Morning Shiney and all not forgetting that 'other' Shiney who likes to talk to himself!:hehe:

I have to admit I have had a lie in but as it's Sunday I think I will be forgiven.

Kandy I'm really sorry about your Sciatica darling, it is awful when all the doctor's advice is to keep things moving when all you really want to do is keep so still so you don't get another bolt of pain. I do truly hope your pain doesn't get unbearable for you sweetheart remember take baby steps if need be and of course take your time.

Shiney I can just imagine you playing at the tables like Mel Gibson in Maverick and have all the ladies after you although I should watch out they could be just after your chips! Glad you enjoyed the murder mystery I have to admit I wouldn't be able to act out so seriously I would surely get the sack because I would ham it up far too much but then again I would have so much fun!:D

Thanks also Shiney for the thumbs up about the home dialysis I mean if we are able to go along that road then Bob will be able to carry on as per normal and not be so held back with treatment.

Well goodness knows what we will be doing today so far it's looking good out but as I was a sleepy head this morning car boots are out today so I do hope I didn't miss too many bargains. Have a lovely Sunday guys.Hel.xxx.

    Morning Shiney and Helen:)

Shiney glad to hear that you enjoyed the Birthday celebrations.:) Didn't come on here earlier as I am usually on here first and don't like talking to myself:ywn: Have already been outside to sort out the animals, seen Mr K off to work, put the bird food back out for them and then had to get it back in when it started raining. At least with it raining I won't have to wash Myrtle like I was hoping to raedy for tomorrow:)

Have just been preparing the vegetables for today's dinner which is chicken and will have that when Mr K gets home late this afternoon.Looking forward to it,yummy:)

Helen it is the bony spur on the left side which is giving me jip at the moment and it means I can't sit or kneel down for long without pain or pins and needles when I stand up.It will ease off eventually if I keep mobile, though I am not one for sitting about at the best of times.I am just glad that it is only Sciatica and not of the more horrendous problems that people suffer from.

My friend emailed me the other day to say that while she was visiting a friend in Hospital last week who has Lung Cancer there was a lady in there who my friend used to work with who while having xrays done so that an assessment could be done for a pin could be put in her hip was found to have a tumor at the base of her spine. She now has to go through Cancer treatment as well as recovering from the pinned hip.Just think she would have been none the wiser if she hadn't have had those xrays done eeeek.

Well it is still raining and I have just finished my mug of tea so will now go and find something else to do.Have a great day:)

    Morning all.
Saturday, I was at a beautiful bridal shower for one of my staff members, she is so special to me. It was really nice. The theme was 1950's house wife, because she (only 23 years old) likes things just so. And also we had to bring a pair of sexy panties. Victoria Secret's stock must have rocked upward that weekend. She marrying a very nice person, he happens to be about 33 years old, poor guy, how tired he will be. The wedding is on Dec. 13, a Christmas wedding, its going to be beautiful. Its all white with white poinsettias and touches of deep reds. She is wearing a off white dress. The girls dresses are also deep red.
    I'll takes pics.

Happy late Birthday to you Shiney, nifty sixty. Wow, the party sounded very nice.

Raining, blowing here all weekend. Hope all is well. Have a good day.

    Good morning Shiney and everyone:)

Shiney can't you get to sleep again?Get back out into the garden and do lots more physical work and I can assure you you will sleep like a log:lollol::ywn::flag:

Red hope everything goes well for the bride and groom. Is your bridal showers similar to our engagement over here of the couple where they exchange rings or is this something different.? Not sure of American traditions myself.I saw on one of the American soaps once they had a baby shower but never heard of an American one.
Looking forward to seeing the photos:)

Well I have to take Myrtle to the garage for the day to have her service. Was hoping to wash her yesterday but I let the rain do it for me instead:wink:

Anyway, must go and get ready as we have to be there for 8am.Hope you all have a great day:luv:

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

Kandy, I hope Myrtle enjoys her time at her health spa :hehe:

I've been too busy to do a lot of gardening but I did manage to get all the grass cut. Three of us (plus Oscar) spent two hours clearing leaves on Wednesday so that I could get the mowing done. The mowing took four hours and I expect to have to mow the lawns again in about three weeks. Last year I did the last cut of the year in December and the first cut this year at the beginning of Feb. It seems to be non-stop nowadays.

    Have a great day :D

Morning Shiney, just got back from taking Myrtle to the garage and then Mr K gave me a lift back.I said I would walk the five miles back home but he insisited on giving me a lift back..bless:lollol::gnthb: Boo hoo I miss my little car already :cry:hope she misses me as well. The garage wanted to change her break fluid oil at a cost of £39 but as she has only done 6,000 odd miles in two years Mr K says it didn't need to be done.Hope he is right on that one:skp:

I think you need one of those ride on mowers Shiney or less grass to cut.Luckily our tiny front and back gardens only take a short time to cut.I am getting too old for spending hours making it look pretty:hehe:

By the way,are you going to be jetting off soon? Can't be long until your next long haul flight.:)

    Morning Shiney, Kandy and all.

Goodness knows what you are doing up at that time in the morning Shiney Are you a secret lemonade drinker...?:hehe: Seriously though I do hope you are getting enough sleep.

Kandy I hope your beloved Myrtle is returned as clean as she went.
Isn't it strange how when we name things if we love them they tend to be girl names and if they are a bit of a nuisance we name them after a boy or is that just me?:D

Well Bob and I managed to spend a couple of hours down on the plots yesterday and it was so hot we had to take our fleeces off, even though we only spent a short time there we did manage to do quite a bit needless to say none of our pals were knocking around so it was a case of less talk more work!

Off to the hospital shortly hopefully some of the fog will be replaced with facts that will steady our nerves and allow us to carry on enjoying ourselves as much as we do.
    See you guys.Hel.xxx.

Shiney,I Googled Cambodia the other week and I think I would rather be where I am going Thanks:flag:When are you going to show us your NZ piccys from last year?:gnthb:

Helen went over to see my leaf man Saturday afternoon and thought I would soon be finished the pile of leaves on the grass verge until he showed me the large pile inside the front gate, eeek.Funny though after I had finished my sciatica was killing me but after sleeping on it so to speak I woke up and it felt better.I think the good work out did it some good:) Couldn't get on the allotment yesterday as we had drizzle all morning and then I was getting the chicken sorted and cooked for when Mr K came back from work.

One of the memebers on here named my car for me and I have kept the name though I keep forgetting how to spell it.:lollol:

Good Luck at the hospital today and hope everyhting goes OK for all of you:)

Now I have finished me mug of Earl Gray so must get a move on.:)

    Good Morning all.
Shiney, your going to Cambodia?!, don't hear of too many folks traveling there, but did hear it was pretty. Hope you have a nice time.
There is to be a new travel book coming out soon--"Places not to travel to", forgot the author.
Kandy, American Bridal Shower is an event/party for just women, a luncheon usually, where the bride gets a lot of gifts she need for her future home. Usually she is registered somewhere by then. They usually play cute games so the guests can win prizes, and there usually is a theme. The bride sits in a chair of honor which is decorated using bridal veil, and flowers. Then the bows from the gifts are strung though a paper plate to fashion a hat with for the bride to wear. The gifts are opened in front of every one to oh and ha about.
The gifts are carefully noted by one of her bridesmaids for later thank you notes from the bride elect. It is at the wedding that the rings are exchanged, and of course more gifts left for the couple. If a family wants to have an additional party with gift giving, you can have an engagement party where you announce the engagement. I've never been to that kind, not too many people do it.

Leaves are everywhere here, and so cold, did not get out at all yesterday, stayed in and baked. I am hosting the Thanksgiving dinner here, so starting to fuss with house things.
This week at work will be a killer.
    Have a good day all.

Hi Whiley, Nice to see you back and I'm pleased the house is gradually getting done.

Red, Mrs shiney and I always promised ourselves that when we retired we would go to a lot of the out of the way places to see the scenery, history and lifestyles that are so different from ours. We want to do what we can whilst we are still able to do so.

This year we are going to tour through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and China :gnthb:. Amongst other places we have managed so far are Patagonia, Chile and through the Atacama Desert to Peru and Ecuador, Venezuela and up the Amazon in Brazil, through all the Central American countries and quite a lot of other places including Madagascar and Zanzibar (where I photographed my friendly avatar, a red colobus monkey in the rain forest). :) :) :)
