    Good morning everyone,

I got a lot more gardening done yesterday and am suffering for it today :heehee:. Never mind, I'll try to get a little bit done today but it looks as though it may be a bit damp outside. They forecast rain for the next five days.

penny, I hope it warms up for you soon. :thumb:

Dave, I hope you managed to get into the garden yesterday whilst it was dry.

    Have a great day :D

Am I first up today??? :D

Have a good day everybody. I am off shortly to my art group so am looking forward to seeing if we have any new people.
I bought some iris bulbs and need to get them in when I can decide where they are going! My son wants me to "do" his border behind the pond that OH put in so I will be busy when I get the plants.

    Good morning Jazmine and everyone,

    Jazmine, enjoy your art. :thumb:
Mrs shiney has taken up art again and is doing very well.

It has stopped raining and the sun is shining. I hope the ground isn't too soggy for me to get some work done. After only a couple of hours of rain the roads had started flooding again.

    Have a great day :D

Good monring everyone and hope you are all well :)

I don't seem to get much time to come on here now as I am busy with getting things done in the house, garden and allotment when the wind isn't howling so seem to run out of time :D

Had to go to the lottie one day early last week and rescue most of the black plastic i put down the other week as the wind had whipped under the gaps where the bricks and other heavy objects were keeping it on the ground so now have that lot stored in the shed but am fed up that i wasted all that time laying it only to have it blown about :rolleyespink:

Spent some time in the garden and it is lovely to see all my snowdrops and aconites in flower plus the buds coming through of my Erythroniums and tulips etc.Have alos got lots of Aconite seedlings that have germinated which is good but will have to split up my winter Iris as they haven't flowered this year and the info i had that came with them says to spilt them up when they stop flowering,so as we have had them since 1992 i think they need looking at.

Shiney, the bat box is good.We had a couple of bats flying round the garden last Autumn and it was lovely watching them fly as i stood in the darkness of our sun room but we haven't got anywhere we could put a box as our garage wall is south facing and the trees in the garden would have the cats sitting up them and we don't want them in the house or garage roof space as it is a £1,000 fine per bat if they are disturbed so don't really want them which is a shame :P

Hope you all have a good dry day :)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, nice to see you on here :dbgrtmb: You seem to be quite busy. Our black plastic managed to stay down during the winds but I had to move the bricks a few times and replace some of the pins that had been ripped out of the ground. It's difficult trying to find the pins.

We haven't had strong winds for a few days but if they come back I may put the bean canes in and they will stop the plastic from blowing away.

No sign of bats yet - couldn't have seen the advert I put up :heehee: Oscar has been helping the glass man who has been replacing broken and cracked panes in his greenhouse. The greenhouse is 34 years old and we have rarely had to replace the glass. The panes are approx 6ft x 2.5ft and, as we had to replace a roof pane that was broken by the weight of the snow, we decided to replace all the cracked ones. Fortunately the greenhouse hadn't warped much in all those years so the panes slid in easily enough.

It's drizzling a bit out there and probably the ground is too damp to do anything so I may get up and clean the summerhouse gutters out.

    Have a great day :D

Good morning Shiney and everyone and hope you are all well :)

Shiney the black plastic i laid was from off of a roll i found at the back of the shed that we must have bought yonks ago.Way way back in the mists of time{early 80's}we had to ask a GC{Garden Centre} to order some black plastic as in those days you never saw it for sale and had to place a special order for it.The GC asked us what we wanted it for and when we told them must have thought it a good idea as now the majority of GC's stock the stuff so word must have got round :D What a pity we didn't have the brains to start up a buisness buying and selling the stuff  The plastic we use is quiet thick but not the woven stuff that i think you use so ours wouldn't be able to stay on the ground all year :D

Mr Kandy is off this week from work so after our camera batteries are charged we are off down to Stow on the Wold for the day so might find some NT properties to visit or some good walking to do :thumb:

Hope your back and foot soon get better and hope that Mrs Shiney and Oscar are both well and you are waiting on their every need :loll:

Have a good day everyone and hope you are getting the sunshine like we are :)[hr]
Good morning Loopy we are well thanks and hope that you are too and enjoying your garden etc...:)

Enjoy your day whatever you may be doing :D
