    Aloha everyone,

Yesterday was a hot and sticky day :phew: and it topped 80F.

I hope my mower is allowed home today as I need to get a lot done before the weekend.

    @wiseowl :snork:
It wouldn't have surprised me if it had been the pampas grass that had cut through my trousers and cut me but it was just goosegrass! Luckily I didn't have to go to A&E  and it's healing quickly. :)

@"M" All your preparation reminds me of the preparation we did for the Coronation party. :blue thumb:. That was great fun. Funnily enough I don't remember what fancy dress I had!:noidea:

I've just been watching a parent feed a baby woodpecker :dbgrtmb:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

Good Morning everyone, Perhaps my high temperature is because I am sickening (yes we know that) for something as I do not feel too well at all this morning. I had put it all down to nerves. Well today I have to concentrate on booking my little car in for an MOT and getting that through and ready for taxing at the end of the month. Must check when my insurance expires too.
Have a good day everyone, God bless.:wub2:

        Good day
Sounds like everyone is busy mending themselves or being active in some other way. So nice to see.

@"M" I don't know what your celebration is about but it sounds fun. Halloween is about the only time that folks, children always/adults sometimes, costume up. I was shocked and couldn't stop laughing when my youngest son donned a costume to take his kids around trick or treating.

        Always good fun!

Have one client coming by with some work in an hour or so and then I plan to spend some time getting my house in order and puttering around outside. It's cool but the sun is brilliant!

        Safe day all!

Interview went well, might have the job :fingers crossed: Will know next week :yikes:

The Lady came out to the car afterwards and had a look at me windows :)

The estate has got 1,500 acres, lots of listed buildings, some tenanted, some holiday lets, and a veg garden that supplies the café :phew:

              Aloha everyone,

It’s 5 a.m. and I’ve just finished 45 minutes work in the garden! It’s a superb time to be working out there.

The sun is casting a warm glow as it’s rising. It’s 60.2F, the birds are singing like mad and the smell of the plants wafting through the air is lovely. It’s so much better than slogging my guts out yesterday afternoon, mowing in the hot sun.

Whilst I was just watering in the greenhouse the robins were quite happily feeding their young in the nest in there. One of them even perched on my shoulder whilst I was doing it (he tends to perch on my shoulder when I’m digging so that he gets the nice juicy worms). The goldcrests have now got babies in their nest in the honeysuckle. Baby woodpeckers are sitting on the bird feeders and are being fed by the parents.

The whole atmosphere is so peaceful. :blue thumb:

I had to stop typing this to watch Mr Blackbird tapping on my window :)

The mower was brought back yesterday and is working fantastically. :dbgrtmb: It's now as good as it was when I bought it over 20 years ago. :hapydancsmil:

Well done @Zigs and good luck.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

@Zigs will keep my fingers crossed :fingers crossed: Sounds very promising :dbgrtmb:

                @CanadianLori I had a good laugh when I saw your sons costume:heehee:

@"M" glad everything is coming together I'm getting all excited for you, enjoy your ball tonight

@wiseowl how lovely, have you managed to get a photo? Mine are still collecting food from the bird feeders so I'm still watching out for the young ones to join them. The blackbird youngsters are crazy running around the garden chasing the adults for food

Have a good day all and take care :spinning:

                  Good morning everyone,

Isn't it wonderful to see all the newly fledged babies vying for food from their parents. We have a nest full of baby blue tits just fledged and umpteen lots of baby sparrows, haven't seen any young blackbirds yet but the parents have been around collecting food for the young.

Well Zigs, glad the interview went well and fingers crossed you will get the job. 'M' hope all goes well with the celebrations and you all win the Street prize, you have all earned it. Lori, your son certainly enters into the heart of the thing! LOL.

Beckie and Lili, hope all is well with two and also my dear friend WOO, hope you are keeping well in your Nest!

Shiney, you are lucky to have such a friendly Robin, although I must say they are the bravest little creatures when it comes to trusting humans. I am certain they are a spirit revisited to let you know all is well beyond.

My landlady after all the years we have been on at her about our kitchen and now decided this year she wants to go ahead. In view of my now postponed operation I had to put her off and now have told her I am too ill for it to go ahead as yet. As we are almost at the end of the last extended tenancy am wondering if after 20 years she may decide not to renew. Could be good news for us but I am certainly not looking to renew for another year! We intend to go to the Council yet again, have been on the list for the last 20 years but now because of my health issues need to be rehoused a.s.a.p. particularly as I need a shower room not a bath I put myself at risk in using.
Have a good day everyone, stay cool and dry and above all safe and well, God bless.:wub2:

                    Morning early people :)

Ta for all the good vibes

Thought it was gonna rain a minute ago, but just a few spots:sad:

                      Good day!

