Thank you Michael What a lovely picture Upsy.

Pleased you had a good visit but why won't you friend go back to the UK?

Things are just about ready for our friends visit. They will be with us about 5pm so that gives them the whole day to "holiday". J will pick up some buckets of KFC tenders and he already bought coleslaw, potato salad and cherry tomatoes for a buffet light meal. When we were in the UK we often got KFC when we got together as it is Karen and my favourite. Just need a quick vacuum and mop.

    Have a great day.

      Morining Vicky.:)

Sadly she not in the best of health ,has serious heart issues and is quite frail bless her, She is older than me and travels the long trip here and back on her own and it's all too much now for her. I am constantly amazed by her,:love30: to see and talk with her would never know of the serious decline in her health or the sad events she has had to face in her life unless you really knew her. Such a lovely sweet and humble lady.:imphrt:

      Have a fabulous time today.xx

Sorry to hear that Upsy. I wish you friend well. I am amazed at older people who travel alone. I did it once in 1989 when I went to West Africa on business but fortunately I only had to go as far as Brussels and met up with a colleague there (then reverse) but I did not like that portion of the journey at all.

She use to travel everywhere, she had her 80th back in August. She is truly an amazing person . I am very fortunate to have friends of all ages and they certainly enrich my life no end.

To look at her you would never think she was 80...I'll email you a pic of her that I took yesterday, so sad to think we will never get to hug each other again.

              Good day
It is lovely and sunny and 66f. The guessers say it will be a pleasantly warm day.

I've got my first load of laundry on the line and am having a cuppa and catching up with the news.

One granddaughter is still asleep and the other was picked up by her father to go for a dental check up. She'll be dropped back after for a few hours and the girls and I will make some meringues and pumpkin cakes.

I handed off the paperwork I had gotten completed toward getting Emily into school and we spent some time online looking at the grade 9 curriculum material to see what we could do to catch up.

The rest of the day will be a play day. Baking, goofing around outside.

              Cheers :coffee:

                Boa tarde (good afternoon) Flumpy.

It is my friend coming over today called Karen. We met at work in 1985.

J got a call from the Vet this morning and he had to go back and pick up a prescription for anti-biotics. The blood tests revealed Munchkin has e-Coli causing the UTI ... so that is four medications she is on, poor poppet. She is constipated from all this already! I had e-Coli in my hip and thigh and I had to take anti-biotics for five months as my hip would not be put back in until I was clear!

All the Chrysanths I had did not smell pleasant, more green like.

So now I know. ;) I love the scent of Dianthus, cinnamony/spicy.

Enjot your lawn cutting. It is 27c here already!

Lawn all cut, edge cut and cleared dead plants, I checked and it is the Dianthus I can smell, I had to dead head some of it, the pansy is flowering nicely, it’s lovely and sunny but a very cold wind here, feet up now and relax :spinning:

                          Good morning .:)

Looking forward to another lovely ( albeit cooler) day in the garden. We spent the whole day out there yesterday 10am until 5:30 and it was warm enough to enjoy our main meal out there as well.

Managed to get quite a bit done, cutting back, deadheading, seed harvesting, planting out some replacement Wallflowers ( grown from seed) for the old ones that had got woody and were dug up a couple of months ago. Took some cuttings from a few of the older remaining Wallflowers and Pelargoniums too.

Definitely bulb sorting today, I did make a start on this the other day, but got sidetracked somehow!!

I hope your day went to plan yesterday Vicky and that you all had a thoroughly brilliant time.:)

                          Have a restful Sunday everyone.

A nice sunrise ruined only by the distant gunshots ... hunting day!

We had a fun time with our friends. There wasn't a dull moment. They arrived just after 5pm and left at 10.30pm. Neil took a new way to us through the country and didn't get lost. Karen retired last month from admin at a private school and Neil retired a year or so ago from the National Grid/Fireman. She is 59, he 63. The eldest daughter Emma is 28 and joins the Police Force next month and Emma 24 is a hairdresser. Of course, Munchkin had to join us and shock/horror Van came out ( he has escaped into the house as they arrived) and joined the group ... it was the first time he has ever done this and the first time the Powells have ever seen him!!!

The Powells liked all the work done, pictures to go up in Algarve Garden how it looked.

                            A quiet day today.

                            Have a peaceful Sunday.
