Oh, yes, I remember having that shot when I was 6. Lots of tears. I had been exposed to another child with yellow fever and that was the only reason I received it.

I have been told that I can't have the Yellow Fever injection as it is a live vaccine - so is the one for shingles (which I'm not to have either.)

          Aloha everyone,

It's not a bad day out there and there was nobody at Tesco when I got there for them opening at 6 a.m. Was out of there by 6.15 and I think they had four customers. :)

Apart from my slightly sore arm I feel OK :fingers crossed: Mrs Shiney wouldn't let me do any gardening yesterday and said I had to rest :noidea:. That changed slightly when she found her glasses had gone wonky and I needed to take her into town to the optician. They said it was too dodgy to try and straighten the side piece that is bent (no idea how it happened) and they have ordered a new side. We have insurance that covers it so no problem.

As it was lovely and sunny we took a leisurely drive back through the country lanes. Mrs S has hardly been out for a year!

The news from Myanmar is not good . We were touring through there last January - lovely place and people.

          Keep well

          Aloha!

Good morning all, @shiney I am glad you and Hannah have had your jabs, I am afraid I turned mine down because of my allergies but I am not sure I did right. Steve said no because the vaccine has not been trialled enough but I would think it has now. Yes, I am sorry to learn about Myranmar too. I haven't been lucky enough to visit there but I have followed their struggle.

Have a good day everyone, take care and above all stay safe and well. God bless.:wub2:

@moyra Thanks. Mrs S hasn't had it because of her allergic reaction to vaccinations. I agree with @Upsydaisy (wish you better Upsy) that you should check with your doctor whether your allergies make a difference. Definitely don't take any notice of Steve's comment about not being trialled enough. The initial trials for each one were about 40,000 each which is a lot more than normal. since then there have been 9 million vaccinations just in this country. There is bound to be a number of bad reactions, as there is to any jab or any medicine, but the incidence of severe illness by contracting Covid is enormously greater.

Even I, who have a needle phobia and don't even have the flu jab, have had the Covid one. :blue thumb:

                  Good day
It is just now getting light and the temperature out there is 13f. The wind was howling most of the night but I'm sure it wasn't as strong as the ones people here regularly report.

@moyra yes, I agree with @Upsydaisy and @shiney your doctor is your best adviser.

Sam had a pretty rough day yesterday. They had to put a tube down her throat and other nasty things. I don't know how she is this morning as I told her I would wait for her to call me. Because as you know, whilst in the hospital, you get woken so many times and then very tired, extra calls although meant with good intentions, take away yet more sleep.

I've got lots of things to do to keep me busy. Lots of things I've been putting off so best to get those over with. :blue thumb:

                  Cheers all :coffee:

Hi Moyra, when I went for my injection, they ask if you have any allergies which I do (certain antibiotics, nickel and dust mights) they said that was fine so went ahead, I’ve been fine since, they also had a doctor there checking my allergies too :)

Good morning all, hope you're all well this morning.
Really hope that Sam's recovery is progressing well albeit with some unpleasant bits to endure.:grphg:

Well to go with my gammy leg and arm, shoulder and hand my kidneys are now trying ( and succeeding) to make their presence felt by becoming infected . The meds haven't kicked in yet so still feeling a tad ropey with excruciating back pain, nausea and the the obvious symptom ;).

A mild day so I am definitely going to try and make myself spent the majority of it in the garden :fingers crossed: ,as it's so soggy the weeds should be easy to remove .

We'll see if I make it or not...the mind is willing even though the body is not so:heehee:.
