Believe it or not, we had a roaring fire two nights ago (we have a large open wood fireplace) mainly to dry things out after the heavy rains these past ten days.

We couldn't be in a house that didn't have an open fireplace!

    Hi Gogs
nice to hear from you.We were going over to the allotment today, but decided this morning to do grocery shopping instead. After lunch and two lines of washing later,we decided to tidy up some of the garden out the back.My O/H dug out a conifer that had popped it's roots. It was a struggle getting it out and it was only four foot high.We both spent time clearing dead plant material, then I put some preservative on our garden seat ready for the winter.

Have you had a good day?
Have you got yourself a lap top or is it what you normally use?

Hi, Gogs! We've had a productive day clearing things out. A friend came around and took away our ancient Creda baby tumble drier (only goes one way) and our old LEC freezer as we brought back the new ones from the IoW. Also took some other things that were going to the animal charity shop ... there's still boxes going there of really good stuff so not diddling them.

Weather was great all day, sunny but very windy, blew the pink Brugmansia over twice and lost lots of new buds much to my chagrin!

Got two loads of wash done and dried, including K-G and hubby's linen as they arrive back with us tomorrow at noon, along with our friends as he takes her to the airport to return to the UK. He goes back on Tuesday after closing their apartment up. He's a Professor, an ex-colleague of mine, she's a SN teacher, lovely folk.

Have done the potatoes, green beans and carrots ready for lunch tomorrow, just have to pop the pots in the oven for 20 minutes and nuke the veg, then have Portuguese English sausages (excellent actually) and Italian spicy sausages which I'll cook with lots of onions, and gravy of course.

Planted some seeds and Candi jumped on what I was doing and the seeds flew all over the patio ... I wasa in tears as I'd soaked some since before we went to the UK ... t'other half came to the rescue and most was salvaged. Think I've been a bit stressed lately, what with my Dad dying and then our friend as we went to the UK, selling the apartment, the travel, visitors, etc, etc, etc ..... ooh, sorry, I'm rambling ...