Oh my goodness what a week! I've been so busy at work, I'm desperately trying to get ahead with work so I can go to Edinburgh next weekend & chill, but as fast as I'm crossing one job off two more seem to be added! :phew: Not that I complaining, I do like to have a heavy schedule :hapydancsmil:.

Buttercup is still broody! I just lift her out of the coop every morning so she has some wet mash & then let her get on with it! She's so skinny! :doh:When Florence goes into the coop to lay her egg they have a shouting match! It's hilarious! :heehee: I don't know what the neighbours must think!

My nephew has an infection, his little finger is all red & swollen, he's been backwards & forwards to the doctors this week, he has some cream which I hope will clear it up quickly.

@moyra, my goodness! Sounds like you've had an eventful week! I'm sorry things didn't go to plan at the hospital, but I hope next time you go you will get your op & things will improve for you. :grphg: good luck with your housing situation, maybe you could speak to your doctor & ask for a visit from social services so they could come out & do an assessment on your living accomadation? We had this done for my nan & it was amazing what they did to help her, I know another friends mother who has just been moved to another rental property after having a social services assessment :dbgrtmb:, it's worth a try!

@Zigs, I have everything crossed for you, I hope you get the job :fingers crossed:

@"M" you've certainly been busy :phew:, I hope you have a lovely weekend :dbgrtmb:

Thanks for all your kind messages about me not going to the wedding :grphg:, I've put that behind me now & I feel a lot better for it! :hapydancsmil:

Best I get a move on :phew: :hapfeet:. Enjoy your day folks :hapydancsmil:

                        Gooood morning WW'ers

@Beckie76 - love Edinburgh; hope you have a wonderful time (when you finally get away that is).

Well, I *think* I made it, by the skin of my teeth, to get my display out. When I was putting the pots on the steps there was a lady photographing things but I hadn't finished! So, I raced to the back, grab some strong arms and we raced to the front for a very quick arrangement of the display table :phew: There was another person taking photos, so it may all still be good to go.

I've taken some photos but they don't really do it justice, but, for those of you who asked:-

This is the road leading into our village, lots and lots of Union Jacks!

                        CIMG0017 (2) (800x749).jpg

This is the front of my home (not an easy photo to take with all the blinking traffic; doesn't help that it is bin day too  ) The home made bunting is in the windows but doesn't really show up very well.

                        CIMG0002 (2) (698x800).jpg

Behind that front wall is the display ... CIMG0007 (2) (800x673).jpg

And a closer view ... the flowers I made from cake cases :heehee:

                        CIMG0008 (2) (600x800).jpg

Then I changed my mind about the pots on the steps and rearranged them

                        CIMG0022 (2) (445x800).jpg

And an old wreath I took apart and threw together for the door ...

                        CIMG0014 (2) (600x800).jpg

Looking down from the front door ...

                        CIMG0015 (2) (600x800).jpg

And the neighbour opposite and their front garden display CIMG0019 (2) (800x659).jpg

Now I need to have a shower :heehee:

@moyra ... hope you are feeling a little better and the antibiotics are working for you :grphg:

@Zigs ... when do you hope to hear back from your interview?

@shiney ... hoping your back is easing up?

Healing vibes for all in need of them and miles of smiles for all xxMxx

Hi everyone, well it never rains but it pours. The MOT on my car is going to cost over £600+. Trouble is body wise she is in lovely condition it just the underneath that is rotting and needs quite a bit of welding done to her. Also a spring has gone, the horn is not operating and passenger side door handle needs replacing. When the work is done she will be worth it as long as she lasts another couple of years, then I shall give up driving. Haven't got the antibiotics yet, got to wait until the doctor can fit me in next week.

M your display looks magnificent. Well done!

@moyra, all I can say is NOTHING else can go wrong, you've certainly had more than your fair share of irritations this week :grphg:.
Whilst I'm no car expert, I had to have a new coil spring on my car a while ago, shortly after the car had been delivered back to me the other blinking Spring went, my brother who works in the trade then told me you should always have both springs changed at the same time  I had no idea, just thought it might be worth you asking the garage for their opinion :blue thumb:.
