    Good morning everyone,

Lovely photo of the cotton reels Woo.I never had my camera with me when they harvested the fields in our village so by the time I did take it out they had removed all of them and I didn't even get any photos of the combines this year:p

Shiney, shame that you are only a fine weather walker,as walking must be the cheapest form of exercise you can getplus it gets one fit for walking holidays:DA couple of times last week we got caught out and got soaking wet and when there is thick ice on the ground in the winter we slide round the village holding each other up:hehe:

I do like your Korilick toms, and your quantities of produce are all great:thmb:Mr Kandy picked about half a carrier bag of Runner Beans yesterday, although we are not going to do as well as last year though,oh and he pulled up some more carrots and got a caterpillar eaten cabbage which will get eaten this week.I started digging up our late spuds and we havn't got huge amounts of then neither/either?

Yesterday afternoon we had a knock on the door and there stood the young couple who have moved into the four bed house on the plot next door, although they didn't want to come in for a cuppa{Shiney talk} as they were busy we had a good chat with them and found out they have moved from the same village we moved from where we had lived for 21 years.Talk about a small world.....:D

Hi Marley, hope you and your family are ok and nice to see you popping in to see us:)

Have a good day everyone in all that you do:)

    Good morning everyone,

The garden we went to see yesterday was worth the drive :thumb:. It is just an ordinary suburban garden that has been made extraordinary by superb vision and planting. It was crammed full of plants and consisted of a number of rooms. Mrs shiney took her camera but I don't know whether she took any photos (I think she was too busy looking :hehe:). We then walked a mile down to the sea (estuary) in lovely warm sunshine and shared a naughty bag of lovely chips.

The evening we spent having an enjoyable time at my sister's place with some cousins. :gnthb:

Today has started dull and blustery but the forecast says it will be quite warm :).

    Kandy,
I see that you posted whilst I was typing so am adding a bit to this :). Walking in the rain and ice is for other people :hehe: :rotfl:. I'll let you konw how the Koralik progress. Half a carrier bag of beans is enough to get on with for now :gnthb:. We were a bit annoyed when we picked an aubergine and found there was a hole in it that was about half an inch around and an inch deep. The hole was full of woodlice  .
It seems as though you may get on well with your new neighbours :thmb:. They certainly got the building done quickly.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,

Still no rain here, but some of the humidity has moved out, supposed to be in the lower 90's today.

Off to Toronto, so have a great day everyone.

:thumb: Good day everyone.. Hope everyone is well this morning.. Well I have had the chimney sweep here today.. All done now & the dust has settled so off to have a good clean up, although I do have to say it was the cleanest chimney sweeping I have ever had to date.. Traditional but excellent work...!! :yho:
I have not had to have that done for nearly 20yrs, but now I am back to it on an at least once yearly basis... :dh::lollol: Just can't beat a living flame for your hot water & heat in the winter... :lollol: Although the logs & coal seem to have got heavier over the years...!!!! :rotfl:

    Good afternoon everyone,

I have been over to the lottie this morning and spent three hours over there and now am sitting out in the garden enjoying this beautiful day while I am preparing the runner beans that Mr Kandy picked yesterday ready for eating fresh and the rest will go in the fridge or freezer:D

I shall have to go and get some power to the laptop soon as the screen has gone a bit dark unless that is the brightness of the light from the sun:p

Shiney sorry to hear about your plant fruit getting eaten.I have had to resort to slug pellets at home or else we would have nothing left, although all the snails that i find alive on the plants I do repattriate into the recycling bin:D

I will have to weigh the tomatoes as they ripen so that I can tell you how much one weighs as they seem to be getting quiet large, although one of the plants has curled leaves with brown spots on it but don't know what is causing that problem. The fruit is still looking good though:p

Marley, good work with having the sweep visit. We have a nice coal{effect} fire but ours runs on gas so although still romantic we don't get any soot for the garden/lottie.Don't leave it so long next time to get it swept:D

Well time is marching on so had better go and finish my beans, then have to carry on emptying the two tonne bags of soil and green compost, then get the dinner ready for when the boss gets home:hehe:

    Good evening all. :autlv:

Glad you enjoyed the beautiful day Kandy, it has been cool and grey here.
Penny, wish we had your temperatures.
Woo I love the sound of going with the flow- was it good?
Shiney how disappointing to find woodlice in the aubergine, sounds a bit yuk. It sounds like you had a lovely time at the garden. OHs passenger today has a garden near Walcott on the coast which is open in the afternoons so we are going soon to have a look round :)
Hi Marley, I'm glad there wasn't too much mess with the chimney cleaning!

Today my friend turned up for a surprise visit and we talked without a break for three hours :hehe: We have been friends since we were sixteen so have a lot to talk about!

    Good morning everyone,

Jazmine sounds like you had a good afternoon with your friend popping in to see you, although I must say I wouldn't have been able to talk for three hours non stop without a drink or a wee:hehe:

Shiney when we were talking to the young couple the other day they told us they were given a 24 week build time on their house which would have given them until July,so they gave notice on the house they were renting to be out by then. The greedy builder then decided he wanted them completed and in the new house by June{which was nowhere near finished}and got quiet nasty with them.In the end they showed him proof that they were told July as a move in dateso they wanted to stay put until the house was finished properly and not rushed. He had to back down in the end:hehe:It is true what they say about money bringing out the worst in people:p

Anyway,I managed to get ten buckets of soil and the same in green compost ready for Mr Kandy when he got home last night so we spent a couple of hours filling another new border with the stuff so that is another one finished.Looking forward to putting in all the plants we have waiting in the wings{well down the side of the shed actually:D}while the ground is still warm:p

Hope you all have a great day:ywn::D

    Good morning everyone,

I've just got back from a short meeting and shall be off to another one, after a quick bowl of porridge.

Then I have to get out in the garden and finish picking runner beans (started picking them at 6.30 this morning) as I have orders for at least 15lb from today's bridge club members. I've got to be there at 1.30 p.m. so need to rush.

    Porridge is now ready :gnthb:

    Have a great day :D

What a change from yesterday, over-cast and a fine drizzle all morning, when it was very warm and sunny with hardly a cloud in the sky.

Twelve of us had a very pleasant day at Pryor-Hayes golf club near Chester. Made a change from playing our own course, we have these trips to other courses several times a year. The weather couldn't have been more different.
