How many rats have you got and what type? I' ve got a hamster (I know it is nothing to brag about...) But i used to work in a pet shop and we had also rats: the whites which were mainly bought to feed snakes and would make like twenty babies each week in turn, and gerbils which as you must know they are very quick and if they run away not so pleasant to catch. They are very strong and they move a lot when you catch them and they are slippery and with a long tail..bleah.... The bad things about mice is that they smell quite a lot (at least the whites...)

I couldn't believe that rats are really affectionate creatures. We visited friends some years ago and nearly had a fit when we sat down to a Fish supper around the open fire and three rats appeared from a box in the living room! They made a beeline for us and we for the door :D
After the initial shock we even handled them and they loved to be petted...We decided there and then that our next pet would be...You've guessed it..A Dog [IMG]

Rats are seriously amazing creatures. I own a rattery, take rescues, and breed for a variety [breed] called Agouti Burmese for the National Fancy Rat Society.

I have a thread in hobbies you might find interesting!

Rats are incredibly intelligent and seriously loving. I couldnt be without them.

Yes Whiley,I've seen your thread and they seem friendly enough .However,I grew up on a Farm and of course it was not a creature that was considered domesticated...I will add though that yours do look a bit special ;)

Hi Lady, not too bad really, not painful just uncomfortable and now I'm sat here tubed up..or rather..down! and fingers crossed, answers at the end of the testing.
