    @Upsydaisy Well done on your walk :yay:

    You're welcome to some cake at any time. We have plenty of lemon drizzle in the freezer and we have it made specially for us. :rolleyespink: :dancy: The lady that makes it specialises in cake making and always did the baking for the weekly church sale and her cakes were so good that we used to buy 60 or 70 of them (special order) for our open garden. They were all loaf tin size and only cost between £2.80 and £3.40 depending on what they were. The most expensive was walnut and coffee. Our favourite is lemon drizzle as it is extremely light, a good lemon flavour with a very thin crunchy sugar ice top and not too sweet at all. That was the £2.80 cake and the best seller (all sold for the same price). As she wasn't able to cook any for the church since lockdown (they weren't allowed to open their Saturday sales) we ordered six for ourselves for when we have visitors (Mrs S can't have cake :sad:) and she let us have them for £2.00 plus a bucket of cooking apples. :blue thumb:

    It's cold out there but I think I'll have a go at preparing the French bean area - loosen up the planting holes (take out any weeds) and put in 100 canes and tie the framework together. That will be a good couple of Shiney gardening days' work. Then it will be a good week, or more, of weaving the overhead framework for both lots of beans. :phew:

    I wonder whether I can run the propagator heating cables through my coat. :scratch: :heehee:

        Thanks @shiney!!! How lovely to have someone local who makes scrummy homemade cakes .....and at such a good price too!!

        Must agree that you can't beat a slice of lemony Lemon Drizzle. My Dad's favourite was Coffee Walnut .....or a really good Lardy Cake!! He became a bit of a connoisseur on Lardys !!!!;):roflol:

          The sun is out and we're still as dry as a bone here!!
          Just because we don't have any rain forecast for today...it will hopefully rain.;):fingers crossed:.
          I will have to do some watering today, especially the pots.

          Still no @moyra :noidea::sad:.

          Have an enjoyable day everyone.:spinning:

                Morning @Flumpy , yes I was wondering that too. Obviously we don't need to be told the outcome of such contact...just that she is receiving the appropriate care and attention.

                Black tea please, no sugar...ta!:)

                    Aloha everyone,

                    I managed to weed, dig and put in 50 canes and tie the cross pieces before my back forced me to give up. I'm still suffering a bit but it may loosen up more later and I hope to carry on with the canes.

                    Meals on wheels again today.

                    Keep well :biggrin:

                    Aloha!

                            For Sunday lunch I started with home made chicken soup followed by roast chicken, with herbs and garlic on the outside, butter under the skin and lemon stuffed inside. With crispy roast spuds, cauli and peas. We were full up after that.

                            This evening will be just a simple meal of bagels (we still spell it the English way 'beigels' and not the U.S. way, with an 'a' that seems to have taken over in this country). That shall be accompanied with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Later on I may have some of the rhubarb sponge that I made the other day.
