    Good morning Shiney and everyone,

I have been up since before four due to my eye lids refusing to stay stuck together sioin the end decided to get up and have just been reading Choppers great golfing story on another thread. It did make me smile, but is very true of the game:thumb:

Looks like I have missed you on here then Shiney and hope you sleep well:ywn::gnthb:

Glad to hear the concert went off quiet well even though they were a bit out of tune but at least they made the effort to put on the performance for you all:thmb:

Sounds like you had a great time at your cousins place and that it was easy to get to.I have a few cousins but don't keep in regular contact with them and couldn't even tell you where they live:o.Mr Kandy keeps in contact with one of his and we often visit and chat on the phone which is nice:D

Our cats have all been fed {all three of them}and no doubt we will have a visit at some point from all the other stray ones that have decided to adopt us.The ginger one even follows us round the village of an evening and I am always concerned that it will get lost, but it often runs in front of us as we walk along:yez:

Well yesterday I cooked a nice chicken lunch that we had with all the usual roast taters but had a complaint from Mr K andy that he wanted three roast spuds and not two,but I did point out that he was trying to lose weight but he said he still wanted three spuds:skp:We were hoping to go to the allotment but it started raining so ended up just pulling up some carrots and radish inbetween the rain showers and as we had taken a change of trousers and shoes,we put them on in the shed before driving off to our local garden centre for a quick look round. We are getting good at just looking and not buying too much:hehe:We got some good leaf colour photos when we stopped for a walk on the way back home.It is a great time of year:yez:

In the evening we had a few witches knock on the door, one of them being my friend and her little girl and she looked fantastic made up and her cauldron was over flowing with bags of sweeties:DThey even brought Oscar the dog with them as well which pleased Mr Kandy as he hasn't seen hinm for ages and was surprised at how he had grown{like they do}:p

Today Mr Kandy is going off to work early as 'The Cube' is being opened today and our local radio station is coming from there so that will be inetresting to listen to on the breakfast show:cool:and mr Kandy has to be there to make sure all the puters run ok:p:ywn:

Anyway,it is 4.26am and I am getting cold sitting here so had better go and get dressed soon ready to start the day,so hope you all have a good one:)

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

It is lovely and dry out there so I have been out and done an hour of pressure hosing of the patio. It is gradually coming up cleaner :gnthb:.

Kandy, we keep in touch with all our cousins, even the ones that live in different countries. My father was one of 10 children and my mother was one of four. So there are a lot of cousins. I'm amazed at how old some of the are getting to look :hehe:. A lot of them look like my uncles and aunts :lollol:

I don't know what size roast potatoes you do but I have seven with my roast meals :yho:.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

I feel so tired this morning and am struggling to keep my eyes open as I type this even though I had a good nights sleep:ywn::snz:I just wish they would leave the clocks alone instead of messing about with my sleep patterns:(

I accidently caught something on the keyboard so the post submitted it's self so am having to type this under edit but can't see what anyone else has written so don't know what to answer about:p:oops:

Shiney are you going to the O2 to see the new Titanic Exhibition? It looks like it might be good:DThere is already a trip planned for anyone who wants to visit the the wreck site in 2012 when it will be the 100th anniversary and I think the tickets are selling out fast.It will be a busy year that year as it is the Olympics, the Queens Diamond Anniversary{60 years on the throne}and the Titanic anniversary so lots going on.:DLets hope that some nutter doesn't decide to do something bad that year when there will be more people in this country:p

I got to the allotment yesterday and got a large area of ground covered with black plastic to clear the weeds but forgot to take a photo of my work:oops:I did find our toad again so took some photos of that:yez:

Hope you all have a good day.:)We have wind and rain expected here today:(

    Good morning everyone,

It is dry here this morning so I shall try and get out there and continue pressure hosing.

Kandy, I'm not really interested in seeing an exhibition about a ship that sunk. As an old sailor I'm not very keen on seeing that sort of thing.

