    Black Friday is OK by us.

    Mrs Shiney decided that our 30 year old washing machine needed replacing. So I did some research, yesterday, and came up with one that she likes and it had a very good review.

    So I started phoning around the shops near us. It was still only Thursday so they weren't too busy. I found one that I was able to persuade a largish discount from ("You're going to get a head start on Black Friday with this deal") and then got him to chuck in free fitting and free taking away of the old one. Total saving - 20%. Sorted! :blue thumb: Delivery on Wednesday.

    Don't forget to handle your bits from Laodikeia with rubber gloves :heehee: (Originally built by King Antiochus)

              Well spotted. It does look like a copper pipe but is actually a copper coloured electrical lead for the drill that the man was using.

                          It's a tad nippy out there this morning but the sun is burning off the frost :blue thumb:

                          We seem to have an overflow pipe dripping and being a devout non-DIY person I'll have to phone a friend to find out what to do about it. :scratch:

                          We've given one of our impromptu invites to dinner to some friends. Just picked up the phone yesterday and told them to pop round today. Then I had to rush around working out what to do :doh:. I had a chiropodist appointment, shopping to do, bridge club to go to and Mrs Shiney had patients and some glassware to make! All sorted now :dbgrtmb:. The meal will be simple. I made a veggie broth (lots of veggies with barley) at 3 a.m. and shall make a chicken casserole later and serve it with mustard mash. We picked some apples and shall be making an apple and mixed fruit compote. :hapydancsmil:

                            There's a chill in the air this morning but it's bright :dbgrtmb:

                            My cat seems to have got very elderly all of a sudden, he adopted us in 1998, he literally turned up & moved in! We don't know how old he was before he moved in but we've had him 18 years. He doesn't want to go outside anymore but he still runs around the house like a mad thing! He's eating & drinking & still chases a piece of string! I hope he's going to be alright. :fingers crossed:

                            It's the annual Christmas fayre in Bury St Edmunds this weekend, apparently it's been really busy, I'm pleased it's been so successful for the town, I don't think I'm going to go, I'm working later, helping a friend this evening then working for hubby tomorrow :phew:. I'd like to make a start on the Christmas decorations if I get time :santa wave:.
