The carpet will not be around the sink and washing machine @Victoria, I'm going to have some sort of lino there. I do the cooking (as much as I do) in a utility room.
When the big cooker broke down and Beryl had become so disabled she couldn't do any cooking I decided to have just a table-top oven and a separate hob with only one ring. There's no point in having a big cooker that's never used.
There's going to be some easy chairs in the new kitchen where I can sit and look down the garden through the new French doors so I thought a carpet would make it warmer and more comfortable.

I hope Munchkin is all right now ... one previous cat had a similar problem as her and it was cystitis. She had medication for it but it would come back periodically. She lived to be 22 years old

      Good morning everyone.

So glad to hear that Munchkin is safely back home with you all Vicky, what a relief!

Michael, we're like you and very rarely have the need for using either of our two bigger built-in ovens and tend to use the small table top one mostly...no point heating up a bigger one. Your kitchen sounds like it will become the true heart to your home , being able to sit and relax in there and lookout over the garden sounds so lovely.

As I'm feeling a little better today I'm debating whether to go and see my brother. Trouble is I have to leave at 9 and won't get back until almost 2pm and I'm not 100% sure I can face the journey, I also know that I will be sat on my own for at least 40mins while he goes off early for his dinner for some strange reason...definitely not really in the mood but......:dunno:.

I hope your day is going to be better than mine.

I didn't know you'd been unwell @Upsydaisy (I haven't looked much at websites lately) I'm glad you're a bit better today but I don't think you should force yourself to do something you don't feel 100% up to. It doesn't sound like a pleasant time apart from actually seeing your brother, and he would probably prefer to see you when you're completely better too.

Morning Michael and Upsy and Lori and Flumpy when you arrive.

There was a gorgeous sunrise this morning but we are still under a thunderstorm warning.

Your new planned setup sounds very cosy Michael and will be in time for the cold weather. I can just picture you and Bella relaxing there.

Pleased to hear you are feeling better Upsy and it seems like a tiring journey to visit R.

It is good having Munch home. She was very antsy and paced all around but after her 8pm medicine she settled on the monk's bench in the foyer which has water and a litter box in it. The only thing she would eat though was treaties (like Dreamies). She came to bed in the night and when I woke she was on the dresser chair. She has had a good drink of water too. Now J has to give her medicine ... but she may have disappeared!!! Ah, deed done!

J to doctor late morning then meeting Donald for lunch as they meet about ten minutes from the clinic.

          Have a good day everyone.

Unfortunately Michael one of us has to go over to check things and I'm the only one this week who is going over it seems. His memory is only very short lived now...5 maybe 10 minutes on a good day so he won't remember me anyway.

We are supposedly in for a lovely day tomorrow so I would really prefer to get out in the garden...and we may have to go into Southampton too:wallbanging:....I hope not though:fingers crossed:.

Thanks Michael...Munchkin and I are united in our suffering at the moment....that's why she has my full sympathy, poor mite.:cat-kittyandsmiley:

            Enjoy your day.xx

              Good day
It is sunny and 48f that's 8c I believe. The guessers say we might get up to 70f but I don't really care. The sun makes everything great, no matter the thermometer reading.

Thank you @Victoria for saying what I think of this woman. A lawyer, for free, has sent her a threatening letter and told her if they go to court over this, the lawyer will sue her for the hours of professional time that she has aggravated. I hope this works.:fingers crossed:

@Michael Hewett I've thought about getting one of those counter top ovens but then I remember that I use the big oven 2-3 times a week and also, my air fryer has an accessory rack that stays stationary and I could roast smaller dinners in there if I wished. Heat is heat right? I have a single "hob" which is Induction and quite often I'll take that outside and cook out there if it is hot weather or perhaps something odorous.

I have lots of little chores on today's to do list so I will get in gear here. Have a lovely day all. We need to eke everything we can out of our outdoor time as autumn is coming soon!

              Cheers :coffee:

                Why did I go....:dunno: .

My trip started with me getting bombarded by a pigeon :gaah:.

                20220915_102718.jpg

So I had to remove my coat..thankfully it was mild and I didn't need it. :wallbanging:

Arrived to find that my brother had dismantled his wheelchair and couldn't reassemble it....and had no tools.
Hubs had to use a kitchen knife to prise outer tyres open to refit their inner tubes ..well done m'dearest.:love30: , he then pumped up the tyres and fitted the wheels back on the chair. I have no idea why my brother decided to take it all apart!

My dear brother then left us even earlier today to go for his dinner (12-2pm). He said he didn't want to be late so he went at 11:30!
So we only spent an hour with him!!:thud:

So still not feeling a 100%...that sums up my day.

                Tomorrow....I'm definitely in the garden.....all day!:fingers crossed:

@Upsydaisy I hope you start getting more battery power!

Your brother sounds like he was one of those babies who liked to strip off their diaper and paint their surroundings with poo! Did it "just because". :heehee:

It is 71f, sunny and perfect right now :)

                      Good morning everyone.

I'm hoping for a nice quiet uneventful day out in the garden today......and I don't want to see any Pigeons either!

Vicky I hope all went OK for J and that Munchkin is responding to her meds......I'll email you in a bit.

We have a lovely sunny day ahead but the temps are beginning to tumble a high of 18C with a nippy low of just 4C tonight...not looking forward to that at all.

                      Have a a lovely day.

Oh goodness what a day Upsy! I assume your raincoat is washable. I can't imagine why R took the wheelchair apart and thank goodness your R was there to assist.

J's doctor went over the MRI, gave him two pain prescriptions, Co-codomol and Amitripilyne and suggested he see a Neurosurgeon. He will speak to my Neurologist when we go on Thursday ... J is in the same "system" so Dr Beuno can pull his info up.

Last night I got an e-mail and another long-time couple are arriving here on Monday for 12 days. He and I worked at Hozelock 1990-92, me Personnel/Pensions and he Computing. They are not renting a car and want us to meet sometime. It was meeting them last time that I subluxed my knee on sloping calcada (cobblestone) to the villa they were staying in when we took them home and my journey began!

It is a gorgeous morning here and the day and weekend look great.

Good morning everyone a tad nippy this morning....a taste of things to come.

I had a lovely, albeit tinged with sadness, catch up with a friend yesterday, she flies back to South Africa in a few days time and will most likely not return to the UK again.
Precious memories will always remain of our times together.

Another cool but sunny day is on the cards for today. Bulb sorting and planting today.:dbgrtmb:

                                Enjoy your day.
