@shiney whoever said, "Getting old isn't for the cowardly", sure got that right. I hope your aches let up for you.

It is still dark but the guessers have told us that it will be cloudy so I'm not waiting with baited breath for the sunrise. I will be looking over my hibiscus as soon as it is light to see if they are showing any signs of recovery from me stupidly leaving them out in the freezing! I put them in big pots in the greenhouse and fed them some fertiliser.

Number 2 son, Darryl, and I will be installing a drapery panel to accommodate of wall of sheer panels for a client this morning. And that's it for any wage earning this year. She does want a slip for a wing chair but that will have to wait until next year.

Samantha is excited to see Jessica and have a sleepover. All is ready for the visit and I will pick up Jessica after this morning's work. Got everything set up to make a lovely spaghetti dinner with homemade baguettes/garlic bread. And tomorrow morning, I've got the waffle maker ready to make their breakfast. I am very lucky to have high grade maple syrup for them to douse the waffles.

I probably won't be on here tomorrow until later in the day as this laptop is in the guest bedroom and I'm certain the girls will want to lay in.

@Flumpy all GCers are welcome! Next weekend will be even better. I've got 2/3 of the cookie dough ready for baking this week. In all, I bake about 55 dozen cookies (regular, gluten free, sugar free) and mini tarts and candies to make up trays for family and friends. You and I can have a nice breakfast and then feast on sugary sweets!

Morning everyone!

Busy weekend... most of last week actually!!
Trying desperately to put some order / organization into my brother's day to day life and living environment....without him realising what I doing!!! Sneaky is now my middle name!

Sadly he seems to be deteriorating at speed!! Not enough to place him in a home as there are none around here for the young who have Alzheimer's and I feel he will rapidly go downhill in an old peoples home. First step after Christmas is to try and re-establish some home care ...but we had this in place before and then a year ago he cancelled it all. Trouble is 'they' still say he has the capacity to make his own decisions....so if he says no.....

We are going over to sort out his phone and internet this morning ...again! Later this evening we go back to receive his grocery delivery...if he does it he only orders one of everything...so I did it for him this time!!!!

He could be in for a shock!! But at least he'll have a newly created stock cupboard!!

I have been shocked recently at discovering that apart from his 'meals on wheels ' at lunchtime that there is little in his cupboards for him to eat for the other mealtimes...I feel awful having to snoop around his cupboards, but it had been a shocking eye opener!!

Sad times....but hopefully I'm onto it now ...and will double check on everything he tells from now on.

He won't be too happy, but needs must....


I hope some of you have better weather that ours.....really dark and murky here.

ive asked Moyra twice now asking how she is, but don’t think she’s reading our messages.

Im currently sat in my steamed up car as it’s hale and rain here, my hubby is in Tesco food shopping, we are trying to make it so only one of us goes in, with this Covid19 around and not all people wear masks

 

Yes I know I've asked twice too, really hope all is OK with her.
