Hi Vicky, firstly sorry to hear about the builders, so frustrating, I’m loving the bike, I was on it yesterday and will do tomorrow too

 

Good morning, it's nearly the weekend!

We're in for some heavy rain this morning, although it's fine at the moment.
It will give me a chance to catch up on some indoor chores .

I did a fair amount of planting out in two of our main borders yesterday finally., and hope to continue this afternoon.

Quiet day here.

I think we are in this building situation 1) because of material delays, and 2) it is not an emergency, ie, it does not affect our house. We do know the builder, he has been a friend of 25 years to our close friend who recommended him.

I can remember horrors when renovating our Bucks house. The works were done in the midst of winter 1984 and we were working. We had put our cat in the detached garage with a 2000kw oil filled radiator to keep her warm whilst we were at work. We basically lived upstairs in the two bedrooms as the downstairs needed new floors and a dampcourse, plus new bathroom and kitchen. First thing builders did was remove our toilet so we had some kind of seat on a large paint tin. We bathed daily at a friends down the lane. We lived on pot noodles! We came home one day to find the two windows downstairs (leaded three wide each) out ... and all the heaters going full blast because there was snow on the ground and bitterly cold. Our electricity bill that quarter was just short of £900!!!

One thing here is you don't have to serve the workers tea on arrival and every hour thereafter! They drink water and we always offer a beer when they finish end of the day.

Good day,
I've just hauled the recycle and green/food bin to the kerb and made myself a cuppa.

I am going to have a Hilda Ogden morning and hopefully plant out the rest of my seedlings. That will keep me in the back yard so I don't frighten the neighbourhood children. I don't think any of them have ever seen the odd look of an old lady in rollers

This is the long weekend, Victoria Day weekend, and as usual, the guessers have predicted rain on and off so as to make it miserable for campers and firework displays. There are three weekends that fireworks can be heard. This one, Canada Day and Labour Day. And it usually rains on every one of them!

Good morning!
The sun has returned !Yesterday we had a somewhat damp and very breezy day.
I had a day of indoor tasks so today I'm pleased to see that gardening is back on the agenda.

Sorry a little late, my parents have just set off home but we had a good catch up of weeks events .
Well the weather people have got it wrong, last night we where told glorious sunshine today and cloudy Sunday, instead we’ve got heavy cloud today ho well keep hoping, sending big hugs to Vicky, Upsydaisy and Moyra .
Lori how’s the sewing coming along ?
As I’m writing my washer seems to be doing a strange grinding noise I’ll check there’s nothing trapped in the rubber when it stops, wish me luck

@Flumpy I'm glad you had a good visit with your parents. I'm ALWAYS late because of the time difference!

I've been outside instead of at the sewing machines. The guessers say it will rain tomorrow so maybe then I'll get to it.

Good morning Upsydaisy and all, just woke to grey sky, it’s meant to rain from today right through to Thursday , think we may be having breakfast out this am then not sure what we are doing next, can’t do my washing, the washer is stuck with half filled water so there must be a blockage in the pipe somewhere, I will ring someone tomorrow, have a lovely day everyone
