Morning Woo and Marley,we missed those big storms Woo,though I did have to keep running outside to bring my washing in:rolleyes:I do hope the puppies and Gypsy were not too frightened:eek:

We have had some refreshing rain overnight,at least it watered the garden for me:thumb:My friend emailed me yesterday morning asking if i was going to the allotment but I said no if the weather was going to be too hot.In the end the temperatures reached 82f here and she emailed me later to say it was too hot down there for them.Glad I decided to stay indoors and got all my ironing done that needed doing.:D

Helen hope your feeling better today:thumb:

Shiney waht's all this about you being lazy....Never;):D

Marley, and Pal,I heard it on the radio quiet early yesterday morning and then watched it on the news last night.A lot of the people were crying that it had gone up.The news report said that it had burnt to the ground in the 1930's I think it was and the residents all helped to fund the rebuilding of it then. It had only just been refurbished by the new owners when this happened:( I hope that they can get it rebuilt again.I think the news report said it took three years to rebuild last time..

Hope everyone has a good day:)

    :thumb: Morning Kandy,
I hope they can re-build the Pier too, but time will tell. It had only just been refurbished & opened again after it changed hands 6 months ago to another family, after the previous family owning it for 60 odd yrs... The main problem will be whether any of it was insured as insurance companies don't really do Piers.... :(:( It is very difficult or almost impossible for any Pier owners to get insurance.. That's why most of them can never afford to get going again & we get the end of yet another Pier... Weston's was one of the busiest & best family Piers in the country apparently......:thumb: What a shame.. I do hope they can rise from the ashes so to speak....:(:thumb:

We had a BBQ yesterday evening for Himself and his shift mates so there was a lot of job-talking going on and everyone stayed till 10 pm which is late enough for a weekday.

The neighbours cats came over, as always, for the BBQ

Took us about 1 hr. to clear up and get to bed after eveyone had gone hom. Himself has gone to work with the rest of the cakes from yesterday so they can all have another taste of it again to-day.

The rain had been threatening but never materialised until sometime in the night and I could hear my garden saying a big "Thank You"

    Good morning all.

Thanks for the good wishes regarding my back guys thankfully I was able to shoot off to the allotment at breakfast time yesterday just to do an hour or so of work unfortunately I fell into the old trap of meeting with the guys down there for a little chat and being somewhat socialable (oh go on then I admit it a flirt!:D)

I spent 10 mins chatting to Ray, another 10 minutes chatting to Barry, 10 minutes working, another 5 minutes chatting to Ray (again) working another 15 minutes, 5 minutes chatting to Ray (yet again) and 5 minutes working away before packing up and starting to walk home.

Bumped into Old Joe (another ten minutes) told me about a pier that had caught on fire although he couldn't remember which one so off to talk to Mick because Joe told him which pier it was earlier, chatting away to Mick for 10-15 minutes Old Joe caught me up and finally set off for home in the company of Old Joe and then going home telling Bob I've pulled!:D
Don't think I'll be allowed to go many more times to the allotment on my own again!:(

Ste I'm sure your family are really chuffed for your nephew being given such a chance I just hope if he does make it in the football world it doesn't all go to his head although I could always send you my whip if you like to whip him back to shape! :D

Kandy, Marley we have been offered a tiller although we are not really sure if ones for us as we do intend to do gentle weeding through out the year and Ray next door who has a huge plot (3 into one) and has a tiller but rarely uses it so we don't want to waste money on yet another thing we don't use like the air compressor, welder, wacker plate etc. we have brought and which now sits in the out-house like some old trophy. Also we are unsure if our backs will cope with all the pulling that will involve using one:confused:

Anyway guys we have finally got some rain although no thunder storms and it's already started to dry out any chance of you guys sending us some more?:) Hel.xxx.

    Good morning everyone,

I guess it will be another hot sticky day but I shall get out there soon and do the edges of the lawns. :thumb:

Kandy, I didn't do much yesterday. did some weeding, picked beans, cut a hedge, went shopping, did some paperwork, spoke to Oscar, did a little cleaning in the garden room and cooked dinner. The rest of the time was spent reading and watching TV. If I have time to read and watch TV then I have been lazing around :thumb: :D

    Have a great day :D

    Hey Marley Mum!
It was amazingly wonderful, spent about a third of it in a wheelchair but that rarely limited me! Also saw my speicialist and have news there, but will post about that in the update!

How is everyone?? So many new names!
