    Morning early people :)

Nice to have a day off, bit cream crackered :thud:

Been moving house for someone, when it's done my mate will take posession and then the real work starts :yikes:

Garden hasn't been touched for 15 years, can't actually get to the main part of it and the ivy is covering the entire gable end as far as the apex :hate-shocked:

Got our work cut out :phew:

    Hope everyone is well :)

Have a good day everyone :spinning:

Good morning all my friends on this yet another Bonus of a Monday as the great Louis Armstrong sang "What a wonderful world" have a lovely day and "Illegitimi non carborundum ":lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I see trees of green, red roses too;):blue thumb:
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

          Aloha everyone,

We managed our walk in the forest in lovely sunshine yesterday.

@Zigs You could be describing our garden when we moved in. It took us three years to clear all the undergrowth down to the bottom of the garden. That's when we found two dilapidated chicken sheds down there :heehee:

@wiseowl I've always loved that non-Latin quote :blue thumb: :snork:

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

              Aloha everyone,

It's a busy day today :phew:

A meeting this morning, bridge club this afternoon and a meeting tonight.

Tonight's meeting will be interesting as we (village hall trust) are being pressured by the Council to provide parking for parents when bringing their children to school. In the past we have had to pay out for a barrier because they used the car park and caused damage to the hall and the car park surface - as well as accidents to children. There is only a normal, one vehicle wide, entrance. This isn't suitable to have 'Chelsea Tractors' trying to come in and out at the same time - actually impossible. They were, then, manoeuvring into and out of parking spaces whilst other vehicles were trying to come in and out. This meant that they were occasionally hitting the hall walls (wooden) or knocking down little darlings that were running around.

The council are now saying that in our terms of our deeds we are there for the use of the village and to provide room and open space for that purpose. They are the planning authority and should really know their definitions. A car park is not an 'open space'! Also, the car park is private property. Would you want people using your driveway for dropping their kids off to school because they're too lazy to walk (for those that live in the village) or to park in the village car park (300yds away) or on the side roads. So they stop on the main road (not very wide) during rush hour!

What makes it worse is that the 'Lord of the Manor' (yes we do still have such a person) has given land to the council, on the village green, to be available for parking cars. The council can't be bothered to try and raise the money to have the surface laid! So they are trying to pressurise us - and being nasty in the way they're doing it. Bad move :nonofinger: :heehee:

I shall be coming up with a proposition tonight for us to put to the council, after telling them to butt out, for raising the money - as they should have done in the first place - but the others need to approve my suggestion first.

              End of rant :snork:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                  Aloha everyone,

I have the bouncability in my head but am a bit reluctant to translate it into physical movement at the moment :)

My meeting went well last night but they have decided to put the council straight on the facts and not to offer any help in solving the problem. They're worried that it may give the impression that we think they may have the upper hand and get them to carry on saying silly things. This has been an ongoing battle for the last six years. :noidea: The lazy boogers keep trying to dump their problems on us. :nonofinger:

I'm going to see whether I can get a bit more moss clearing before the really cold weather sets in this afternoon. Possible snow forecast for tomorrow evening.

Keep well and have a great day

                  Aloha!

@moyra We haven't got them to butt out yet :noidea: but have only drafted a letter which will go to them at the end of next week (after a full Village Hall committee meeting). I don't think it's going to be all that easy.

They've already started (last few months) trying to put pressure on by putting letters into the village magazine trying to make us look like the villains. If they continue, after this letter, then we shall start retaliating in kind. I've just had a heading pop into my mind :ideaIPB: :snork:
"How would you like strangers parking on your driveway because the council aren't doing their job properly?" :th scifD36:

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

Day off today, getting some housework done while I wait in for a delivery. My old rose arch (made from untreated chestnut poles) is reaching the end of its life, so I've ordered a new one from a local sawmill and it should be delivered today. :)

The old arch hasn't done badly, I can't remember how long ago I built it, must be at least 10 years ago, more like 15 probably, but it's now listing badly and probably won't stand much longer. Here it is back in summer 2015.

                          Evening later people :)

Finally got the house emptied :phew: Started cutting down and shredding this afternoon. Chainsaw made quick work of the rose arch :snork:

Back tomorrow to see what we uncover, dragged out a tin bath, bbq, girt garden roller and a formula 1 tyre so far.

Have a good evening everyone :spinning:

                              Aloha everyone,

It looks as though it will be a nippy day today (for us wimpish southerners :heehee:). There's a cold wind blowing so it's thermals today. :)

It's a fairly busy day so I'd better think of moving myself soon. :snork:
