Thanks @moyra I'm supposed to be phoning him at 10 a.m. to get him out of bed (otherwise he'll be there all day) and then we're picking him up and taking him with us. :dbgrtmb:

He'll dig it out and he will be bringing some of his tougher digging gear - a post hole spade is likely to be needed. I'm taking a sharp spade, fork, mattock, pickaxe, and a 3ft axe - all just in case. :)

        Morning early people :)

Had a lay in today :snooze:

@shiney, you need @Apple Blossom and I. We got a couple of huge pampas grasses out with just a fork and a sheet

Lovely morning here, currently getting 4.2 amps from the solar panels

Have a good day everyone and don't stop thinking about tomorrow :spinning:

          Good day everyone
It looks to be foggy out there. I'm sitting inside having a nice cuppa and catching up on some paperwork before tidying myself up. The 1930's something version of Goodbye Mr. Chips is on the television later and I would like to see it again however I should be getting over to my friend's place to recommence cleaning it out.

His book collection numbers well over 2,000. At first I'd thought they were about a thousand but I seriously underestimated how many bookshelves and books one can cram into a place. The public library will take certain books but only about 50 or so at a time so I have lots of trips ahead of me.

I'm hoping we get a little sun later today. We were let down yesterday. Forecast sun, reality overcast! My batteries are not getting replenished with this constant gloom.

          Have a safe day everyone!

@Zigs We took Michael with us. :dbgrtmb: What would have taken me about three hours he did in about 20 minutes. He didn't bother with a fork but just used his post hole spade. He slammed it into the ground all around the plant and then levered it out :phew:. Then he used the spade to cut it into manageable pieces. The filled 3 x 70 litre bags.

Although he has that type of post hole spade he uses one of these for tough plants.

                Roughneck Drainage Shovel

It's very similar to the one you have shown but it's just one half of it. He rams it into the ground with brute force, just using his arms, and then jumps heavily on it. It's OK when you're young! :snork:

That could be useful too, we gotta dig a 450 mm trench for the oil pipe :)

The one that Michael uses looks tougher than the one in the link. It looked more solid (has to be because he jumps on it a lot).

                          Aloha everyone,

@wiseowl I was around but hiding behind Outlook :noidea:. My emails were very busy :phew: I was trying to moderate between two computer people who run websites for an organisation I run. One wanted to change the site to a new, off the shelf, version that had advantages and disadvantages. I had to try and understand what they were talking about . In the end I made the decision for them :old: We are going to run the sites in parallel (the new site gives a three month free trial) and the committee will make the decision at the end of that period if they can't agree. Both of them like the idea. :) So do I - as I don't have to do anything myself :snorky:

Keep well and have a great day

                          Aloha!

Good morning all, another very cold and foggy morning. Got to get Amber out but not looking forward to it as it is so cold.
Have a good day all, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

                                Gooooooood morning fellow WW'ers :spinning:

                                Thank you! :)

Oh the CAR! :waggy: It refused to start  So, despite thinking it was fixed for my weekend of travels, it stubbornly refused to be coaxed, cajoled, sweet talked ... threatened, ranted at, ignored my face pulling :rasp: and any other forms of persuasion/abuse I could think of whilst freezing my toes off! Stuck for travel and now time ... I resorted to calling Mr "M", who had to leave work, pick me up, drop me off where I needed to be and race back into work again (both mornings)
Mr Garage Owner came personally this morning to tow her away for another diagnostic and, hopefully, find the root of the problem :fingers crossed:

Thank you, moyra - crikey, that was a bit of a recovery! My right knee is fine for walking (I never run ) and it bends fine for sitting, but I cannot bend down with it or kneel (for the time being). That only caused a bit of a dilemma over the weekend when I had something specific needing doing, but I simply contorted myself into a less than ladylike position and got on with it  :heehee:
Still managed to get Ozzy out yesterday morning at 6am for a walk, so it's doing most of whats expected of it :blue thumb: I'm sure in a few days time it will be back to normal service; if not, I'll throw myself on the floor again to knock it back into place :heehee:

Oh, I love that version of the film!! :wub2: I've seen the beginning of it, I've seen a bit of the middle and I've seen the end of it - all at different times - but never seen it from start to finish in one sitting. I think Robert Donat really owns that role. Another of my all time favourites is "Goodnight, Mr Tom" starring John Thaw.

No time today for nostalgic film watching, I'm in the middle of house cleaning (well, it was time for a cuppa and a quick sneak into GC :phew: ). I'm out tomorrow taking #1 son to a meeting out of town. Unfortunately, it happens to be near a Dobbies and I'm going to *have* to sit and have a coffee there whilst I wait for him; rotten luck, eh ;) :heehee: All the more reason I need my car to be better!

Noticed some snowdrop bulbs bravely poking through the frozen soil so that has really made me smile with its reminder that, sooner rather than later, the growing season will be in full swing once again :hapydancsmil: A timely reminder because there has been no let up with the frost for days on end now :shakehead:

Miles of smiles and positive vibes for one and all
                                xxMxx
