            Aloha everyone,

We've, finally, got some rain. I was thinking of rushing out into the garden and running around naked :yikes: but restrained myself. :snork: Instead, I sat and watched the thunder and lightning through the night - a magnificent display. The ground shook :blue thumb: Well, I think it was the thunder that caused it! :heehee:

We have hundreds of apple and pear windfalls - not due to the storm but to the hot weather. Mrs Shiney has picked up all the pears and put them on the compost heap. We seem to be creating a vicious circle because we keep getting wasp nests in the compost heap.

Nice neighbour has told me that they have now found a buyer for their house so I hope the new neighbours will be nice as well. They're moving to a little village near Ross on Wye.

I have my regular appointment with the hygienist today. I'll have to ask her what the new dentist is like as my dentist has left the practice. She'll chat to him about me as she knows that I get annoyed when the first thing a new dentist says to me is "We'll just do an x-ray of your teeth" (it always happens ). I have nothing wrong with them and don't think that a dentist should take an x-ray unless they suspect there is a problem.

This happened a few years ago with Mrs Shiney, as well. She gets more annoyed than I with this sort of thing and said so in no uncertain terms :heehee:. She hadn't even got inside the dentist's door when the woman said 'the words'. Her response was "You haven't even looked in my mouth and you're saying I should have an x-ray!!! Cancel my appointment as I have no confidence in you." and she went and complained to the practice manager and asked to be moved to another dentist.

I think the practice manager tried to tell her that there's no harm in having an x-ray. Also the wrong thing to say! :rolleyespink: Her answer was "Then why do they leave the room when taking it?" :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha!

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

We're still waiting for the promised rain here, it's supposed to arrive later today. Can you send it our way @shiney as my garden is parched.

Mrs Trunky had a bit of a restless night after yesterday's op, she's taking it easy in bed this morning. The two kittens are upstairs keeping her company and helping speed the recovery.

I feel a little guilty actually, as I slept soundly all night long, completely undisturbed by her restlessness. I must admit it's been pretty hard going at work in this hot weather this week, so I guess that, and a hectic day yesterday finally caught up with me. :snooze:

Like you Shiney, our apple tree has been dropping lots of unripe fruit due to the hot dry weather and we've been adding them to the compost heap too. In our case though, it hasn't attracted too many wasps, but lots of huge slugs instead. :hate-shocked:

Hope you get some more progress with the kitchen today @moyra.

                Have a good day everyone.

Managed to declutter my office yesterday (still too few shelves for everything, but, that will all come in time) only for youngest son to ask if he could fill it with the boxes from the loft which he needs to take to Swansea for his final year  Some days it really is two steps forward and one step back around here :heehee:
