Thought I would get in first this morning @Flumpy ....coffee is ready!:)

Yes sadly as @shiney says we don't really use screens here. We are the exact opposite all windows are open and all the upstairs ones remain open at night as well. First thing in the morning..weather permitting all our doors are opened too. Have to admit we do get a few 'visitors ' drop by occasionally. Even get dogs that are 'off lead' come through one door and leave by the other...usually when cooking aromas are whafting about!! Cats are normal good, did have one that use to come in but haven't seen it for a good while now. Birds often fly through, I don't like seeing them panic to get out though . Normally we leave them be and they soon work out an exit plan!

One of the saddest and most depressing times of the year for me is to close everything up in the Autumn. I love to go to sleep listening to the outside sounds. Takes me back to our camping days and sleeping under canvas, listening to all the great nightlife sounds.
Ahhh....those were the days, I don't think I could cope with ground sleeping now!!:snooze:

    Enjoy the cooler temps. :dbgrtmb:

Oh dear @moyra ....side effects include tiredness and insomnia...perhaps they are not really suitable to you, go back to your Dr as there are other options to try out.
        Take care.:wub2:

It's good that we're all not alike in preferences and I really like the peace and quiet of the place when I'm resting. One of the reasons we moved here was for the peace and quiet and because of my sensitivity to sound and to the different effects on my hearing from air movement within the house. We always keep our inside doors open so that there is no change in air pressure between rooms. Hypersensitive hearing in only good in some situations. Fortunately my hearing is diminishing slightly each year when I have my annual hearing test. I can still hear the field mouse scamper across the patio when we're having dinner outside with friends. He's a lovely little thing :)

            Good day
I have my windows open as much as possible and like hearing the birds in the morning. It is funny listening to them after their eggs have hatched. You can hear the cacophony of the young expressing their hunger and gradually diminishing as each one gets fed. I've got to admit that I'm not crazy about morning doves. Their cooing is erratic and not at all restful! Some nights the crickets and frogs can get noisy too.

It started raining at around 5 this morning and it wonderfully still carrying on. We needed the water for our lawns. And my rain barrels are filling up nicely which was also needed as once I got the pumps going, they decided to be overzealous and moved a bit more water than I wanted. But I am not going to mess with them. I'd rather too much than none!

Going to be baking this morning. A loaf and rolls of chilli bread, a couple of baguettes and then a loaf of gluten free for grandson #3.

The rain is supposed to stop around lunch and that is when I'll be going out to start ripping out more weeds. So much easier when the ground is soaked.

I hope everyone has as pleasant a Saturday as I believe I'm going to have :)

Is it still morning? Awake most of the night as the weather is throwing a seven day tantrum and loud with it. Even having to light a fire IN JUNE.

They can also be addictive too. I’d definitely recommend going on an alternative :grphg:

We are alike in that. I came here to a very sparsely populated offshore island for the peace. The silence at night is utterly lovely and a healing. I often wish my hearing were not so sensitive too. Punch drunk now after three days of storm. I am nearly 80 and no sign of it abating... I never play music etc either

sounds lovely, I would love to get off this rat race and have some peace and nice weather at the weekends, it’s miserable here at the moment with heavy showers in between which is slowly battering my flowers

((HUGS)) Deluges and icy gales here so yes the peace and no the weather. But often now I have no idea what day it is anyways.
I barricaded my flowers etc in with an old table..

When I was mid 20s I wished for time to finish all my knitting etc; fell ill then permanently so be careful with the wishes...

re the t drug ramadol. I remember refusing it for pain for that reason. I t has a bad press. I cope with codeine which is the only drug that gives me any respite from pain but limit it to night use for side effect reasons. Makes me sleepy. But it kills the pain dead.
