Aloha everyone, (says he, typing quietly and in the dark, so as to not wake Mrs Shiney :heehee:)

Moyra, I hope you're feeling better today. :blue thumb:

After a lot of rain this morning we had plenty of sunshine in the afternoon. I did a bit of weeding and then prepped some of the ground for Mrs Shiney to put some bean plants in.

I think I shall put my feet up for a couple of hours. Then I've got a lot of things to do before the man comes with the sludge lorry at 7 a.m. to empty our drains and cesspool. I've got the clothes peg ready, for my nose! :heehee: He has to drain the tank and then we have to lift all the manholes, suction those out, hose everything down and make sure they are running clear and then put the manhole covers back. He'll have to do the lifting of the covers as they have paving stones set into them. Too heavy for me nowadays.

The whole (hole :snork:) job should take less than an hour and costs just over £100. I usually give him a fiver tip (unless it's the grumpy man that turned up last time). If most people tip him he should get well over £100 a week in tips - and it's well deserved, for doing such a smelly and mucky job.

Sleep well and I'll see you in the morning.

Good Morning everyone, it is bright enough out there at the moment, not sure how long it is going to last so must get Amber out early and get her walk done with then it can rain if it wants to for a couple of hours until her next walk around 12 noon. I have a Sainsbury delivery just after 9 o'clock so will be ready for that. Hope all the poorlies are well or on the mend. My shoulder is still playing up, I have tried doing an up and over with it but it doesn't want to know.
Have a good day everyone, God bless. :wub2:

No Pics this morning for some reason it is not working! I have noticed the site is not behaving as it should lately.

        Morning early people :)

That reminds me Shiney, when I was little I lived with an uncle and aunt for a while, my uncle Graham used to grow tomatoes and fed them from a big tank that he said was full of sheep's wee.

Met up with him at a funeral a few years back and asked him what it actually was, he said he's found an old septic tank and was pumping that up to feed the tomatoes

Despite being may, we'm getting april showers and rainbows here

Have a good day everyone :)

          Morning all:spinning:

          Lovely sunny morning here.

Well, I told him,(OH) If you don't look after your teeth, it will come
back to bite you:snork:. Visit to the dentist..... he has to go the hygienist (£200).
He was not happy with denture, so if he wants a new one(metal) £800. He has to have
a small root out which was left in by the previous dentist as she could not pull out
it all out, and a filling £40.:thud:

I had a terrible night again with my back and leg pain, none of the pain relief
I took before I went to bed touched it, I had to resort to Oramorph, I was given
a bottle when I was in hospital. It helped, as least I got a bit more sleep.

Hope everyone has a good day:imphrt:

            Aloha all,

Moyra and Lili, I hope you're feeling better later :grphg:

Back in the good old days we were allowed to pump the liquid off our cesspool into the field (I think one of the neighbours still does it, surreptitiously). We used to have an upright pump fixed to the top of the tank and it had an 'up and down' pump handle on it. Everyone used to do it when the farmer was muck spreading.

We have a lovely sunny morning today but they've forecast rain again.

            Another busy day!

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha!

Mrs Shiney is out now at Pilates but on the way back will be doing shopping for Open Day. Fruit and veg for the Pimms, ingredients for the sandwiches (bread, I'll buy on Thursday), lots of lemonade for the Pimms, tea, coffee, sugar, clear plastic wine cups for Pimms, paper plates, serviettes etc.

I'm collecting some tables today, from the village hall, some tomorrow and some on Friday (the others are being delivered with the chairs). I have to pick up the urn, teapot, coffee pots, jugs on Friday night (after midnight) and then take the urn back to the hall on Saturday evening ready for all the cyclists who are starting and finishing their big race at the hall. Then pick up another urn from the church hall, after they've finished their coffee morning, and return it in the evening. Tables and pots and jugs go back to the hall on Sunday evening as well. :phew:

It has been the pits here today. Have been diving in and out of the weather system. Did manage to get my lawns mowed this morning. Glad to have walked Amber three times today in and out of the showers and thunderstorm. Am going to collapse into bed early again tonight. Probably about 7pm. Still not on top of the world.........but then who is at our age? Goodnight all, God bless. :wub2: Good_Night_57.gif
