning everyone on this glorious sunny day, :gnthb:

I was up until 4 a.m. working on the paperwork (Jazmine, I don't think you would have lasted that late :hehe:) and started again at 6.30. Another day or two to finish this stage. Then I will have to oversee the final stages of judging which will be spread over the next month.

We're off to the big city today to see a niece who is leaving to work in Hong Kong for some time. I hope the Pope will have the good grace to not interfere with my travel arrangements up there. I won't be using my pope-mobile so may get diverted around the busy areas. :hehe:

    Enjoy your weekend. :thumb:

    Have a great day :D
