YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2022

Oops, forgot to say good day!

I've just finished a "normal" Saturday morning. Clothes washing done, some dusting done and now it's time to play a bit. I've got another top cut out. Should be interesting to see how it fits as I've been playing with various pattern pieces.

 

Are we going to see a picture this time?

 

Maybe on the hanger because I can't suck in my gut and hold my breath long enough to pose and shoot!

I got distracted and set up bobbin hooks. And I have to rethread both the serger and the coverstitch before start so best get on with that.

Good morning Upsydaisy and Shiney and anyone else who is rising!, Shiney I know what you mean about the volume in cinemas, far to loud, I have one ear that’s not 100% hearing and it’s too loud for that

off to mums today as it’s her 86th birthday and May have a nosey round there garden too while it’s dry ish!.
Shiney we used to have a cat simba who used to head but your leg if he was hungry until you gave in

It is 21f -6c with a wind chill of -14c , cloudy and dropping fine flakes of snow. The guessers got it right this time!

I'm having a cuppa and my show will be starting in 4 minutes. I'll get some vacuuming done and try the custard slice recipe this morning while it airs too.

Yum...can't wait!!

 

The puff pastry was nice and flaky, the icing cooperated, the choclolate on the icing was okay but I'm not much of a decorator, but the custard did not thicken. It looks like it's okay until I try to cut it.

I'll try a bit more corn flour next time I try to make it.

@Flumpy I took a pic of the top but when you look at the picture, it just looks like a black rag on a hanger.

 

Yes but everything is there Lori, looks aren't everything. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....and I for one behold custard slices!!

I bet they still taste great!

Still a bit dark and grey outside but I think we'll have an OKish day for January.

Meeting up with a friend and off to the cinema at lunchtime . I can't believe it's almost 2 years since I last went!! It will be so good to resume our regular visits once more.

The weather is same old same old again. Cloudy, -14c 10f and we are expecting a couple of inches of snow. Nothing exciting. Almost boring!

I haven't been to the cinema for years either @Upsydaisy and @Michael Hewett . When I did go, it was only maybe once or twice a year. I do like live theater but those are shut down too.
