    Evening everyone :)

I hope you are all well. Sorry to hear you have another funeral to go to Shiney. I hope it all goes ok and you get back from London without too much hassle.

We just had a couple of nights away in Hampshire [and saw my sister] but the trip on the M25 was not good. It was raining and the lorries [lots!] were throwing up lots of spray which made it difficult to see.

    Good morning Shiney and everyone,

Hope all goes well at the funeral Shiney and that the passing of your uncle brings you lots of good memories of past times over the years that you knew him as your uncle and hope that the weather stays kind for you and Mrs Shiney:luv:

Hi Jazmine, sounds like you had a good few days away but sorry about the lorry problems. That is one thing I don't like with heavy rain on the motorways and I always get stressed out with those types of conditions and i am just the passenger:D

Well I had a bad nights sleep last night and was still awake until the early hours so ended up oversleeping this morning.:(

Does anyone know when in January the VAT is likely to go back up as we need to get that new bed ordered but was hoping to leave it until the January sales but I don't my aching body can wait that long:oops::p

Hope you all have a great day despite funerals etc:)

    Thanks Kandy. :thumb:

I'm just finishing my porridge before getting ready to go. :)

VAT is scheduled to go up on January 4th. I reckon that there will be a lot of sales that say they will pay the increase in VAT. Of course, that will mean that they probably won't give as big a discount as they would normally.

You want to check with your bed shop when their sale starts. Some start after Boxing Day. :gnthb:

Thanks for the info Shiney,:ywn::thumb:We went and had another look last weekend and the bed we want is already reduced in price in their sales but wanted to hang on to see if they would drop the price a bit lower. We shall have to act quickly then or else we will have to pay the extra when the VAT goes up.I was hoping this bed would last a bit longer but it is now so lumpy and with the weight loss I can feel every single lump in the bed and it isn't doing my back problem any good:(

I;ve just had my brekkie, hung out a line full of washing and now sitting here with a nice mug of hot stuff before I go and start my ironing.Oh and by the way I felt a fewspots of the wet stuff when I was outside so despite the strong winds might not get the stuff dried:p

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, I hope that Mr K and the car are better soon. :thumb:

Funeral went well yesterday and we shall be back up to London tomorrow to see the family again.

Tonight we shall be going to a local theatre where some youngsters are putting on a 'Junior Stars In Their Eyes'. It's to support a good cause. :)

On Thursday we had a bridge drive to raise some money for our charity and raised £500 :gnthb:

It looks as though it may be a reasonable day today so I hope to get some pressure hosing done - if my legs will let me :old: :hehe:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone:ywn:

I'm up early this morning because I have two moggies who don't understand the word lie in so ended up getting up to give them some grub as they were doing my head in purring in my ear and puddling on the duvet cover:D

Mr Kandy has to sort the clocks out this morning as my laptop says it is 6.22am and the mantlepiece clock says it is 7.22am so actually I am not up early after all,I think:scratch::skp::hehe:

Shiney glad to hear the funeral went off ok and well done in raising all that money with the bridge drive.:yez:

I don't envy you going up to London today with all those crowds.Phil Spencer was talking on the telly last night and he says there are 6,500,000 people living in London :euw:.They must be crackers living down there and think of all the noise and poollution:oops::DAnyaway hope you enjoy your visit to family:thmb:

How did the concert go with the youngsters, was it good?

Sounds like Mr Kandy is moving about upstairs so better go and get my brekkie sorted out as I am starting to feel quiet hungry now and I have a chicken to prepare for dinner:p

Hope you all have a great day:)

Good morning everyone on this bright morning :thumb:

    I changed all our clocks at 3 a.m. (2 a.m.) :)

Kandy, your cats obviously haven't trained you very well :hehe:. Oscar always has dry food in a bowl in the propagator to nosh on when he feels like it. He then gets wet food delivered at morning and evening but only when Mrs shiney has the time. Except in the summer, when he can be up and roaming quite early, he stays in bed until she brings his breakfast. That is usually between 8 and 10 o'clock. If, for some reason, he thinks she should have already brought it then he will sit on the front doormat. He gets his evening wet food anytime between 5 and 11 p.m. depending on whether Mrs shiney is in. If he is on the mat he always gives her a hug (paws around her neck and his head rubbing her under the chin or licking her cheek) before food. At any time he prefers the hugging. k-l

The show was good. 10 kids between 7 and 15 were performing their favourite stars' songs. Nine of them were singers who had only had their first hits between 2006 and 2009. We didn't know any of them  :dh:. The other one did Dusty Springfield. Very few of them managed to sing in key but you couldn't fault them for their performances :gnthb:. I think all of them were from the families of the people in the theatre group. The show was directed, produce and compered by a girl still at school (she was excellent) and the lighting was done by a 16 yr old boy.

Going to London on a Sunday is not a problem. My cousin's place is nearer the outskirts and on motorway most of the way and then dual-carriageway the rest of the way. We should do the 45 miles in less than 45 minutes. We could reduce the 45 miles to nearer 35 if we didn't use the motorway but it would take a lot longer and use a lot more petrol.

    Have a great day :D
