    Afternoon everyone :)
I hope everyone is well. Kandy enjoy your break- it's a lovely part of the country to visit.I hope this sunshine keeps up for you. It has been beautiful here today and I am appreciating all the buds now showing. It is feeling more Spring like.
Yesterday we went to Sprowston Manor as my sister had bought me two day passes for my birthday last year. We had a lovely swim, jacuzzi and lounged on the loungers - lovely!

Ohh Shiney I hope he can sort you out! :dbgrtmb:
I dare not ask what you have done, is it your back? I HATE being stuck indoors and I bet you do too.
Penny it sounds too cold where you are. It has been chilly here today.
We just got back from a trip to the cinema and a meal after which was all very pleasant. I think it may be because on Valentines day I asked "are we going out tonight?" and got a "look" :loll: Feelings of guilt methinks....

    Good morning everyone,

Jazmine, I'm pleased you had a good time.

Yes, it is my back. I have been doing a lot of garden but trying to be careful at the same time. I've mainly been doing the edges of the lawns, a bit of digging and tidying up and a number of odd jobs like pruning and sawing out large dead branches of laurel (we've cut back the large laurels in the front garden).

The other day I was cleaning out the gutters of the summerhouse and had to move one of the large blue pots in order to get the ladder in place. The pot is quite heavy, although empty, and is about 3ft high and 2.5ft wide. I had no problem lifting it of its feet but when I went to put it back I felt something go in my lower back :cry3:

For the last few days I have even needed help to get up from a chair but Mrs shiney and the chiropractor have now managed to get me going again. With a combination of painkillers and anti-inflammatories I was able to drive to a meeting today and and also get a bit of fresh air. :dbgrtmb:

I'm also having trouble with bursitis in my foot so am not allowed to do much walking even if I am able to get about

    Have a great day :D

    Thanks Marley :dbgrtmb:

It has eased up a bit today but I'm still having trouble getting out of a chair. When I'm standing it hurts but is not too much trouble. I've just finished preparing a curry for tonight and this evening I shall be off to another meeting. :)

The trouble is that I can see all the things that need doing in the garden. I had a slow wander around the garden and the signs of spring are definitely here. :thumb:
It's nice to see that some of the daffs have now got their heads forming and some of the pale yellow primroses are starting to bloom. I also saw that the black grasses have seeded and there are a few new plants coming on. This is good news as the black grass is such a slow grower. Oscar wandered around the garden with me. :D

    Evening all :)
Oh sorry to hear that Shiney. I know what an active person you are and there is nothing worse to not be able to do things. I hope you can soon get back to normal and make sure you don't lift heavy pots again!
I have been out all day. I offered to take my poor friends mouthguard to the dentist so they could prepare a new one for her. I had to see "Ken" who was on the top floor and after 4 flights of stairs I was hardly able to speak to him :heehee: I will gladly offer to collect it for her :D but take some oxygen with me.

Shiney, I sorry to hear you've been slowed down by a bad back and foot. I was just feeling sorry for myself after modifying my finger whilst sharpening Shears on a grinder. But I how easy it is to "do" your back in and how painful it is so I don't think I can complain now with justification. I hope you get better soon,

    Good morning everyone,

    Thanks Jazmine and ARMANDII,
It is getting a bit easier now. I've still got problems getting up out of a chair but standing and walking are not too bad. It's one of Mrs shiney's teaching days so I have my usual duty of making a hot veggie lunch for the students. So I'm making cream of brocolli soup (with coconut milk), a veggie chilli (with Quorn mince) and fresh pineapple.
Tonight we have some friends coming round for dinner (their kitchen burned down) so I shall cheat a little bit. The starter will be a small portion of veggie chilli, followed by rack of lamb with roast spuds, cauli tossed in browned onions and cumin seeds, courgettes lightly coated in a tomato and herb sauce and grilled mushrooms. The dessert will be a mixed fruit strudel with marscapone. :dbgrtmb:

It's raining today, as forecast, so I don't feel too bad about not being able to do some gardening. :)

    Have a great day :D
