Bit of sun and cloud but pleasant enough at 18c with a light breeze going to warm/hot.

The angle grinding continues starting at 6am and is still going now. We have decided someone is doing a few hours before going to their normal job.

J couldn't get all what he needed at the DIY yesterday but got the marble chippings for the border and some gravel to top up where we park. He will go to another today to look for small bags of tile cement so he can finish the Baffa inside tiling.

    Have a good day everyone,

      Good morning Vicky.

Gosh that must be very annoying!! Over here you have restrictions on what you can and can't do. When hubs was working on our house we remained very aware of them so as not to disturb our next door neighbours.

Hope J can find what he needs today.:fingers crossed:. Hubs suggested we go into town later but due to the weather I said no. I don't mind walking in rain but these are very heavy ,albeit short downpours that we seem to be experiencing at the moment...not pleasant to be caught out in one.

      Enjoy your day.xxx

        Morning Upsy.

I am sure it is not permitted in built-up areas ... but when there are no properties nearby ... that was a zoom pic.

Here is J's shopping cart with some of the heavy stuff (except for the paper towels) .. he does wear his back brace!

PS The noise sounds like a buzzing bee since we have the windows wide open.

          Good day
It is cool 66f and very calm and lots of puffy clouds about.

I was lucky. When my new neighbour bought his house and gutted it and rebuilt the interior, it was winter and everyone had their windows shut so the noise wasn't too annoying. Also, it is against the bylaws to do this type of noisy work before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Monday - Saturday and not allowed any noise over 80 decibels on a Sunday. Of course everyone obeys... :rolleyespink:

I have some window washing to do on the outside kitchen windows and I have a bit of aluminum over the bay window to clean first. All easy peasy because I won't have the sun in my eyes. And I have a few other little chores to do which will be simple to manage. Looks like I'll have to add puttering to my list in order to fill my day! :blue thumb:

          Cheers :coffee:

            Good morning everyone.

I hope everyone is well and looking forward to whatever is planned for your day.

I had a good clear out of the dressing table drawers yesterday and now today I just have the 4 drawers in the bedside cabinet to do .

Then it'll be all done! I have bags of rubbish to take out to the bins and a couple of big bags to take to the charity shops either later today or tomorrow.

I would like to eventually start a big toy clear out too as I have enough toys and early years educational resources to kit our a nursery/ preschool!! But I'm holding back a bit.....just in case any grandbabies appear.;)

            Have a fab day now.

                Good morning Vicky.
                How are you both today?

We are in the middle of a torrential downpour at the moment.:hapydancsmil:

The question is...will I still be getting so excited at the thought of rain this time next week...hmmmmm:scratch:

Yes I have made myself get onto a ' brutal with no 2nd thoughts ' mode this time around.:heehee: It's all too easy to pop things back saying that it might be needed/ used/ worn one day..then it dawns on you that you've been saying exactly the same things for the past few years!!

No more...into the bag and be gone with you all!!:dbgrtmb:
Then I can set about refilling the empty spaces you left behind.:blue thumb:

What are you two up to today ?

Oh the sun is coming out....the rain has passed.

I must now go and empty all the trays that the potted plants were standing in ..poor things one minute their bone dry the next they're drowning!

                Enjoy your day.xx

I've vowed to do the same when I put things back into the 'new' kitchen after the builders finish. When I emptied the cupboards etc before the builders started I found things I hadn't seen for years and things I'd forgotten about.
Late partner Beryl used to buy things and never use them (they were 'too pretty' to
use !) and the result was that we've got so much stuff and I only want to keep what I need now.

Plus the fact that years ago there were more people around so we needed more crockery etc but now it's only me and I rarely get visitors so what's the point of keeping all this stuff.

J has just gone to finish staining the French doors on The Baffa ... should be finished with that task within the hour. Then he will finish the inside tiling that came off which will be another hour or so.

I am sitting with my feet on the Circulation Maxx energiser for 25 minutes. I shall go tend to my seedlings/plantlets about 10ish.

I don't wear dresses any more but have jeans, jeggings and leggings in all materials and colours, probably 40 pairs or more. I have an uncountable number of tee shirts/tops/tunics/blouses/sweaters.
So pleased you are getting your much needed rain. We are now threatened with a tropical rainstorm Sunday evening through Wednesday which is desperately needed. Of course, this is planned to arrive when our long-time friends arrive from the UK on Monday and to us for dinner on Wednesday!

Have a lovely day whatever you do. xx

Morning Michael. You popped up while I was typing.

We are the same. We used to entertain a lot but not so much now. Sadly two lots of our friends passed away (one from each couple) and the other went back to the UK. We six always got together. J gave away a box of glass sets last week.

                      Have a nice day.

It was mostly family with us @Victoria but the older generation have all died and the young ones are busy living their lives with partners and wives. The only ones of my generation I'm in contact with are my brother who I seldom hear from and a cousin who phones sometimes, and one of Beryl's cousins who lives a long way away so we just phone each other. Her niece I rarely hear from (as did she)

I hope your day is going well

                          Good day
It is gearing up to be a sunny pleasant day and I hope to do most of my puttering outside.

Sounds like everyone has been having a darned good clear out. @Michael Hewett I have loads of kitchen stuff. My kitchen is fairly large (when I bought new door knobs, I had to buy 48) and all of the cupboards are full and the overflow is in pantries in the cellar. My everyday set of dishes has 24 place settings, then I have my summer set with 12 settings and my formal dinner set with 16 settings and my Italian meal set with 8 settings. I use the various sets at one time or another every year. I really would like to clear out my dining room buffet unit but that will come another day.

I have a little shopping to do today and a quick trip to the dump to drop off some old batteries. Other than that, it will be a ho hum day

                          Cheers :coffee:

Yes if you use them there's no need to get rid but things that are just sitting in a cupboard for years and are forgotten about are surplus to requirements and I don't see the point in keeping them. However I couldn't be minimalist, I think it would be boring

                            Have a lovely day @CanadianLori ...

@Michael Hewett I should have qualified that when I said I used them all - sometimes I only use 4 settings of the Italian, or 6 settings of the summer and so on. I too do not have many large gatherings. I think covid helped kill a lot of that.
