Well, this friend has a cellar level flat and I have never been in it (I do not visit bachelor's flats) but he has told me that though it is finished very nicely, it is still much cooler than a ground floor unit. I made him one of these years back and in a fleece that was just as loud. It's only the loud, ugly ones that go on offer and he doesn't mind as he is obviously not wearing it in public. And I'll make him another in about 2-3 winters. :)

                Good morning
Looks like we got a couple of inches of snow overnight and the way the trees are swaying, something else in blowing in. Probably more snow coming but still very mild. The temperature is just below freezing.

I drive into Toronto after lunch today to get the Kobo for my granddaughter and hopefully being the middle of the day, there will be no fears of heavy traffic :fingers crossed: It is always a bit of a pain driving in Toronto with the constant year round construction so I may run into delays but hopefully the gods will be with me.

At least with it looking like it will be a grey day, I won't be wasting a nice day by being stuck in a vehicle for hours :)

                cheers all and play safe
                Lori

                  Aloha everyone,

We're back, yesterday, from a very good and interesting holiday in Burma. We both enjoyed it very much but Mrs Shiney had some problems with her knee. She's had some trouble with it over the last few months but we had to do a lot of going up and down steps/stairs and some hills. She was coping fairly well with them until she slipped on a step and hyperextended her knee which made it impossible for her to do much any step climbing or much walking for the last few days. We also had to get wheelchair assistance at the airports (plural ).

The knee is improving now that she has been able to rest it. :blue thumb: Thirty four hours getting home (she got some sleep on the planes) and then staying up for the next 14+ hours to get the body into the right time zone has just left her a little tired - but she's feeling OK. As it doesn't affect me I did the shopping, dealt with mail, emails, phone messages, two loads of washing and the cooking before having a couple of good hours sleep in the armchair.

Just got a phone call whilst typing this and have to pop out again. Bye for now! :)

Sorry to hear about Mrs S's knee, I hope she has a speedy recovery.:grphg:

On a brighter note at least it happened towards the end of the hols and she got to enjoy the majority of the time away.

Happy New Year to you both.

I'm still working on my photos :phew:. I've now filed all of them (56 different folders :rolleyespink:) and am starting to look at them and deleting the rubbish ones - quite a lot of those

Both yesterday and today have been sunny.

                              Do you like peanuts?
