Good morning everyone,

Shiney hope your man flu gets better

Yesterday was a right dismal day especially in the morning so we didn't get out for a good walk until the afternoon and then it was still a bit misty with a cold breeze.

Found the oak and cherry trees that we planted thirty years ago with orange spots on them so it looks like they are for the chop, although Geoff Hamiltons has a nice staright trunk so his is going to stay for a bit longer :D

Called in at the visitor centre at the country park where we were walking and had a nice mug of hot chocolate so that was nice and then had a pleasant walk back to the car.

It is dry out there this morning so we might get a chance to get some gardening done at home today.

Have a good day everyone :)

    Good morning everyone,

Another dry day out there today and i just hope it is warmer than yesterdays weather. :D

Heard from my sister in Devon yesterday, one of her cats has been run over and it is now in the vets and it is touch and go as to whether it survives as the vet thinks it has internal bleeding but because it is so traumatized he dare not work on it to much in case the shock kills it.My sister is very upset and will be going today with her hubby to either say her her goodbyes or see what can be done next for Chloe.Anyone that is good at praying is needed at the moment to send good thoughts at this dreadful time....:cry3:

Hope you all have a good day :)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, we're very sorry to hear about Chloe. Mrs shiney will get her healing group to pray for her.

My cold seems to have eased up but I am now feeling a bit chesty and hope I am not starting a cough as I'm susceptible to problems with coughs. We're supposed to be taking a friend out to lunch for her birthday today so I shall dose myself up. If I say anything stupid on here later today then just blame it on the drugs :heehee:

It's been drizzling all night here after a dry but dull and cold day yesterday. Mrs shiney has 160 begonias to pot on today so I spent quite some time washing out trays and the pots to put in them and then filling the pots with compost. Oscar supervised so everything should be OK. :dbgrtmb:

I'm planning in my mind how to make a suitable, makeshift, cloche in the greenhouse to keep them warmer. I shall check in my shed to see whether I still have some of the rubber balls for connecting canes together. If I have then it will be easy.

    Have a great day :D

Hope you hear some good news about Chloe Kandy. Your poor sister. Let us know how things go please.

Shiney we wouldn't notice anything different if you said some thing stupid :heehee: Gosh Mrs Shiney will be busy, I only had a few plants to do and I was tired. She is superwoman tell her!!

Now off out as we are taking dad to drop his car off, then shopping, then on to my sons. Day sorted!

    Good morning everyone,

Many thanks for the get well wishes and prayers from myself and on behalf of my sister :)

We had a good chat yesterday evening and she was saying that her and her hubby have been over to Bideford where Chloe is being treated and am pleased to say there has been a slight improvement in her condition. My sister was telling me that the vets have operated on her as she had an exposed nerve in one of her legs and also pad damage on one of her feet.Chloe also has one of her eyes not right and my sister said that when you look at the cat one of the eyes looks normal and the other eye{I assume she means eyeball}has been moved so it isn't sitting in the socket properly {eeek}Anyway the nurses asked my sister to try and get Chloe to eat some food but she was interested which isn't surprising as she probably has quiet a nasty headache after being whacked by the car.

The chap who did it lives in my sisters village and is quiet upset at what has happened, but said that he never even saw the cat until he heard the bump so by the sounds of it,the centre part of the car hit Chloe and not the wheels as they would have squashed her if they had impacted on her.

My sister and her hubby are going back to see her sometime today so she will probably let me know how things are progressing :)

Shiney, hope your man flu is getting better  Touch wood I have been fine while everyone else have been falling like flies with colds etc,but just lately I have been going down with illness when we are due to go away on holiday :P

It is supposed to be fine weather today so with luck will get back over to the allotment and get some seeds sown and the shallots planted :D

Hope you all have a good day :)

    Good morning everyone,

It is very frosty out this morning but we have brilliant sunshine so I hope it warms up.

Thanks for your get well wishes. The cold seems to have almost gone but my chest is not too good so I hope it doesn't get worse.

I've been making a 7ft x 3ft cloche in the greenhouse to give the small plants even more insulation but have come across a few design faults  :heehee: I hope to sort those out today when it has warmed up a bit.

Oscar seems to have designed an en-suite bathroom in the greenhouse :heehee:. Whilst I was working in there he inspected a 24" hanging basket which has got old soil but no plants in (they died) and decided to use it as a toilet. I'm pleased I spotted it as Mrs shiney was going to be working on it next week :rolleyespink:

We've cleared and dug another section of the veg plot and I shall now cover that with weed supressant plastic :thumb:. That should warm the soil up a bit and save us another area of weeding.

The rhubarb is now doing extremely well and I hope to start selling it in a couple of week's time.

    Have a great day :D

Morning everyone, It so great t get back to normal (well as normal as I'll ever be)

It was my 50th birthday last Thursday (17th March, Paddys day) and I was cajoled into having a party  which we had the following day.

We do our own catering so can be a bit stressful but at least we know who has been man handling our food :WINK1:

I had a fantastic time and it is always great to get all your family and good friends all together under one roof now and then.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Have a lovely Sunday everyone

It would be ok here as well if it wasn't that yesterday I got a wood splinter in my left finger at 90 degrees sharp.

I did manage to get it out but it was ever so painful and of course for a few days I will have to type with a different finger.

    Good morning everyone,

Shiney that sounds quiet funny,Oscar pooing in the hanging basket, saves Mrs Shiney having to add fertiliser. :D Perhaps you ought to patent the idea{hanging baskets with poo added}it might make you a fortune :heehee:

Our rhubarb is just starting to grow so i gave it a good feed with chicken pellets last week which will help.No one would buy it in our village as they are all heavily in debt as it is so Mr Kandy eats ours and then we freeze the rest :P

02,Congratulations on reaching your helf century :) :thumb: Mr Kandy reaches a new milestone in May.Have to find out whether he is entitled to free prescriptions after that :D

Morning Louise hope you are well and have a good day :)

Yesterday afternoon we managed to get to the allotment after a morning of me getting washing done and Mr Kandy washing the house windows :D We both got plenty done but the rotavating made my hands have pins and needles so had to stop that in the end :P Was over there for 2.5 hours and felt tired and creaky when we had finished and headed home :D

Anyway, have been up now for a couple of hours and have restocked all the bird feeders, prepared the veggies for dinner and have just had my breakfast so now off for a nice walk round the garden to see what else is in bloom and then will probably go for a quick walk before i start getting the dinner cooked.

    Have a good day :)