We are gradually tidying up the garden for the winter. It is never really finished but it is beginning to look neater. Mrs Shiney is clearing out pots from the greenhouse and the patio and Oscar is helping her k-l

Whilst I'm sitting here I can see that the wind is getting stronger. If it gets up too much I shan't be doing the hosing other wise I may be getting it in my face all the time. It just depends on which way the wind is blowing.

    Have a great day. :D

    Good morning everyone,

Looks like we have had a bit of rain in the night because the road outside is damp and Mr Kany says we are due for more today at some point. We had strong winds as well from yesterday afternoon onwards so got blown along when we went for our evening walk:D

Shiney,I see what you mean about being and old sailor, but I am interested in the educational side of the sinking because when I was a child I had to sit and watch the film 'A night to remember' and we used to sing a song at school about the sinking but didn't really understand what it was all about.I didn't even know about the fact that the gates were locked to stop a lot of the third class passengers getting:( or the fact that a fund had to be set up for the widows of a lot of the crew members, and i didn't even realise that there wasn't enough life boats for everyone on board, but now watching the documentories on the telly I can see for myself exactly what happened to those on board.I was never taught anything about the two world wars at school so made a point when I was old enough to watch the programmes on the telly about both of the wars{War and Peace and Shoah{sp}}so now feel I know a little of the persecution of the Jews and how they suffered at the hands of those monsters and why my Grandfather died leaving my mum fatherless. This is the only way I can catch up on the lost education that i didn't get at school so don't feel to out of things when I hear the :old:er generations talk about these subjects:)

I am tidying up my garden as best as I can and have loads of violets that have self set all over one border and they are starting to choke some of my other plants so they have to go:pHope you got the hosing done ok and thta you didn't get too wet with the spray:D

Have a great day everyone in all that you do:)

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

It was very windy last night but no rain and it is nice and sunny at the moment :thumb:

Violets can be quite invasive and they are difficult to dig out :(.

Kandy, if you didn't learn much about that part of history then it is good that you are now able to understand a lot more about what went on. It is sometimes very difficult to believe some of the prejudices and atrocities that occurred unless you know the history. I can sometimes see, nowadays, some of the prejudices beginning to re-occur that wouldn't happen if people knew more about history. As a simple example, the growth in the support for the BNP is worrying. A lot of the supporters are totally misinformed and wouldn't be following like sheep if they had the correct information and knew enough history to ask the right questions. Whoops! End of rant. :flag: :)

I've now got about half of the pressure hosing done ready for winter. I'll have to ease up for a bit as my back, and the arthritis in my thumbs, is protesting. :old:

The strong wind has brought down lots of leaves which will take a few hours to clear up. I want to try and get things a bit tidy as we have friends coming at the weekend.

    Have a great day :D

Hello friends - here and absent :luv:

Shiney OH decided to pressure hose the block paving at the back-he also swept up the leaves and cleaned the pond out and tidied the plants. I happily let him get on :D

Kandy we had strong winds here and some rain but it is mild still.
Yesterday I worked all day at my sons [got my pocket money] and worked hard too. He didn't have much food in for me so had peanut butter on toast for lunch :)

Tomorrow I have two appointments at the GP instead of one - blood test at 8am then appt with the GP in the afternoon. I seem to live there and the hospital at the moment :old:

    Good morning everyone,

Jazmine hope you start to feel better soon and the continual visits to the Dr's and Hospital must be a grind but at least you are in good hands so bare with it:gnthb:

Hi Woo good to see you back again and hope that you are going from strength to strength and will soon be back to your old self:gnthb:

Shiney,I for got to say the other day we ususally have three good sized roast taters but now that I have to watch the carbs,I have smaller ones and as Mr Kandy is trying to lose his tummy weight thought I would do him less spuds but more veg.Next time he complains to the cook I will tell him to do it himself:hehe:

