A good day to spend in the garden doing all the little tasks that the heat prevented.

        Aloha everyone,

I've been very busy lately so haven't had too much time to get on here.

It started pouring just before 8 a.m. this morning and is alternating light rain with very heavy downpours every couple of minutes. I haven't picked any beans this morning but have enough in the fridge for the seven orders (so far) today. :blue thumb:

I had my haircut yesterday :) and dropped into the Salvation Army to give them a dozen very large Easter eggs (biggest one was a kilo). Someone dropped them off and asked me to find a good home for them. Their Best Before date was July but chocolate doesn't deteriorate. Most of the charities I know, and the food bank, said that they can't take them because of the BB date but I spoke to someone I know at the S A and they said they could easily find children that would love them.

        Keep well

        aloha!

          Good day
I had a restless night. Number one son's van needs radiator work so I had to go to his city to follow him to the shop, pick him up and bring him back here and then got the news that his current, six year, relationship is over :yikes: and he needs to move in temporarily with me :yikes::yikes: and then he started moving his stuff in last night :yikes::yikes::yikes:. I have to admit that I didn't much care for this gal as she was showing definite family traits that go against my grain. Her father is a traveler very much representative of their reputation... Yes. Nuff said.

Anyway, Jim is Sam's father so they will have rooms next to each other and more time to spend together. Three generations under one roof for a short while.

And after he left to pack his first load, I had to text him to take it easy as I found an oil stain on the driveway and was worried about that.:gaah: Hopefully it will be something inexpensive to fix :fingers crossed:

So that is why I had a rough night. Things will get better/calm down and I still have my gardens to keep me happy. They are silent and cheerful. And Jim is digging up and bringing his plants with him. Well trained ;)

Have a good day all and please do play safe. :)

                Aloha everyone,

@CanadianLori I hope your son gets himself sorted out quickly. :grphg:

A steady drizzle out there now and, literally, hundreds of smaller birds flying backwards and forwards to the feeders. It's a fascinating sight to see the air full of them. It's mainly greenfinches, tits and sparrows. I also noticed a small rat dodging out from the undergrowth to the ground under the feeder to pick up dropped seed - and then speed back under cover.

                Keep well

                Aloha!

                      Good day
There is just no rest for the wicked! My son's belongings are now occupying a good part of the main floor and garage and now I will do a bit of rearranging in the cellar to make a clear area to erect some of those heavy duty plastic shelves for his tools to be stowed. Then start moving things down there so that we don't have to maneuver narrow pathways between the boxes and things.:rolleyespink:

Luckily I had already emptied one of the small greenhouses that had poorly tomatoes and cucumbers (couldn't stand the heat I suppose) and Jim's plants went straight in there :)

And I have laundry going and I need to get the living room dusted so Sam can have a place for her physiotherapy session this morning. This is her first and I hope he or she leaves a sheet of exercises for her to repeat between visits. :blue thumb:

Looks like I have my own fitness program for the next while as I shall be a busy old broad!

Cheers all and play safe please!

                        Good evening,

I'm just waiting for someone to come and pick up their plants. We spoke to the owner of one of the takeaways and he said he may want to buy all our Naga chilli plants. Don't know if he will turn up now as it is raining hard. :noidea:

                              Aloha everyone,

The man did turn up for the Nagas but didn't buy them all. As they were so big he didn't have space to keep them all. :heehee: He turned up with his wife, a lovely lady, but she didn't speak a lot of English. They're both of Bangladeshi origin but he was brought up in the East End and sounds just like any other Cockney (wotcha mate!). Whilst we were chatting and sorting out the chillies Mrs Shiney was speaking to his wife in Bengali :).

More people coming for beans today :blue thumb:. As we're picking up 30+lb of windfalls every day callers go away with a bag of them. We've been cooking loads but visitors taking some saves us putting any outside with 'help yourself' signs.

                              Keep well
