    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, I didn't need the headboard as we got a new one three years ago for £40. It is a lovely padded one - reminds me of the padded room I get put in every so often. :hehe:

I didn't get to Barry yesterday as I was having trouble with vertigo and couldn't go out :(. I seem OK now :thumb:. That's good as I have physio this morning :)

    Have a great day :D

    Morning Shiney and Woo,

Woo,the yellow perch sounds good to me,reminds me of custard:D

The bed prices at Sleepmasters are dropping so will compare them to Harveys and see what we can come up with.We have to have a fairly decent bed as we both suffer with our backs so can't have any old bed:hehe:We are going for the two draw model as we have fitted units by the bed so a four draw is no good.

Shiney sorry about your visit to Barry due to Vertigo, sounds quiet nasty Shiney and hope you are feeling better today as you say:luv:

Have to go now so hope again you have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,:ywn:

Mr K had to get up sometime after midnight so woke me up and then I couldn't get back off to sleep so in the end decided to get up eventually:ywn:

It is a bit breezy outside but at least it is dry:DHave to get the rest of the plants in the garden taken up and stored in the greenhouse as they keep saying we are due for a frost tonight so will get that done.:yez:I was hoping to get some more bean pods dried off before they go all mushy but looks like the frost will get to them first:pAt least the parsnips will enjoy being frosted though.:yez:

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Hi Woo0)

I tried changing the colour of the text the other week but didn't realise that you have to keep resetting it each time after you have logged off:scratch::oops::D

We got a new feeding station the other weekend{the old one had rusted and falling to bits} and the birds are using it already, although I have now had to move the seed tray higher as Poppy managed to catch and kill a greenfinch yesterday afternoon:( so have put the feeders higher. We got one of those new Niger feeders for Goldfinches from the RSPB shop and I thought that the tiny slits would put them off but they have taken to it quiet well so don't have Niger seed all over the grass now.:D

Hope you manage to get one Mrs Woo likes. We saw some really posh ones but they are too tall for me and I would need a step ladder to hang the feeders off of the hooks so got a cheaper shorter one instead:p

Have a nice day and wrap up warm as it is bitterly cold out there:yez:

    Good morning everyone,

It is cold but brightening up out there after the heavy rain last night. :thumb:

woo, until I read your post I thought it was Sunday :dh: :old:

Kandy, you should have PM'd me to tell me to put on sunglasses before I read your posts :hehe:

The sun has just this moment come out to visit but I think I shall stay in our nice warm house for a bit longer. When it has warmed up out there I shall get on with the tidying up. Yesterday I picked the last couple of pounds of runners before pulling up the plants. Only another 28 plants to remove and their canes to be stored. I'll leave the plants on the bonfire for a few weeks to dry out before burning but I want to do it before the hedgehogs settle in. The pile is quite big.

We have a surprise 70th party to go to tonight in a hall in the small town down the road. Everyone has to get there early - before the birthday boy :)

    Have a great day :D

    Good Morning everyone,

Glad you both liked the new colours Shiney and Woo:yez::D

Woo,the birds will love your new feeding station as they are enjoying mine. What sort did you get in the end?

Shiney, sounds like you have been busy again in the garden and I bet you have picked quiet a few lbs of beans.Do you grow carrots and green etc?How did the surprise party go last night? You can't be that far off of yours now?:D

I like to do different things when I am bored,so today changed the colour and the font size for those of you wrinklies that have :old:age sight related problems:cool:

Anyway,I am up early again this morning{whats new}and by the looks of my weather station we didn't get that frost they forecast this morning so my beans drying at the lottie are safe, but once we get to a full moon we shall get more of them:D:ywn:

Had a trip yesterday morning with Mr K to B&Q toget some bags of rock salt ready for the impending hard winter and Mr K had to wear gloves as the salt stuff had started to sweat in the bags and had come out of the little holes in the bags and he ended up covered in the stuff:(:ywn:

Anyway, after lunch we went to the lottie and while Mr K picked more apples,I discovered another Butternut squash:yho:and then picked a few more beans and dug up some more carrots:yez: The beans are all but finished now so once some more have dried off I can get all the canes down and stored away.We had a downpour of rain so we got wet loading up the car and all the bags of apples got wet as well:(

Not sure what we are doing today, will see what the weather turns out like before we decide.I still have a memory card that needs putting on the computer and hard drive so that will be a job for Mr K at some point:D:ywn:

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Kandy, it seems as though you got a lot done at the lottie :gnthb:. I hope Mr K ahs recovered from being (a)salted :hehe:

Yesterday I got the last of the bean plants out and the canes stacked away and trimmed the edges of all the front lawns. :thumb:

The surprise party went very well and he didn't suspect a thing :hehe:. It was held at a large hall in the next town and there was a great atmosphere and good food.

The temperature was 3C when we came home last night. Don't think we had a frost.

Today I am running a bridge tournament with people coming from a radius of 50 miles or so. That'll keep me busy until about 10.30 this evening.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Shiney we are trying to get things done, but what with Mr Kandy still having a dodgy ankle and me having height fright, plus the rain at times things are pretty slow but we are getting there:yez:We would have got more done on Saturday but halfway through apple picking it chucked it down so we had to give up although between us we had filled six bags of apples{me picking the lower ones}so this wek I have the task of going through them and using the damaged ones while he is elsewhere:DGlad to hear that the surprise party went off ok.:thmb:Did you ever get the results of your Cholesterol check you had done the other week?:)

We had rain overnight so this morning it is ironing and then getting fruit and veg prepared for freezing etc.:D

Hope you all have a great day:)

    Good afternoon everyone,

I've just got back from the funeral of a friend. I think that is the sixth or seventh this year :(. I seem to be losing friends quicker than I'm making new ones.

Kandy, I've just got my results through and the surgery have said they don't need to see me as the cholesterol is down a bit more. I don't take any tablets and I've been working at it myself and it is gradually dropping. I've got it down from 7.7 through 6.5, 6.2 and now it is 6.

They took an armful of blood from me and did a whole series of tests. PSA is fine, blood is fine and sugar is 5.5 - which they also say is OK :thumb:. But they don't seem to be able to do anything about the grey hair and wrinkles :old: :hehe:

    Have a great day. :D

    Hi Shiney,

Sorry to hear about another friends passing and hope the funeral went off ok:thmb:

I have been seeing quiet a few ladies with grey hair just lately so I think I am going to let mine go naturally and not go down the root{scuse pun}of dyeing it.If I went white like my mum did then I would be more than happy as I do like that colour:D

Good news with all the tests as well.:thmb:Mr Kandy asked quiet a few years ago about having the PSA test done as he had an uncle that died from that disease but they said at 50 he was too young, but the wrinkly on the next plot to us went for an MOT and as he wass jsut about to leave the nurse suggested having the PSA test done and it is a good thing she did as he was in the early stages of Cancer and only because he was caught early that he is still here to tell the tale so to speak:yez:

Anyway, the Cholesterol is good and so is the sugar so you don't have much to worry about apart from the wrinkles although there is always botox:p
