    Good day
It's going to be another scorcher so I went out and removed the vertical "privacy" slats from 2/3 of my chain link fence between my house and the hillbillies early and an hour before my first cuppa. The slats just didn't provide as much privacy as touted. I'll insert some of the slats horizontally so when the new cloth panel arrives and I install it over and above them, I don't have to worry about the hillbillies ripping at the cloth from their side with their whipper snipper. Forget what you call it over there, hmmm, I think you call them strimmers? I'll pull the rest of the slats shortly. And be careful. Shocked myself a couple of times so far :rolleyespink:

Then my beloved Corrie street is airing. Only 2 episodes this week but it is better than none.

Altogether another good day for me and I hope everyone else has a nice once too!

              Good day
I got all those slats out yesterday and decided that I'll put clear heavy plastic along the bottom behind the new stuff so as to block weeds and keep their strimmer from doing harm to the new panel when I install it.

It's going to be another hot one. Yesterday it reached 98f and today might be even hotter :yikes:

I've got proper shade cloth left over that I 've decided to use to make a winter cloche for my new hibiscus. I used the main part of the roll to make shade cloths for the greenhouses for use in this kind of intense heat with sunshine.

I'm going to then spend the afternoon punching little holes in the aforementioned plastic so that I can attach it to the base of the fence with little ties.

I will be keeping the phone by my side. My son picked up my granddaughter and got her down here to Oakville and took her straight to the hospital. This manipulating so and so that she lived with and allowed to control her, got her to move 700 miles from family, into a 20 person town in the middle of nowhere and it looks like he's been systemically starving her. She's being kept in the hospital. The doctor says it's "bad". Obviously with Covid'19, I didn't get to see her and probably won't be allowed at any time. I am very worried that at 28, she'll be taken away from us:sad:

I'll keep myself busy today so as to distract myself. I know my son will keep me up to date if and when he hears anything.

So sorry to hear about your granddaughter Lori, that's terrible! Was it some sort of cult brainwashing type set up?
Keeping her and of course the family too in my thoughts. :grphg:

This guy's family is a cult on their own @Upsydaisy . I'm hoping she never goes back but it is that old phenomenon of beaten partners blaming themselves. We're circling the wagons!:paladin:

                            Good day
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes for my granddaughter. I don't know how long she'll be in the hospital but I know that she is in the best place she can be, given her condition. I'll call her in about an hour. I talked to her for a moment last night but we had to cut the conversation short because they were whisking her off for a CT scan. This is about the only good thing about the virus is that the hospitals are virtually empty and the diagnostic equipment is sitting idle just waiting for a case like hers.

Never got round to punching the holes in the plastic yesterday and decided to leave it until I have the screen secured at the top so that I don't make mistakes and land up with stuff looking like swiss cheese!

I also want to put the slats into the fence on the opposite side. They've got to go somewhere and they will okay over there. So I will shoot for doing 20 or so a day.

It is going back up into the high 90's again so that is why the pacing on these projects. I don't want to get sunstroke!

Have a lovely day all and thanks again for your kind words :)
