@shiney , thats a great amount, well done ! :dbgrtmb:

Another wet start here, but they say it will dry up later, lets hope so, my plants don't have swimming costumes.

    Morning,
Well what a start I had today !:dunno:
As we were making the bed, a cable had come loose, and you guessed it...

Hands, knees, and bumpsedaisy all cropped it.
All brushed off, but I think tomorrow will tell all.:th scifD36:

Otherwise, hope one and all and good day.:spinning:

    Aloha everyone,

Thanks, Loli, Moyra, Lili, "M", Steve and LWW :blue thumb:

Raffle now sorted. All but two of the prize winners have been contacted (finished that at 9.30 last night) and will pick up their prizes at various times. The two I couldn't get to speak to have had emails sent.

Car port, summerhouse and patio has now been cleared and cleaned. The last of the tables and chairs taken away last night, police cones, banners etc. are back in storage and today we're taking the marquee back to the farm where it's stored (I have a team of helpers for that).

All my thank you emails have gone to the helpers, entertainers, people who made cakes etc. All the village magazines have been sent the report of how well we did and the thanks to all the organisations put in it (such as Festival Committee, village hall etc.). The press have been round for an interview and I've given them photos - it all helps with getting publicity for next year.

My chiropodist is on holiday but will be back on Friday. Although his appointment book is chocka his secretary has squeezed me in at noon :). He's a very nice man and he has a delightful little daughter. The other year, when she was not quite four, he sent me a photo of here standing on the top of one of the Lake District fells with a big grin on her face and holding my book up for the camera. They'd followed the walk in my book and had a good time doing it. :dbgrtmb:

Mrs Shiney has had to work on my foot as I was finding it difficult to walk. The lump had grown from being pea size to being double that! She, carefully, drained all the goo out and disinfected it and put one of her magic potions on it. It came up again, not so big, and she has done it again. It's not too bad today and I'm only limping a little bit. He'll sort it out on Friday so that I can go walking next week.

It drizzled all day yesterday and looks set to do so again today. When I got back from bridge yesterday at 5.30 p.m. Mrs Shiney was nowhere to be seen :hate-shocked:. I, eventually, found her down in the veg patch planting veggies in the rain

We had another power cut just before midnight so I was straight on to the leccy board to get their finger out and sort it! Trouble at the sub-station - again! Was back on by 1 a.m. and then had to sort out all our clocks and timers and sympathise with the freezer which wasn't very happy :heehee:

Apart from sorting the marquee out I'm going to sit in my office, with music playing and copious cuppas, and do a set of accounts. I still do them for some of my ex-employees (a freebie) and deal with their accountants for them :blue thumb:

    Have a great day

    Aloha!

    Good Morning all,

Shiney, I do not know how you manage to accomplish so much.

My blood tests reveal that my kidneys are no worse than they were last year so no need to go back to the consultant. I am anaemic though and this combined with the diabetes is what is causing me to be so tired all the time but also the pain I am in will do this as well. He says if it helps I could have morphine for the pain but I declined it as I think tramdol as an opiate is bad enough. But he has said if necessary I can leave the statins off for a week or so and see how I go. I think I may have to do this because the pain has been so bad lately.

Have a good day everyone, God bless. :wub2:

Moyra, quite a lot of people get aches and pains when on statins, so it may help coming off them.

A recent report by one of the universities of some research they did said that the side effects were nowhere near as bad as previously thought. Unfortunately, when an eminent medical expert in the field asked to see the data that they had drawn their conclusions from, they refused. So he said that until he has evidence otherwise he will still caution his patients. I heard the interview with him :blue thumb:

    Good Morning everyone,

Shiney...It must seem lovely and peaceful in your garden now after the excitement of the weekend:wub2:...Your foot sounds painful :ouch1:...a day at your desk might just be the ticket, even though it still won't stop you from working...I've probably asked you before:rolleyespink: but what is the title of your book please? it sounds right up my street:blue thumb: as long as there's no walks through fields with cows in:runforhills:...That sounds typical of Mrs Shiney, still out there 'doing':love30:...

Moyra.. Good news you don't have to go back:thumbsup: but not nice to be in pain, you take care:dbgrtmb:

LWW...Don't you be getting under the decorators feet:old::heehee:...

    Lili...Hope you're OK and haven't hurt yourself:blue thumb:

    HG..Hope the Job's going OK:thumbsup:

    Woo..Wishing all the Woo's well:thumbsup:

Well, got the pump set up in the garden again, there's a couple of low spots that are ankle deep with this constant rain and takes forever to drain away on it's own.I like to get rid of it as it's a magnet for the dogs and chooks to paddle in and they end up destroying the lawn if I'm not careful:rolleyespink:...
I've plenty to do in the GH but with all the plants in there I can't fit in:doh:The tomatoes desperately need planting up but the staging has to come down first which is easy enough as it's hinged to the side of the GH but it's finding a space to put them in the mean time ,total chaos but it'll get done:thumbsup:

Waves to all, take it easy and take care:SUNsmile:

I would be interested to know as well, I am presuming that it is a book of walks in various parts of these wonderful Isles of ours.

It's called 'Favourite Lakeland Walks' but I've now withdrawn it from the wholesalers and, therefore, the shops. Since last year I've been giving the books to the galleries up there to put on their counter and to sell them for a £1 donation to Mountain Rescue. They have the donation box alongside.

Loli, you should have asked me for one when you were here as I have some boxes of them.

My others, of Hawaii and Colorado, are no longer in print.

You should be able to guess where this was taken. :heehee:

Morning all, hope you are well.

The new assignment is going well, a lot more on the driving side, but thats ok. People I am working with seem nice.

It has finally stopped raining, although there is more forecast for later :gaah:

          Have a great day.
