Hi @Beckie76 you do know that a smile is infectious:heehee:

        Smiling is infectious

You catch it like the flu

When someone smiled at me today

        I started smiling too

        I walked around the corner

        And someone saw me grin

        When he smiled I realised

I had passed it on to him

        I thought about the smile

        And then realised its worth

        A single smile like mine

        Could travel round the earth

So if you feel a smile begin

        Don't leave it undetected

        Start an epidemic

        And get the world infected.

                    Aloha everyone,

I went to put on my gardening shoes early this morning (they're a pair of walking shoes, not allowed to wear wellies any more, that I keep by the back door) and there was a nest of baby spiders in one of them :) I've now got to work out how to get them out without hurting them . Does anyone know how long it is before they leave the nest?

We're busy every day for the next week with lunch or dinner guests so I've got to start planning the menus and shopping. :phew:

Part of our holiday was a river cruise with lots of organised visits to historical sites and to vineyards to see how they made wine, Port and Muscatel. Mrs Shiney and I also went shopping to a local market with the chef from the boat. A very interesting morning with him explaining about all of the produce that came from the local farms.

We also went to a little bakery to see how the local bread was made. The bakery was just two small bread ovens (over 100 years old) and one woman doing all the baking. We tasted the bread (fantastic) and spread it with her home made apricot jam. Yum Yum.

The library that I showed on the previous page was the inspiration for J K Rowling in one of her books. She lived in Porto for about 10 years and wrote a lot of one of her books in their café upstairs. They also used the shop as a location to film Ollivander's magic wand shop. A lot of other places around there gave her inspiration for her book (railway station, castles etc.).

                    Have a great day

                    Aloha!

                      Are we all on form?

It's dry at the moment out there and the chooks are up and doing,Mabel is trying to be a cockerel again:heehee:...she's stood on her little bench with her neck stretched out making a feeble attempt to crow:rolleyespink:
There's a bit of pottering in order before that rain gets here again but it's looking good for the weekend:dbgrtmb:

                        Aloha everyone,

Another sunny day in the offing.

We got a lot done in the garden and shall get some more done today. :blue thumb:

The eight of us that went to the wilds of Turkey in February are having a reunion today. The others all live in London and are coming out for lunch at a pub two villages away from us. Should be good :)

I've got to try and get into town today to get my glasses fixed as one of the nose pads has broken. I don't think that they make these frames any more and don't make any frames that will fit my lenses. So I hope they can fit a new pad (or pads). :fingers crossed: To get new frames would mean having new lenses made (eyes were tested about a month ago and hadn't changed) and my type of lenses cost a few hundred pounds :hate-shocked:

Sarafi insisted on joining in last night with the supper that Mrs Shiney and her group had in the summerhouse :snork: I was out playing bridge.

                        Have a great day

                        Aloha!

                          Good Morning everyone,

Nice morning out there but none too warm yet.........it will get there. This chaos at Calais is beyond a joke. I think we must spread the word that Britain is no longer an easy ride for immigrants.
I hope everyone is ok out there and surviving. God bless. :wub2:

Me, I'm not a happy bunny :noidea:, went to the doctors, now have to
have an appointment for the Rheumatoid Arthritis clinic as pain
is now worse. New review of painkillers again. Hey ho:whistle:

Still, the sun is shining, that will uplift my spirit, will have a wander
around the garden shortly, to see what has grown overnight to be
picked. Had some fresh greens last night with our dinner, and there
is just nothing like it, it just melted in your mouth.

                              Good evening All,
I've had a busy day 'off' lots of washing, a trip to the accountants :snooze:, trip to the bank, sports shop for trainers, jewelery shop for a look :) & various other chores around the town. My best friend popped in with her children who were so badly behaved :mute:, I've done a few bits & bobs at home, tomorrow I have a skip coming to clear all the junk :dbgrtmb:, I have a big pile of junk on the drive which I've been sorting out the last few weeks! :dbgrtmb:
I hope you are all well & have enjoyed your day. Fingers crossed for some sunshine tomorrow.
:snooze:Night night sleep tight & watch the bed bugs don't bite! :heehee:
