YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2022

All is quiet on the Southern front folks. Having scrambled eggs on toast for dinner ... and maybe a couple of squares of chocolate later and a rum and coke.

Mmmmmm yum Michael!!. I hope you don't mind but I've invited myself round. How about freshly baked crusty bread with Chocolate and Hazelnut spread...now that's a thought ...if not no worries a slab of choccy will be equally acceptable.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

A morning of housework then I plan to finish preparing the 3 Urn planters in readiness for filling next month. I will probably have to water everything as well.
I will keep a constant eye out for Lilly Beetles as the Lillies down the end of the garden seen full of them this year, I even found one on one of the Giant Lillies that I've had in the greenhouse....horrid things.

Anyway that's my day planned ,I hope you all had a great day.

 

It is a sunny morning and a National Holiday here, Carnation Revolution/Freedom Day so the beaches will be busy as the Portuguese love going to the beach. Most larger towns/cities have a street named "25 de Abril" in honour.

I don't know if they still do it, but when we used to fly here in the 90s, several times we flew in on 25 April and everyone was given a long stemmed Carnation on existing the airport. Also, towns used to fire cannons early in the morning.

Our building works will not start. Actually there is a hold up as certain materials are not to hand.

Nothing planned here, for me at least except pottering in the garden for a bit. T'other Half has a couple of short trips to make this afternoon.

Good morning Vicky, thanks for the info I must admit to never hearing of it before.
It good to remember the past and all the achievements made by those who believed in providing the generations to come with better futures......and with little bloodshed too.