I don't support the MNP party either and I think they are influenced by previous happenings in Germany seventy years ago.The problem is that people are easily brainwashed and don't see the true picture of the past or the presant:(

Anyway, most of the leaves have been blown off of my acer and also some of the leaves have gone from our beech hedge out the front so it looks a bit naked now:oops:
I have woken up with a horrible sore throat this morning so am hoping I don't have a cold coming on:(

    Have a good day everyone:)

    Good morning everyone,

Woo, I hope you are feeling better now :gnthb:

Jazmine, it must be a real bore having to spend so much time backwards and forwards to the medics :(. I hope they are managing to get on top of the problem. I've been to the hospital and the docs four times in the last three weeks and that is a nuisance so all your visits must be a pain in the you know what. Wish you lots better :luv:

Kandy, I wish you better as well :luv: and hope it is just a one day thing.

I'm taking Barry to the solicitor today so he can have one of these freebie wills done. I got an email this morning from Will Aid suggesting a minimum donation of £75 but I have told Barry to only give £20. The solicitor is happy with that. I'll take him to the pub for lunch afterwards as he doesn't get much chance to get out. :gnthb:

We still have lots of trees hanging on to their leaves and we will spend the next three months clearing them as they fall. I shifted 14 big barrow loads yesterday and when I looked out this morning the lawn was covered in new leaves .

I'm also currently in a little fight with an insurance company over the change in terms of their cover. They have finally agreed to back down and do what I suggest but they haven't put it in writing yet but we're winning :thmb:

My next battle is already lined up and is with the County Council. I'm working on drawing up the papers to take the to court. I'm going to time the serving of the papers, if I can, to hit them just as they are slowing down for Christmas. The courts will only allow them 14 days to respond :hehe:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Well it is November 5th and bonfire night tonight so I expect there will be a lot of upset pets with all the banging going off,so must try to make sure all our cats are kept indoors with the telly volume turned up.:yez:At least Guy Fawkes was the only person trying to get into parliment with good intentions:hehe:

    Shiney,good on you sorting out Barry's will affairs.:gnthb:I haven't the confidence to go on my own and knowing me I would get talked into something I really don't want to do or get fleeced in the process:pI keep doing the Lotto and the Euro Millions when it is a roll over in the hope of winning the big payouts but alas they keep picking someone elses numbers instead of mine,so obviously they need the dosh more than I do:D{Anyway,how can the wills be freebie ones if you have to pay for them?:scratch::cnfs:}

Sorry to see on the other thread about your thumb problems when trying to hose down the patio, and don't really know what to suggest apart from mthe obvious like get someone else to do it for you:DMy hands keep stiffening up,and is worse in the mornings on waking but by the end of the day they are not too bad.One of the joys of getting :old:er:p

Good luck also with your fights with the insurance and council.I am sure they will both be pleased to hear from you...not:D

I got up late this morning but have already cleaned out the fridge this morning as it needed doing so it looks all nice ready for when we get the fresh stuff tomorrow. It has just started raining quiet heavily out there so will have to stay indoors instead me thinks:yez:

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, you're a bit bright today :hehe:.

How's your sore throat? My thumbs are OK most of the time but gripping something for a short while can become a problem.

The work that the solicitor has done for the will is totally free. Will Aid has suggested the donation of £75 or more but the solicitor said that you don't have to give anything - she doesn't get anything out of it doesn't matter how much is donated. Barry felt he wanted to give something so I suggested £20. I'll sort all that out for him. The solicitor was very nice, didn't rush us, gave Barry good advice (including how to make sure there are no costs to administer the will when he dies) and will store the will for him free of charge. Well done, solicitor :thumb:. It's not very often I can say that! :hehe:

I had better get out there and start clearing leaves if the rain is on its way down here from you.

I don't think Oscar is bothered by fireworks but we shall have to check. He never seems bothered by anything - except his occasional confrontation with Monty. They were out on the patio last night standing with their noses about one inch from each other. I chased off Monty.

    Have a great day :D
