          Aloha everyone,

Sainsbury's delivery arrived 7.05 and all packed away now. Sarafi turned up when the lorry drove in and inspected the delivery first. :heehee:

Someone coming round to dig up loads of plants to help start of their plant sales next year. They'll have to stop when their boot is full. :)

          Keep well

          Aloha!

Gosh you seem to enjoy shopping @shiney !!
I thought you did it on Tuesday!!

It's me really;) I absolutely detest shopping for anything fullstop!!
At the height of the first wave of Covid we did it online...and I loved it:yahoo:,but since around July we've gone back to doing our own  ,we try and limit our shopping trips to once a month for main shop and once a fortnight for perishables...the garage is brilliant for storing fruit, veg and salads. We are debating as the whether to start back on online again( )...but in truth hubs likes shopping!!!

                Good day
It's still pitch out there but I can hear the rain pounding down out there. I'm glad that it was yesterday I planted in the new bulbs I bought. Another cheapie mix of alliums. :)

And I did that in between visiting Sam and then going back again to bring her home :spinning: I shall be her nurse for the next while and am pleased that the stethoscopes trust me to do it!

I baked freshed rolls for her, and will be making some date squares and other goodies that are useful to sedentary llfe cycles.

Have a lovely day all. Cheers :coffee:

                  Aloha everyone,

I much prefer to do shopping in person than having a delivery (used to be a 'mystery shopper'). We have a delivery of non-perishables once a fortnight. All perishables I buy in person but always go at times when the shops are empty. When I did my training as a cook (never made chef level :heehee:) it was part of the training that you pick your own foods. The other day I had a melon on the list and I needed it ripe that day. Pressing the top of it is not the way to tell if it's ripe. Tapping it and listening to the sound is the way to go. :blue thumb:

Taking Mrs Shiney to the specialist eye clinic this morning which is in the county town so I'm pleased it's an early appointment to avoid the traffic. Off now. :noidea:

                  Keep well

                  Aloha!

I know I said the same last Friday...but I'm sure the weeks are speeding up!! Are we in warp time ( that's Startrek speak , in case you didn't know!:heehee:)
                    Slow down Scotty!!!

Out this morning to attend an appointment with my brother, then plan to either lift a few spent bulbs or pop over to my parents place. Thing's have gone into warp speed that too and we are getting house clearance in to pack it all up in a couple of weeks time. It will take 2 days to do and my sister and I will be there for the whole painful process. When the door is finally closed at the end of the 2nd day I won't be going back there.....I have played out this scenario over and over again in my head and each time is more painful than the last.....I even have dreams about it.
                    Hey no that's life!!

                    Have a great day:spinning:

Same here @shiney , we always select our fresh foods too in person.
Yes that the way to test for melon ripeness.....hubs is a true expert as they are sold on the street everywhere in Iran. He knows all the different ways to test fruit and veg ...its the way they shop out there!:tomato:

                          Good day
It is still pitch and the fog is thick enough to make the street lights appear a bit spooky.

The community care nurse was around last evening to train Sam and I on the mechanics of flushing her tubes. Easy peasy and it's a lot better, psychologically, for her to be out of the hospital so I am glad to be able to help.

I too, like to shop in person. I usually strike outside of "rush" times. Not at lunch, and about the time the mums go to get their kids from school. The stores empty at that time!

It is forecast to be mild today with a bit of sun so I shall be outside as much as possible. I have plenty to do out there.

Have a lovely day all and cheers :coffee:

Evening Guy, how are things with you?

Had quite a busy day and received some upsetting news too sadly.

                              2020....we want you gone!!

Had also planned to get out in the garden this afternoon, but that didn't happen. All in all not a particularly good day .

Hope that yours and everyone else's day has been a lot better.:spinning:

One of the tools I find really handy to see what's currently going on is the "Spy" button. If you look at the heading it says "Home Forums etc" and the line right under it has the Spy button as the last selection on the right. It will start listing all of the current posts in real time. Then if you see something that interests you, you can click on that post and join in! Give it a shot, it's fun :)
