I stopped worrying about what might be on them 70 years ago! Because of Covid I used the library disinfectant when entering the place and the books get put into a bag and then I disinfect my hands again before leaving. The bag of books is quarantined for a week.

I love reading books but not online. Apart from the fact they seem to lose character on a screen my eyes don't allow me to read on the screen for too long. Whereas I could spend a few hours reading a book with no ill effect. I suffer from 'visual migraine' and 'floaters' (nothing to do with the previous comments  :heehee:).

        Good day
It is a sunny day and expected to be a scorcher. We did get a little piddle of rain last night which only made things look a little shinier and not much else.

My to do list is not very aggressive. Just weeding, laundry, a bit of shopping and other puttering type jobs. I call my granddaughter several times a day just to "keep her company" as she hasn't sen anyone in ages and is very lonely.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and please stay safe.

p.s. @shiney please tell me you don't lick your finger before turning a page...

                    Aloha everyone,

@Upsydaisy that's a good sign to have so many viewings and I hope it turns out to be a quick sale. :blue thumb:

We have family coming for lunch, afternoon tea and supper today but I can take it easy as I have prepared most of food.

No gardening for me today as I can't get a shoe on. Over the last few years, at this time of year, I tend to get bitten by something whilst working in the garden. They come up in small, very itchy, spots with a little blister in the middle. I have seventeen of them at the moment :mute:. apart from being a nuisance this tends to last for only about three weeks. Very occasionally one of the bites becomes more than a little nuisance and swells and blisters badly. This time it's in an awkward position directly between my big toe and the one next to it. Both toes swelled up and the blister is an inch long, along the inside of the toe, and half an inch high. Mrs Shiney gave me something for it and the swelling has gone down (no sarcastic comments please :heehee:) but the blister is still there. Not too unmanageable without shoes on. So I carefully swept the patio this morning as we shall be out there a most of the day. I've given the birds a lecture about not messing on the patio and they're usually quite good about it. :dbgrtmb:

                    Keep well

                    Aloha!

@Upsydaisy thanks but just a b... nuisance and very itchy. :dunno:

I used to have this problem as a child but it stopped being so bad when I reached the age of twelve. In those days I was covered in large itchy blisters and the doc, lived and worked opposite us, used to pop them and then put on some yellow/orange liquid and bandage me up - from thigh to ankle :hate-shocked:. I'm guessing the liquid was a form of antiseptic - probably PVP-I (Povidone-iodine).

Thanks for the cup of tea, the Estate agent came and did photos & virtual tour video, it’s amazing what they can do these days, it’s all on the Internet now So fingers crossed we get some viewings, yours sounds promising.
At the moment we are on the verge of going on lockdown because of the next town (Rochdale) to us, so as you can imagine we are all very nervous again. Stay safe everyone x :spinning::dbgrtmb:

sorry but no, I'm used to this and the blister will start to go down in a couple of days. I'd rather let it go down naturally than pop it. It helps keep infection out as antiseptics don't always manage it. The swollen toes have gone down and are back to normal - although Mrs Shiney says there is never anything normal about me! :heehee:
