YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2022

We mostly wandered around searching out the old haunts from our youth. Most are now gone as the city has undergone a massive rebuild/ facelift over the last couple of decades...but reminiscing was great fun!

 

They are out spraying the orchards again! Made Van jump off the bed as I think he thought the tractor was coming in the window! It is hazy sun with a light breeze.

As it is Friday, J is meeting John for a beer and lunch after doing a few Baffa bits. He got the furniture back in place yesterday and the French Door blinds back up. He had to make new hanging hooks with the new roof.

Things did not go well yesterday because the new court "Caselines" software decided to foul up the whole business. The battle will continue but Jim's ex managed to get the case moved 20 miles the other side from her and some 80 miles from us.

On a much better note, I too am meeting an old friend. She and her hubby moved to Quebec and a fair bit north from me at about a zone 4 and her home is also in the shadow of a mountain most of the day too. Though she likes it for the remoteness, she does miss the nice gardens down here in the summer. We're meeting for brunch and I've got loads of fabric to pass to her and her friends. They are quilters and make quilts for people with cancer.

And then I have some puttering to do. All of the rubbish is gathered and ready for collection at the kerb. All the recycle and brown leaf bags are waiting there too. So yes, just puttering.

Oh so sorry to hear that Lori..80 miles isn't right at all !!. How did she manage to wangle that for goodness sake!!

Just when you think you are progressing! What an evil woman ... can she not let go and let everyone live in peace. My sympathies with you, Jim and the girls.

The Baffa is looking fantastic, you've both done a grand job.

Hope you're enjoying a bit of quiet 'me' time. I haven't had any for...well I can't remember how long! I love having hubs around but also miss a bit of time to myself too.....gosh that makes me sound horrid doesn't it...I don't mean it too.

Hubs has just informed me that we need to sort out some paperwork at one of our Building Societies in town ( nearby one) and it's best we go now as they shut at 4:30 on Fridays... I wasn't planning on going anywhere today.

Just got back in as it started to rain a dribble. We noticed ,as the bus passed her house, that my sister was home after visiting our brother so on the way back we hopped off the bus a stop earlier and called in...extra bonus was our niece and great nephew were also there too..

So a good natter ,coffee and Shortbread biscuits were greatly enjoyed by all.

 

I had a lovely brunch with my friend and then came home and took the barbecue apart to put in new burners. I'm still here and I did start it up to see if it worked properly. It operates like new and looks almost new It is a 1999 Weber Platinum Natural gas unit and it has really proven it's worth

Good day
It is clear and sunny and the guessers say that later it will be brutally hot and humid. So, a good day to stay inside.

I'm going to start emptying a couple of rooms upstairs so I can clean the carpets. I want them all to be fresh before it comes to heating season and being behind closed windows again. So, I'm going to try to do two rooms today, two tomorrow and then the hall and stairs the next. It is also low electric rates these three days and that is another motivator to get on with it!

And I've got some laundry to do and bread to bake.

Hopefully it will be a productive day
