I don't know whether our village is doing anything for the birthday, apart from having the Festival on the village green, but we don't have enough streets to have a party in them.

I clearly remember the Coronation party we had and have interesting memories of it. We flew a large Royal Standard flag from an upstairs window and had a radio blaring out music from the windowsill alongside.

          Good Morning everyone,

Well today's the day I go for my biopsy. Steve has come round to thinking that perhaps he should come with me and wait for me and bring me home. That's a relief. As long as he doesn't change his mind before we get there!

Have a good day everyone, take care keep warm and dry and above all safe and well,
          God bless. :wub2:

            Aloha everyone,

I have another busy day today after my meetings yesterday. I'd done most of the emails that I had to get done about them by 4 a.m. this morning. :phew:

I'll have a walk to the village and back this morning, then get some mowing done and then off to the exhibition, Public Health England are building a £400 million research facility in the nearest town, this afternoon.

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha!

              Good evening everyone,

I hope you are all well?

I've had a really busy day & very little mobile network, tea break was really dull not being able to have a quick peek at the forum.

The day started off with beautiful sunshine but it turned very overcast & chilly this afternoon.

@moyra, you've been on my mind all afternoon, I was certainly with you in mind :grphg:, I very much hope that your visit to the hospital went well & you are now back home tucked up in bed having a good rest :grphg:. Do let us know the results once you get them won't you? I hope Steve took you in the end :grphg:

I brought the hanging baskets back in the house tonight just Incase of a frost, it's really turned chilly this evening.

Goodnight everyone, sleep tight & watch the bed bugs don't bite :snooze:

Good morning all my friends hope you are all OK on this Bonus of a Saturday morning, yes we are still looking for a car for Mrs Woo :phew::heehee: she has now decided that she would like a car with an automatic gear change,I might add after driving manual cars for 30 years, I have no dealings with automatic gear change, so I am wondering perhaps if it would be best for my good lady if she had just one lesson in helping her to change over, what do you think:dunno: anyway I digress ,have a lovely day and please take care:smile:

@moyra hope everything went well at the hospital and that you are alright:grphg:

Good morning everyone, well I survived the ordeal and what an ordeal it was as I had forgotten to take the painkillers they recommended before I went. Steve took me, saw me inside and then waited for me in the car park. Unfortunately, I have three rather large Polyps that need to be removed. It is only 8 years since I had the same operation before. I asked what the chances were they would grow back again and he said he didn't know but they would do a biopsy on them and see if there is anything to worry about. I said how long I would have to wait and he said only a couple of weeks. So that's a relief and Steve says he will take me again and then come home walk Amber and come back to pick me up later when I am released to go from the hospital.

Had a very restless night but I think Shineyland is going to be out for me again this year. I was so looking forward to seeing you all too. Still what has to be done has to undergone.

Have a good day everyone, happy sowing and digging and may the earth go with you! Stay warm and dry and above all safe and well, God bless. Moyra xxx

                    Aloha everyone,

I'm rather achy after doing a bit too much in the garden yesterday  (Told you so!:noidea:)

Rearranging the bonfire heap was a bit tough on the back. I had a bonfire the other day and then the heavy rain came. All of the centre of the fire still burnt down but the outer edges, about an 8ft diameter, didn't. This required me to move all the unburned stuff to the middle. Sounds easy, but wasn't. I'd been burning normal woody garden waste and some of the giant poplar that had been cut down. So shifting heavy logs and smaller pieces whilst bent over didn't do my back too much good.

Then I moved a 5ft x 5ft 11 ply sheet of plywood over 200ft to the bonfire. It didn't feel too heavy at first .

I got half the lawns done and dug and weeded an area for Mrs Shiney's dahlias to go into.

                    Light work today :heehee:

@moyra I hope you're feeling better this morning. I suppose it depends on when they can fit the biopsy in as 'a couple of weeks' will bring you to the Bank Holiday. So they may schedule it for afterwards. :grphg:

@wiseowl There's really no need for Mrs Woo to have anything more than a little test drive with the car seller. The hardest thing when changing from manual to auto is your foot keeps trying to put the (non-existent) clutch down. It's just a matter of remembering some of the little things that go with having an auto. A lot of the cars won't let you start the car if you don't put your foot on the brake. Some won't let you turn the engine off unless you put it into Park (P). Both of those are good safety features so have become more common.

Apart from that there are mainly, only three positions for the gear stick, P (Park), N (Neutral) and D (Drive). You don't have to worry about the car stalling if you are in D and bring the car to a stop with your foot on the brake (at traffic lights or in traffic). You just need to remember that if it's in D and you take your foot off the brake the car will creep forward. If the stop seems as though it will be a little while (as we have at the level crossing) you just put it in N or P (good practice to put it in P). Your left leg is redundant so you can put it round the back of your head if you wish :heehee:. You don't get leg ache from a lot of clutch use that can happen in slow traffic with a manual car.

Some cars have other positions for the gear stick. This are mainly a couple of low gears to be used like a manual car when negotiating steep hills. Most people never use these.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                      Good morning,

:th scifD36: Come on reveal yourself! Who's got the sunshine? :th scifD36: Overcast, cold & it's drizzling here :noidea: I'm going to leave the hanging baskets in the kitchen for today, it's much warmer in here for them :blue thumb:.

I'm hoping to see my nephew tomorrow, Kev hasn't seen him yet, he's been too busy at work to visit. My brother & SIL are really struggling with a name, I think they've both over thought it & now they can't agree! I hope today they will finally make a decision.

@moyra, I hope you are feeling much better this morning & you aren't to uncomfortable :grphg:. Make sure you take your painkillers & have a rest today. Amber will look after you, or at least keep you company :doggieshmooze:.
See how you feel in a couple of weeks, getting out to Shineyland might do you the world of good, it might take your mind off your troubles & of course we would all like to see you & Amber :doggieshmooze:. Please keep us up to date & take good care of yourself :grphg:

@wiseowl, I hope Mrs Woo soon makes a decision on her car purchase, I can't offer any help
Because I've never driven an automatic on the road! Kevs parents both drive automatics & both say they would never buy another manual car :)

My cats decided to plonk himself on my lap for a cuddle! :cat-kittyandsmiley:He's been going out more since the weather has been warmer...we call him the fair weather cat now! :heehee:

@shiney, TAKE IT EASY today please! :grphg:

                      Enjoy your day everyone :grphg::coffee:
