    Aloha everyone,

It's nice and cosy here indoors but not so good outside.

We're being put under pressure by Sarafi. He has been spending more and more time in our garden and following us around. Yesterday he started pestering us whilst we were indoors. When we were in the kitchen he had his nose stuck up against the glass of the back door and was miaowing. When we walked out of the kitchen towards the lounge he had run around the house and was at the front door miaowing as we walked through the hall! By the time we got into the lounge he had run back around the house and was peering in the French doors and miaowing!!! I suppose that's what comes of giving him scraps of meat

My foot isn't too bad but is still occasionally oozing plasma from one spot. At least it isn't suppurating ( @Zigs I only put that in as a bid for 'word of the week') :heehee:.

I went for AAA screening yesterday (no, I'm not alcoholic :heehee:). It's Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening. The NHS are supposed to now offer it to men when they reach 65 and to any man over that age if he asks - so I asked for it :). They have found that it can save many lives and help prevent premature death from an Aortic Aneurysm. It's just like an ultrasound check and is very simple.

Well, generally, it's very simple. I was a bit more awkward :rolleyespink:. They had trouble doing the scan because the nurse said that the picture was being obscured by wind! So she had to press very hard to try and get a reading through the wind. It wouldn't have been too bad but it took her 20 minutes of heavy pressing to get the reading . So now my upper stomach is rather sore.

I was given the all clear but found out that what friends and family have been saying about me is true. They've always said that I'm a bit twisted and the scan showed that where my aorta divides into the thoracic aorta it is at ninety degrees to the way it normally is!! so I'm, officially, twisted! :snork:

I think I'll put up a thread about AAA. :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

Morning all. Got a physio appointment first thing this morning, then going back to work after a four day lay off. It's pretty dull, damp and cold out there so going to put on plenty of thermal layers, can't be too careful at my age! :old:

Hope everyone is well and happy. :)

        Morning all

Horrible raw damp cold this morning, but at least no rain.

Hope your physio goes well Trunky but also hope you're not rushing back to work too soon.

:snork: at Shiney being officially twisted. Pleased you got the all clear but that scan sounded really uncomfortable.

Our heating is playing up so waiting in for a plumber to turn up. It's too cold a house to have no heating so hope he comes soon.

Take care everyone and stay warm

Gosh it is so miserable cold out there, just got back from walking Amber again and we both got wet again. Don't mind the cold but don't like the rain with it.

          Good morning everyone,

Woo...your post has set me up with the first big grin of the day, thank you:biggrin::dbgrtmb:

Shiney..Glad you got the scan out of the way, sorry it was uncomfortable though.A worthwhile check up  hope you got rid of the wind one way or another:whistle:

Moyra...You certainly need wrapping up now when dog walking,it was bitter yesterday:dbgrtmb:

          Trunky..Hope the physio went OK...

Eve ..Have you got your heating sorted out? I hope so:fingers crossed:

Last lap today then the weekend off:yahoo: I'll be able to get out in the garden:thumbsup: can't do anything in the house yet until the builders are finished and it's in total chaos:rolleyespink:.
:rolleyespink:First job out there will be to take the polythene up off the lawn for the weekend, the builders said they would do it but I'd rather they did the more important jobs. They had put it down to work on so the sawdust from the cutting didn't go on the lawn.I say lawn:rolleyespink: with the scaffold being up round the back of the house they've had to do detours across the grass and it's suffering really badly, they're very apologetic but it's not a problem they've got a job to do, it can't be helped.

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

Loli, I do not envy the muddle with the builders but it cannot be helped only endured.

                Aloha everyone,

Woo, your cheerfulness ahs brought the sun out now. :)

Loli, the lawn will recover fairly quickly. :blue thumb: We have that problem each year with 400+ people walking backwards and forwards around our plant sales table.

Moyra, it's a good morning for walking if you're wrapped up warmly. :dbgrtmb:

Eve, I hope you're nice and warm now.

Trunky, don't rush back to work if you're back isn't up to it. More of this might help :snooze:

Zigs, don't drink the antifreeze! :hate-shocked:

I've booked to have our cess pit emptied and hope they come today as it's dry and bright. Our drains have been backed up for a week. I need to be around when he comes as I have to make sure he does the job properly. Apart from draining the tank I need to get him to lift all the manhole covers and suck out any gunk. Then I need to rod through and then flush it all. I have to make sure he hangs around whilst I do that, but he's usually very good. It just depends on whether they have a new operator or not.

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

Aloha to inside out Woo and everyone,

Woo, a lovely Christmas tree but I expected to see an owl on top of the tree. :)

It's very icy out there at the moment so I hope the students get here OK. Mrs Shiney is a bit under the weather (cough and cold) but has students all weekend - and we have guests for dinner tomorrow night.

The drain man turned up yesterday but was very grumpy. :th scifD36: He arrived nice and early and I went out to meet him. He was standing in the middle of the driveway doing nothing and not looking happy. I asked him if there was a problem and he grumped "I was hoping this job wasn't here". :hate-shocked:

Not a good start to the job. I asked what the problem was and he said it was where the tank is situated. What he was really meaning was that he needed to connect 50 metres of pipe to get from the lorry to the tank. My answer was "Well, if you don't like it you can go away again". He grumped off and started getting the pipes.

He did the job fairly quickly and did it OK, but I rodded and hosed down the inspection tanks whilst he worked as I just wanted to get rid of him. I don't like grumpy people on the premises as it creates a bad aura. Even the birds seem to get affected by it.

I normally give the man who does the job a fiver tip but didn't this time. Mrs Shiney had said that I shouldn't give a tip but I'd already decided not to. I was still hosing down the patio when he came to be paid and Mrs Shiney gave him the cheque. He apologised for his mood, as he knew that I was annoyed, and went away. As he apologised I didn't phone his boss and complain.

The last man that did the job not only did all the tanks, rodding, and hosing through but also hosed the patio afterwards. He got a cuppa, a piece of cake and a tenner tip. :blue thumb:

I hope all of you that have been under the weather are improving :grphg:

                    Have a great day

                    Aloha!

                            Good morning everyone,

Ee it's a cold one this morning. Feel like going back to bed but I don't think Amber would think much of that as she awaits her walk.
Have a good one everybody, stay safe, warm and dry and above all well. God bless.:wub2:
