That's what I find too @shiney ...much better to keep going at a gentler pace, as they so rightly say ' if you ease, you cease'. Or ' if you don't use it , you lose it'!! :dbgrtmb:

      Good day
Oh my, I forgot to come here earlier! I got right back into making my first purse. I used the pieces of fabric that were my least favourite in case things came out badly so I wouldn't be angry over wasting good fabric. I think it came out not badly but I did manage to knock out the timing on my big sewing machine so that is going to be a headache to fix.

But the repair can wait for later. I need to get outside and do a few things.
And it is a sunny day, yes cool, but sunny so it will be pleasant and I will force myself to stop putting off laying down mulch where it is needed!

      Have a lovely day all!

@Upsydaisy that is faux leather (vinyl) and the colour is really a deep blue/green - guess my computer camera sucks!

I did get the mulch laid, and a few other things done and another round of trying to get the machine to work on heavy fabrics again. At least I got it to work on lighter ones again so I'm going in the right direction anyway ;)

Having been in lockdown and getting more done and earlier as far as garden start up, I'm finding it odd to look for things to do that I want to do! @Upsydaisy this is probably something you'll be going through once you have your Dad's place sorted. You've spent years taking care of him and his home and it kinda leaves a weird emptiness to each day. I went through that with my friend, a hemiplegic, who passed some 4 years ago. Don't let it het you down. It's a good time to have an extra cuppa and work on your to do list of happy tasks.

@Flumpy a leather hide is major money and I may or may not tackle that even when my skills improve. As a by the way, the pattern was bought from a lady "over there"! Originally done in two earthtone tartans.

                Aloha everyone,

I'm still plodding along OK. Yesterday was very hot and humid (with none of the promised rain ) and I expect today to be the same. In between gardening I'm playing a lot of bridge online.

                Keep well

                Aloha!

Another warm day ahead , made an early start out in the garden this morning as I am going over to my Dad's this afternoon to do a bit more sorting out.

Lori you're right in your last post, that is exactly how I'm feeling. It's times like this that I really wish we lived nearer to our sons, so that I could fuss over them.:heehee: I think I'm just a 'Mother Hen' and need to fuss and nurture......I'll smoother it all on my hubs and plants!!

                  Enjoy your day everyone.:spinning:

                      Good day
@shiney I find that if I spend a lot of time "mousing" online, that the opposite shoulder from the mouse gets very sore. I'm right handed and I think I drop my left shoulder slightly which strains the muscles. I sometimes offset this by putting my left forearm on top of my head for a little while. Sounds silly but it does seem to work. :)

I've got a busy work morning reupholstering some chair seats and then an afternoon free to putter and play. Well, actually crawl and weed. The buckthorn that I got rid of last year was shading an area of the lawn and now that area is doing well with the extra sunshine but it had also dropped hundreds of berries before I got it down and now they are also enjoying the sun. I figure if I keep at pulling them for the summer, next year I might only have "ordinary" lawn weeds to worry about! I'm also going to saw some metal pipe to make the legs for my fold down greenhouse staging. Don't need the racks until probably spring but might as well get it done :blue thumb:

@Upsydaisy I'm glad you've got a hubby on whom to lavish the extra attention. :)

Cheers all :coffee:and have a lovely day!

                            Good day
Another day of sunshine here and actually going to be warm too! Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil in the morning I usually empty the birdbath, clean it and refill. It is really just a large plant saucer that sits on the rail of the deck but since it holds over a gallon of water, it is suitable for the birds to perform their ablutions. This morning whilst refilling, a hummingbird was hovering only about 16 inches from me. What a lovely treat in the morning :)

I finished my wage earning work yesterday but didn't get all of my to-do puttering done so I will continue today. My new autovent opener arrived last night and as usual, retrofitting will need to be done which will give me another fun putter to add to my list. And a little laundry to do too. So easy when I'm already on the main floor and only have to go down one set of stairs to the cellar to do it.

I hope everyone has as nice a day as I am expecting to have and play safe please!

                                Aloha everyone,

We have problems with the greenhouse! One of the roof panels (5ft x 2.5ft) slid out and has broken into a thousand pieces (didn't actually count them). This is going to be a problem to replace as the timber bar that holds the bottom brackets in place is too rotten to hold them. The greenhouse is 44 years old :old:. I'll have to see whether the glass firm can do anything about it.

Lots of rain yesterday evening and overnight. :hapfeet:. That'll save two hours of watering per day.

                                Keep well

                                Aloha!
