      Aloha everyone,

Apart from working flat out from 4 a.m. until midnight yesterday it was a good day. Got loads of admin done, read 124 emails, wrote 47 emails and two reports, played bridge for five hours, did a lot of gardening and was still mowing at 6 p.m. when I then had a struggle finding my way back indoors after putting the mower in the shed because it had clouded over so no light. Sarafi didn't help by getting under my feet. It's OK for him as he can see in the dark  Should have taken a torch with me. :rolleyespink:

Lots more to get done today but things should ease up by Wednesday :fingers crossed:

A neighbour down the road asked if she could drop off some small bags of sweets yesterday to keep by our front door. She will be bringing her kids and a few others at 5 p.m. for Halloween as they need a treat. There are only 20 houses in two miles of road but 12 of us are in just over a quarter of a mile. She has asked three of us to have the sweets ready (most of the others have electronic gates :hate-shocked: but we don't have any gates at all) :). There's no street lighting so 5 p.m. will be darkish but not too dark. :blue thumb:

      Keep well

      Aloha!

Thanks for reminding me @shiney that it's Halloween,I had totally forgot!
We too have no street lights or gate to our main driveway and one year ,again had forgot about it ,the doorbell went and we had a group of slightly older children standing there with those ghastly rubbery horror masks on....scared the living daylights out of me!! Another year we must have missed the doorbell as our windows got egged!! Have to say for the last few years all has been quiet...but I like to be prepared!!!!
We only have 5 houses up our lane and only one is near to us. There is only one household with children and they were always accompanied by their parents back in the day, but now they're not interest in it. So anyone who knocks will definitely not be locals. Not keen at all on random door knocking at Halloween, especially went older folk are involved.!

Although we don't usually get Halloween callers we did, one time, get some unpleasant ones (can't see why as we're a mile from the village). Since then we usually turn the outside lights off on Halloween and it's quite difficult to find your way to our front door

@shiney you have been busy! It's such a lot of garden to take care of. Have a good day, take care and stay safe and well. God bless.:wub2:

                  Good day
Still pitch here and the thermometer says well below freezing.

I always have a coffin full of little chocolate bars and things by the front door and shell out until 8. I usually don't have a lot of kids coming by but the neighbourhood children are mostly little ones who get more than one treat so it makes them happy. And the leftovers go in the candy cupboard.

Today we (son and I) deliver 10 window treatments and I'm hoping our installation goes smoothly. The wife wants to use my steamer to do a couple of her own treatments whilst we are there and I grudgingly agreed but I really don't like lending out my professional equipment to anyone. Guess that is selfish of me but they would cost lots to replace!

Sam goes to have her bandage changed this afternoon and that's another reason I hope this morning's work goes well as I don't want to be late for her.

I'm looking forward to getting this day done with and then I can relax :phew: Makes me think about totally retiring..

Have a lovely day all and cheers :coffee:

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a good day and taking it easy.

Hope that means you've got eggs in to get them back :rolleyespink:

hopefully we wont have any visitors, although we do have two horrible green-eyed monsters as neighbours

Sorry about your friend Flumpy :frown::grphg: Hope you are ok xx

Been out this morning swapping paint and then b&q to get a few huge bags of compost and then to the tip to get rid of some stuff that's been lingering around-got drenched.

Went to book my online morrisons order and the website has gone haywire. Apparently people are going mad in anticipation of bojo's announcement later today?!

anyway, cleaning out the kitchen cupboards now-they're an utter mess. Good job for a rainy day too.

                          Aloha everyone,

I've been studying the new Covid rules since 4.30 a.m. (they've still got to bring out more details) and then working out how it affects all the things I run. :phew:

Rain forecast for this morning and as it eases up the wind is said to be picking up to gale force. I was hoping to finish off pressure washing the patio - only a couple of hours left to do. I may not be able to get it done until Wednesday.

I've been going through a lot of old photos (50+ years of them) and I can't work out who that young man is with Mrs Shiney   :heehee:

                          Keep well

                            Morning all!

Change of plans for me today. I've decided to travel up to see my mum for a couple of days before the lockdown starts on Thursday. Dave is staying home to look after the dogs. My bag is all packed so will be heading off shortly.

@Guy Greening have a go at emptying the cupboard-it is liberating :heehee: I can actually use the cupboards now-id been cramming empty jam jars and cartons in and was no longer able to open the door either :heehee:

hope everyone has a lovely day :spinning:despite the gloomy weather and circumstances. Nicer weather is forecast for the latter end of the week:fingers crossed:
