Hi @shiney I think that we are both far to modest to do something like that, but perhaps @"M" would like to on our behalf:heehee:

My dear friends, Messrs @wiseowl and @shiney as honoured as I am by being included, and as much as I would love to be of assistance, it has been declared that I am enduring depreciation not appreciation today.

Besides, you both set such high standards, I fear I cannot aspire to such dizzy heights :love30:

                    Aloha everyone,

We went to a barbeque last night and the weather stayed good enough for everyone to remain outside until the end at 10.30 p.m. :blue thumb:

I shall get out into the garden and carry on with a lot of clearing up and weeding. :phew:

Mrs Shiney is gradually improving and was able to potter around in the garden for a short while yesterday.

I hope she wasn't disturbed too much in the night by the workmen digging up the road outside. They've been at it since 6 p.m. yesterday. All the neighbours to one side of us and a couple the other side lost their power yesterday morning :rolleyespink:. The electricity board (I still use that old term :old:) tried rerouting the power whilst they struggled to find the fault. Apparently our area is on three phases with the houses being split between all three. So they were able to reroute some of the houses onto one of the other phases. They found a fault in the overhead cables but fixing that didn't put everything right. Nice neighbour has been off the grid now for 18 hours and they're still working on it.

They came along at 5 p.m. yesterday with all their tracing equipment and eventually found a large break in the cables under the road. Then they called out the big boys! By 6 p.m. there were eleven vehicles outside, plus a digger, and when we got home from the BBQ there were four vehicles and the digger still there and our driveway was blocked by a trench in the road. Fortunately we have a second entrance (we're posh :heehee:).

There have been bright lights (very bright), compressors going and the digger still working all night. I've been providing tea and coffee every two hours since 11 p.m. :dbgrtmb: All gratefully received.

They haven't quite reached up to the part of the road, outside our other entrance, where the water board have marked off the area to be dug up to fix the water leak!! The water leak is not the cause of the problem but they think that the high power surge that they pump down the line to help sort out the overhead cable problem may have blown the cable underground  They've supplied the neighbour with a mini generator.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                          Good morning all WW'ers

Gosh Shy Knee, I'm almost tempted to set up a road work outside of yours next time I'm en route to Lincoln: cuppa every couple of hours? Yes please! :roflol:

@wiseowl - not sure what an uncapped oil well must feel like, but a smile is on my face just in case someone sees me before I see them

@Zigs - tea towels? You do live in weird area we have beach towels here (does that make me double posh, seeing as I have two entrances to my home too: front and back! :heehee: ). What on earth are you going to do with them? :rolleyespink:

Wishing you all a blessed day with miles of smiles and healing vibes xxMxx

We used to have people coming round the houses selling tea towels and other sudry items. Maybe @Zigs is going to do that. :)

                              Leccy men gone :blue thumb:

Sun shining brightly and it's warming up quickly. Done an hour of weeding and shall go back out soon.

                                Morning all:spinning:

Up at a silly o'clock during the night, let Shadow out for a late pee, he came back
ran in the sitting room, seemed to be some time, went to look, he was only
scoffing a small portion of coconut and chocolate slice that my husband had left on
the table next to where he sits. :nonofinger: There were 2 slices, I only hope my husband ate
                                the other one.

Busy day yesterday, went to dentist for a filling, ended up having a three done, the
dentist started, and kept going:help: , mind you she did a lovely job, you cannot
see the difference. I also had to have a tooth extracted, the gum had receded so
far down, that nearly 3/4 of the tooth was exposed. Ah, well, I shall have a new
metal plate just before Christmas, something to look forward to.
