    Good day,
Still pretty much dark and the weather guessers have already let me know that it's not really going to be a great view out there when the sun does rise. Winds whipping around, rain most of the day but fairly warm is their promise.

I was thrilled to get my walls in the stairwell done yesterday and I only have to wait a week to do all the trim. Just the right amount of time before using painter's tape to mask the new paint and get a nice straight line.

My show is playing this morning. 6 episodes from this week. I'll get lots of puttering and potting done whilst they are playing. Was sad to hear that this virus has affected so many that taping has halted.

We have 5,425 cases of the virus in Canada and 993 are in my province. The most cases are in Quebec, they've got nearly 2,500. I don't personally know anyone who has the virus or who knows someone who does. So my little world has not been effected much with the exception of staying home and getting jobs done that I should have been doing previously. A bonus for when the good weather starts.

Time to read the newspapers and then I'm down to the kitchen for show and potting. :)

Have a safe day and all many happy birthdays :blue thumb:

                Aloha everyone,

If the weather isn't too bad I shall get a little gardening done.

Yesterday I was inundated with pleasant phone calls. :blue thumb: A lot of friends and relations asking how we were and just having a chat. After four hours of being on the phone in the morning I had to ask Mrs Shiney to take the next calls as I was getting a scratchy throat from the talking. She also had calls on her phone. The batteries on the phones kept going flat so I may revert to plugging in an old fashioned one, but that doesn't filter the calls.

                Keep well

                Aloha!

                      Good day
We have been promised cloudy skies today and that is what it looks like so far. Not to worry, got lots to do inside as my to do list is quite populated.

I must be getting cabin fever. Last night I dreamt that I cleared off the motorhome and took advantage of the cheap petrol to go sight seeing. I do not have a motorhome! :rolleyespink:

I hope everyone has a safe day and many happy birthdays! :)

Well my first day back at work after having a week off, and I got sent home!, my manager had been doing ear thermometer tests on us all, all morning and mine was wavering 37.2 to 38, I feel a little light headed and my back is shivering on and off, can’t believe it , he’s told me to use a weeks holiday off my holidays.

Lordy @Flumpy that is serious. The shivering is something to pay attention to. You should not be asked to use vacation time. It is NOT fair or ethical!!!

Especially when most small or large firms are at home on full pay, my wife is at home with 12 weeks of 2 of these will be holidays which we can accept as fair.

It's also not legal! If you go home because of health worries then you are, and must be, off sick and entitled to sick pay. If he sends you home because you are sick then it's the same situation.

If your employer sends you home, not because you're sick but for any other reason, then he should put you on 'furlough' and you will, eventually, receive 80% of your pay. The reason that I say 'eventually' is that the employer must put in a furlough return and receive the 80% for you (it doesn't cost him anything) but the government are projecting that the payment system won't be up and running until the end of April.

It's a better bet for him to furlough you as it doesn't cost him. If you're off sick it does cost him the statutory sick pay.

I got all that info from listening to an employment barrister on the radio today. Do some Googling on it.
