    Good morning everyone,

We had rain and strong winds for most of the day yesterday and now have some flooding in the fields and the country roads but we still managed to get out last night for a quick walk before the rain started again:p

Thanks everyone for your lovely commnets about Ginge.:thmb:He used to come into the house and sprayed his scent eveywhere as we have a couple of queens{female cats} in the house but since I have given him some food he no longer does it but he has a big appetite and has a loud cry when he wants even more food:pWillow won't have him in the house for long and makes some weird cat calls at him before Ginge legs it back out the cat flap:D

Shiney sorry to hear about the injections and your dislike of them {man thing}but it is either that or you stay at home for xmas:D

I'm off on a Desmond course this morning as I asked the nurse when I went to see her if I could go on one to get some education and when I rang up to book it the organiser was appalled that I hadn't been offered a place on one so I have been squeezed in on this one.It is three hours long and then have to go back in two weeks time for the next session so looking forward to learning some more about this disease:yez:

I overdid the leaf gathering on saturday so now have lower back problems but have my heat pad on the spot which is helping a lot but it is a pain when I sneeze:oops::p

Hope you all have a great day in all that you do:)

    Good morning everyone,

The rain has stopped for now but they forecast more.

Kandy, I hope you get the information you need from your course - and your back gets better quickly. :thumb:

I'm still fighting off the man flu but it got the better of me during the night :(. Not too bad this morning.

I went to the nurse yesterday and she said that I don't need the injections :gnthb:. She said that as long as I wear my stockings (she has prescribed new ones after measuring me) and I take junior aspirin the day before and on the day of each flight I will be OK. I always do excercises at least every hour on a flight and walk up and down a lot.

    Have a great day :D

    Evening all :luv:

I hope everyone is well or as well as can be expected.

Shiney would that be heparin to thin the blood? I have had them in my stomach, oops didn't mean to make you sqirm there :D I just had a blood test and I watched the whole thing but injections are not nice. I think I dislike the dentists injections the most though.
Will you wear a suspender belt with the stockings?

Kandy is your course to do with your diabetes? I haven't heard of it at all. I hope you get on ok with it :) We have been clearing up leaves, they all seem to gather on our garden. Our bin is now full :autlv:

Lovely Autumnal picture Woo. The trees are nearly bare now after all Shineys wind.

Hi O2 and Penny, hope you have a good time.

    Good morning everyone,

Had to sleep on the settee last night because of my bad back but that was a waste of time so feel quiet tired again this morning.Have my heat pad on my back now though so hope that helps:ywn::D

Shiney fingers crossed that all goes well with the support stockings on the flight.I don't think my sciatica would allow me to sit in an aircraft seat for hours on end:oops::p

Yes Jazmine, the Desmond{Diabetes Education and Self Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed}was very good and it is shocking that all of us there in the group had not been told much at all about the disease when first diagnosed and most of them were completley in the dark. One poor lady has MS and was in a wheel chair so her husband Ian has to care for both her MS and now her Diabetes.I was given a round of applause as I was the only one in the group who new what HbA1c was so I went all red and felt :o:DSome of them said 'Well done Dr Kandy':oEven the ladies at the back who were taking notes on how well the educators were doing said I had given the perfect answer so can't be as thick as I thought I was:p

Anyway, despite the room being freezing cold because the heating had packed up I had a good three hours there and I kept doing leg and foot exercises to help my back and also have a nice plastic folder full of infomation to read and absorb and go back in two weeks time for the next session:D

I don't think I will be doing any more leaf gathering for the time being now I have done my back in.My own silly fault for trying to carry dustbin bags full of wet leaves a good distance to the car:(

It is chilly this morning, but don't know whether we have had a frost last night as it is too dark out there:hehe:

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

    Jazmine,
yes, the injections would have been in the stomach. When I had my DVT in '94 I had to wear a full length stocking for three months. The top wouldn't stay up so instead of a suspender belt :o I took the clips off a belt and attached them to a vest and used them that way :hehe:. I even had to wear that stocking whilst I was hobbling around the Lake District.

After that I was prescribed the knee length compression stocking (very tight :() that I have had to wear ever since - not the same one all the time :hehe:. Now I have been prescribed one for the other leg but may not be able to wear it. We shall have to see.

    Kandy,
Well done with your course :gnthb:.

My man flu is now a problem because of very sore ribs from coughing. Also, I can't go to bed as I get congested when lying down so haven't been to bed since Friday night. I get the odd hour doze during the night whilst sitting up in the lounge..

Last night I was watching TV, about 4 a.m., and saw a lovely programme called the Bionic Vet. They had a cat brought in to them (Oscar :)) who had his rear feet chopped off by a combine harvester. Instead of putting him down, as other vets would do, they cleaned him up and had bionic feet made for him.

Here is a link to you tube

    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqUEraHGHvI"]YouTube - The Bionic Vet - Oscar the Cat[/nomedia]

Then, when you have watched it, you can click on the 'Bladerunner cat' which shows you the blade feet they subsequently made for him.

woo, keep well, my friend. :gnthb:

    Have a great day :D

Good morning everyone, from the wet and windy middle of the country:D

Sorry to hear you are srtill poorly with the man flu Shiney, and I know what you mean about gongestion as I get that every winter on my chest and I hope that it doesn't turn to bronchitis.Hope you get some relief from it soon and keep warm :luv:

Woo,hope you are feeling ok in yourself and that you are not troubled with too much bad weather down your way:)

I'm still having back problems but still keeping mobile although I have had to resort to painkillers now:(

There was lots of good programmes on the telly last night for a change so ended up watching The Edwardian Farm and The Apprentice but missed the vet one and also the greek type one:p

We have heavy rain and strong winds here so will probably have more flooding around the villages.

Hope you all have a goo day:)

Good morning woo, Kandy and everyone,

It is very windy here but the rain has stopped. I had to scrape the ice off the car twice last night :(. At least it has gone now.

I've quite a lot of things to do today. Apart from all the paperwork that has been piling up whilst I've been feeling so rough I have to go out shopping for the food for Mrs Shiney's students this weekend. I have to prepare it today as I go away tomorrow for a three day national bridge tournament in Daventry.

I think my man flu is getting a little better but morning isn't the right time to tell properly.

Definitely no gardening for me in this weather :)

    Be careful out there.

Have a great day and weekend :D

    Hi Shiney,

I think we might have had frost last night as when Mr Kandy looked at the temperature before he went to bed at 10pm it read 33c so if it went down to 32c it would have frosted the cars but as it was so cold outside I never went out to look at the cars:D

Glad to hear the man flu is getting better and don't overdo the sitting down over the next few days at the bridge tournament:thmb:

Sorry, forgot to mention in this mornings post about the Oscar the cat video and his new feet that were given to him after losing his own two in that dreadful accident. That surgeon is a genius and it is brilliant at what he can do:gnthb:.Shame I didn't see the rest of the programme though:(

I can here heavy rain hammering on the conservatory roof and the wind is howling as well out there.Hope you don't experience much flooding while you are away Shiney as some of the roads round about the county have been pretty bad with standing water everywhere.:(

    Enjoy your weekend:luv:

Hi Woo,thanks for your good wishes regarding my back:luv:.Sign of old age and me trying to lift heavy things:oops: instead of standing back and letting the strong men to do it:yez::D

Hope you have been able to take the doggies out this morning:D
