YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2021

I actually need very little sleep Michael, I usually go up between 12:30 and 1 am. If I'm not tired enough and lay there for a while my joints start to niggle and I end up tossing and turning. Hubs is brilliant and never complains but I am aware that he needs a good night's sleep, he goes up at 10-10:30 and our radio is set for 6am. Hubs gets up and brings me my breakfast in bed...spoilt I know.

 

Nice to be spoilt @Upsydaisy ... and nice to have someone you can spoil (there's nobody for me to spoil now, except Bella cat )
I am dead to the world by 9.30 but I am up very early.

 

Funny I didn’t sleep well either but think that’s due to running round like headless chickens all week, I can’t get off the wheel

It's going to be a ' go with the flow ' type of day again, with a definite hour or two of gardening thrown in somewhere.
Also have to write up a final grocery shopping list too....not looking forward to that trip out later in the week !!

Well the laundry is done and now waiting to be hung out, looks to be a good drying day.
Plan to visit my sister today at some point too.

The builders have finished my little extension now but the plaster has to dry properly before I can paint it. I think I'll wait until the spring

Is the extension now part of your kitchen?

I didn't get to visit my sister after all ,one of her daughters has tested positive for Covid and my sister can't get hold of any testing kits ( like me last week!) to test herself. Her daughter visited her a few days ago saying that she felt unwell!!!

Just heard from our eldest ,he's over his bout of it and feels OK to travel down to us tomorrow .

 

Sorry to hear about your niece and sister @Upsydaisy, I hope your sister tests negative.
Glad your son is better though and can come to see you. Is he staying for Christmas ?

The extension is just a little room and replaces a glass/perspex lean-to that was outside the back door.
There are patio doors to go from the kitchen into the new room, they were once the outside doors before the lean-to was constructed.
I fill everywhere with plants

Thank Michael, yes I hope she can get hold of a testing kit soon and gets a negative result.

Yes our eldest is...or was staying until New Years Eve, not sure now of his plans as his girlfriend has gone to her parents up in Manchester then they planned to meet in Edinburgh for New Year before travelling back to London together. That probably isn't happening now.

What a lovely and very useful space you have now ..it will also make a great place to sit and enjoy your garden too ,especially with all your beautiful potted plants !!!

Good Morning all, nearly there not long now. I have to go for my echocardiogram tomorrow at ll.30 so hope that goes ok. and then it will be the big day of cooking. I haven't bothered with a tree and decorations this year because of my health. Steve is not bothered so neither am I. Just get Christmas over and then New Year and we then be heading into Spring, Roll on!

Not looking forward to it whatsoever.

Tomorrow I am visiting my brother and taking a few bits down to him, my younger sister is coming to his on Christmas day.

Then...that's it !!, The big day will be with us .

Christmas decorations are not important, what's important is that you enjoy the day in your own way.

Don't stress over it @Upsydaisy, it's only another day and will come and go before you know it. It isn't that important. It's just another day. And all the fuss is quite meaningless when you think about it.
