Good morning @moyra and everyone, hope that you all have a good day.

We should have learned the RAIN DANCE for Sunday, at least England may have scraped a draw!!!

        Aloha everyone,

We certainly had some heavy rain at 4.30 a.m. but it's dry at the moment. According to the weather people we have a week of wet and windy weather to come.

The drive home went very smoothly and my car (good boy :pathd:) warned me of the overturned vehicle that was blocking the A1. So he took me around the problem on a nice scenic journey through Blyth. @lykewakewalker I bought my car (7 years ago) from a dealer near you that gave me a fantastic deal, with a bit of negotiation :snork:. It was Mill Garages, Harrogate :blue thumb:. We did the deal over the phone, they gave me an extra £4,000 off (compared to all my local dealers) and delivered the car to me. Excellent service

I thought I would come home to a finished crop of beans as they were already coming to an end. I'd picked everything in sight so they didn't get too big and start to go to seed by the time we came home. It seems to have worked as I was able to pick 10lb of beans, but I'm not sure how much longer they will continue to crop.

There are dozens of large windfall cooking apples to pick up, the 'black' plums are ripe and pears need picking. So a lot of the day is already accounted for.

Sarafi wouldn't leave us alone and couldn't get enough cuddles (we're not sure whether he gets much in the way of cuddles at home ) and loved it when Mrs Shiney picked him up :cat-kittyandsmiley:. When I was in the greenhouse picking chillies he was in and out of my legs and then jumped up on to the bench and got between me and the plants and stuck his head against my chest. :)

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

          Good morning All,

Very wet & dull here, My sundance doesn't seem to be helping! :hapfeet:Let's hope it brightens up later.
Still no sign of my fruit cage  I will give them another day then I shall be chasing them up! :nonofinger:. I had an email to say it had been despatched, I guess I waiting for the courier.
I've been collecting the Meercats from the insurance company & I'm pleased to report I now have the whole collection! Not sure what I'm going to do with them....prehaps one day they will be worth something being a complete set, in original boxes with paperwork!?
          The hens are behaving themselves.
I'm now off to earn a shilling! :)
Have a good day folks :hapydancsmil:

He wasn't throwing it away. I was helping him make his quarterly quota. :blue thumb: He got 1/4% bonus on all sales for the quarter as I brought his total up to the bonus level, with only one day to go. :) A grand total of 20% discount plus an additional £1,500 worth of extras. (I would never pay that for the extras!! :nonofinger:)

Good morning all from a very wet WY. I have just spent 10 minutes searching for Baileys "Muddy Paws" raincoat, I couldn't take him out without it this morning.

Thank you @shiney, I thought that there would be a good reason ;)

Have a good day all if you can.

Good morning everyone, not looking good out there but I guess I shall have to get Amber out for her walk. Going to keep her on her dry meal only today as yesterday she was sick again.

I was offered my flu jab for today but turned it down until next Monday didn't want any side affects to affect my audiology tests tomorrow. Not that it would but better to be on the safe side.

Hope everyone is well. Take care all, have a good day. God bless. :wub2:

                    Aloha everyone,

@lykewakewalker I'm pleased that I managed to alleviate your fears of a lapse in Yorkshire fiscal awareness. :snork:

It's brightening up out there now :blue thumb: so I'll go out and continue harvesting. Picked loads of stuff yesterday. :)

We had another power cut yesterday . That's the fifth one in three weeks and the twelfth this year. I'm on first name terms with the staff at customer services at the power company :heehee:. They now phone me with regular updates on progress by their engineers.

Although they got us back on power fairly quickly they haven't solved the problem :dunno:. It was a fault in the very high power cable but they can't seem to be able to find it so they have rerouted the power for 6,000 homes. They had another fifty power poles to check by the time it got dark. If they still can't find I they will overfly the area by helicopter and use some highly sophisticated detection equipment to try and breaks or hotspots.

If they still can't find the fault (it could have been a tree branch falling across the lines and shorting out the system) they'll reconnect the system and hope for the best - but have emergency crews spaced out along the line with detection equipment.

I've had a bit of fun and games trying to renew my passport on line. They asked whether the photo in my current passport is a good likeness of me now. As it is, I ticked the box and was relieved that I didn't need to bother with getting photos done. When I printed out the Declaration that I was supposed to sign and send to hem it said they wanted two photos .

So I phoned them and asked them why, as I had ticked the box. The woman said everyone has to send the photos and I asked her what the purpose of the question was. She said she doesn't know but she's always getting people phoning and asking the same question . So I've complained to customer services about the, apparently, nonsensical question:old::heehee:

I'm still catching up on paperwork after our holiday but I'm not getting into the swing of things yet :noidea:.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                      Good morning my friends, :dbgrtmb:

Lots of good news from me today :hapydancsmil:, fruit cage arrived yesterday, I'm beside myself with excitement :heehee:, hubby ordered me a new phone case which arrived this morning, not my birthday until tomorrow but Kev said I could have it today:blue thumb:, then a letter in the post from my bank giving me £50 compensation! (I had really dreadful customer service from my bank earlier in the year & made a complaint, we will leave the grotty details in the past where they belong!). So all in all lots of nice things :dbgrtmb:
It's really dull & raining here but I'm doing my best to keep everyone's spirits high! :hapydancsmil:
There's still lots of plants on flower in the garden which is really nice. :spinning:
I hope you are all on top form.
                      Enjoy your day :hapfeet:

                        Afternoon all:spinning:

After a miserable start, the sun came out, only for a while though. :spinning:

Now gone miserable again. Adrian, the gardener is here, so I cannot go
out into the garden for a while, so I am going to get on with bottling my runner
beans, all 8Lbs of them. :help: That should suffice us through the winter.:blue thumb:

My son Adrian has a thing on Facebook 'Gofundme', so I donated him £50 for his
first book. :wow: He has also been headhunted for a company in Abingdon, not far from
where he lives in Oxford, he has had 2 interviews, he has another one today, he said
he would call me, to let me know how it went. :fingers crossed::fingers crossed: He could with something to cheer
him up, he has an awful couple of years.:noidea:

Ah well, hope you all have a good 'rest of the day'
