Thanks for the hug Upsy. I celebrate Anne's passing as it was a blessing. Munch and Van will have a special treat today ... tuna or ham. They both actually love the tuna water from the tin )all my cats have) so guess we'll have tuna mayo sandwiches for lunch (on toasted bread). Tuna Mayo has chopped onion and red pepper in it.

Builder just phoned ... they are on their way. :hapydancsmil:

        Good day
Sounds like things are back on track for you @Victoria :) @Upsydaisy and @Flumpy I hope you're having a good day.

It is sunny out there but a very cool 46f 7c and quite breezy. All of the toddlers still sitting out there in pots don't seem to be suffering so I guess they embraced the tough love I gave them.

Think I'll be playing inside today as I don't mind the coolness but I don't care for the cool/windy combo.

Got the fabric cut out for a new top and am trying to work up enthusiasm to thread up the machines with matching thread and start sewing. Ah well, maybe later. It's still not 7 yet!

        Cheers all :coffee:

Good morning everyone, hope that you're all in good health today.

The noisy nightwatch was on duty again last night, I do love hearing Owls but it's now beginning to wear a bit thin!

We had a bit more rain yesterday evening so it really is an ideal time to get the planting out underway now...no excuses.
            Well......
...........apart from the fact we're out this morning doing a food shop !:heehee:

So fingers crossed it will be an afternoon in the garden, mind you I said that yesterday too. :fingers crossed:

Whatever our day brings I hope that we all really enjoy it.

            Keep safe.

              [IMG]Everyone.

              Thank you @Flumpy. Vxx
              Have a fun day Upsy.
No builders today. T'other Half is meeting our friend for lunch. I am not so keen going out to eat so will stay home with the furries, have a protein shake and enjoy my garden.

                Good day
It is 40f 4c but sunny. The plants out there seemed to have come through the chill just fine, so far :fingers crossed:

@Victoria enjoy your quiet day :) @Upsydaisy & @Flumpy (and everyone here) I hope you have a pleasant day too!

I'm going to meet a client at her new home this morning. She says it will be finished in three weeks and ready for them to move in. I've done 2 houses for her, her cabin in ski country and her cottage (3k sq ft- big) and now this new home. She is a lovely person and we end up talking more about family and other things than the actual job!

And I will be going out in my newly cleaned van. Yes, I got it done. It was a long winter and obviously no one washes the interior when it is freezing so there was quite an accumulation of dust! I hate driving a dirty vehicle, it makes me feel like I've got a big L on my forehead. And that L not being for Lori!

My afternoon will hopefully be just puttering in the back yard. It won't be very warm but I don't care!

                Cheers :coffee:

My, your temperature is fluctuating of late. One minute you are hotter than me ... then you have near Arctic weather!

Yes @Victoria, we are on a temperature roller coaster every spring. Or I call it sprinter.. We did have a couple of years where we went all the way into June with threats of frost and then suddenly someone threw the furnace on and we were hot all the way through to mid September.

It isn't global warming or any of that nonsense, it is our usual spring tease. Now you feel heat, and then you don't

                    Hello everyone ,how are you?

No noisy Owl but instead we had a good dose
of rain and thunder last night, the 2nd lot this week.:hapydancsmil:

I seem to be making slow progress in the garden as we've had to go out somewhere every day this week. We have things to attend to in town ( Southampton) today but I'm trying my best to put off going in until next week.:fingers crossed:

I did manage to have time in the garden after our grocery shopping morning yesterday . I spent the afternoon looking for potential spaces and then clearing them in readiness to pop some new plants in ...hopefully today, if I get my way!;)

Hope you all have a super day.

Good Morning Litty.jpeg Nothing planned here today except waiting to see if the new metal frames arrive today so the builder can be advised. Good thing we are retired and can hang about with this farce with all its disruptions. At least the Front of House Patio is free as The Courtyard, The Dining Patio and The Jungle Room are all off limits plus half the Parking Area is taken up with building stuff! At least the house itself is not affected.

                      Wishing everyone a good day.

                        Good day
It is 45f 6c and not expected to get really warm. Plus the clouds are completely covering the sky and dripping once in awhile. Free water :)

@Victoria I've always thought that contractors got away with murder. Well, murdering timelines as I have never seen a job done by any of them, on time and on budget. Looks like it is the same, the world over! I hope they get on with it and let you have your life back :)

@Upsydaisy I resent it when I have to go out every day. And the appointments seem to always be smack around the middle of the day making it hard to really get into projects before or after.

And that said, I need to go out shopping today. :rolleyespink: Usually our sales flyers begin their new offerings on a Thursday plus one of our major pharmacy chains has a 20% off store wide policy for seniors on a Thursday too.

Have a lovely day. Cheers :coffee:

I have to say we have had a lot of work done here over the years ... renovation of ruin, one extremely large bathroom made into two, three large patios created, plus smaller jobs ... and all were basically on time and on budget. This one is the exception, with timing at least. Project was agreed in December supposedly to happen in February. Don't know about budget as we have not paid one cent yet, quite strange, as normally you pay at least 50% up front..

Good News, the rest of the supports have arrived! Bad News, builders can't come till Monday afternoon!

Oh dear Vicky, I hated dealing with builders and like you have had a lot of work done over the years. We even had to start court proceedings against one after we first moved here. We've also returned home from work to see the wrong doors were fitted...and in one case an outside wall trying to impersonate the leaning Tower of Pisa!!:yikes:.
We got them to knock down and restart again ...under hubs watchful eye. The final builder we had who completed the house ( with hubs) as it stands today has remained a friend and someone we can call on still..30 years later.
We learnt early and never handed over any money until various stages of the build were built and signed off by the Building Regulator. If more materials were needed they had to inform us and we ordered and paid for it ourselves. After our first experience.....we weren't going to have it happen to us again.
We always informed the builders at the initial meeting how things would be done.....if they didn't agree then hard luck, they were swiftly shown the door.:dbgrtmb:
