Morning everybody, how are you today?

Yes @Flumpy, ours is growing too. Hubs mowed them before Christmas and did them again last week as well.

Well a bit of housework beckons me first before I make plans for the rest of my day.

We have a weird red glow in the sky over the lakes opposite us this morning, I tried to take a pic but it didn't come out well .

Have a safe and peaceful day.:spinning:

        Good morning everyone ...
We haven't got lawns, I found them a pain to look after so I got rid of them. I'd rather have lots of plants.
I hope your weird red glow isn't a sign of bad weather @Upsydaisy.

            Good day
It is 14f -10c and going to get much colder. We are supposed to be down to 0f -18c with a "real feel" of -18f or -27c - yes, you read that right! Cold. And no, my grass does not seem to be growing at the moment :heehee:

My to do list today is not ambitious. Although I now notice that the humidity in here is very low so it looks like I'll have to add fixing the humidifier on the furnace, to my list. Sometimes it gets clogged so I'm hoping that is all that is wrong. In the meantime, I miss having the grandkids around so I can shuffle and shock them

Have a wonderful day everyone :)

Now that is cold @CanadianLori :frown: I hope you get your humidifier working, too dry air isn't good ...

Yes I am well @Upsydaisy thanks for asking, hope you are also well xx
I'm glad you had a nice walk, it's been mild here to but we've had thick drizzle all day.

I got fed up with being insdie the house so went to local Home Bargains for a cup of coffee and to see some human beings (although I didn't speak to them)
and there's a garden centre there, but disappointingly there were no plants. I suppose they're waiting for the spring ones to come in.

                Good morning everyone..

A tad 'misty' ( very foggy in my terminology) here this morning , I can't see across the lane at all !

Aww bless you Michael, to some degree I know how you feel. On really murky days when I can't do much outside and hubs has taken himself off down to his workshop / garage to do yet another project....I find the quietness almost suffocating! Our lane is so quiet so no chance of hijacking somebody for a natter either.
Most of my friends are like me and we have not yet got back to feeling that comfortable to meet up as we use to in town for a natter over a cuppa or resume our cinema visit.....silly I know but we've all become very wary.

You have a cafe and a gardening section in your Home Bargains!! Wow....we don't , otherwise I would be going down to ours each time hubs got lost in his workshop as our is only 1.5 miles down the road.

If I were nearer we could meet for a coffee, cake and chat.

I know how fortunate I am having my hubs for company , both of my sisters and my brother live alone, and winter days are not easy for them too.

Look after yourself....the days are gradually lengthening and Spring will be here.
Are you getting ready for any seed sowing yet?

Good morning all, cannot seem to get warm this morning. Think I shall have to up the heating a bit. God knows what it is going to cost us, especially when they increase the charges in April.
I hope you all well and keeping safe. Have a good day, God bless.:)

When I go into town I meet up with a couple of mates for coffee, we will only sit outside and probably looks mad especially when we have our hoods up in the rain:old:

                        Good day,
It is still pretty cold -18c or -4f but the guessers have said that it will get a bit warmer. Might even get near to freezing :) @Michael Hewett I can't figure out why the humidifier is not getting the air in the house more humid as the water is flowing correctly. Perhaps it is because I didn't get it properly fixed until just before the thermostat is programmed to lower the temperature overnight which meant the furnace didn't kick in much in the wee hours. I'll keep an eye on. A dry eye on it!

It is cloudy so the batteries won't be getting much input but their use this time of year is pretty much just cosmetic which means, "who cares?".

Have a lovely day all. :dbgrtmb:

Thank you @Upsydaisy it would be nice if we could meet for coffee. I sometimes meet a friend for coffee and we've been for lunch a few times in some local pubs too. She was an
ex-colleague and lives just a few miles away, she became quite friendly with B, and since she is now also on her own we meet up sometimes.
I don't think there's anywhere around here where you can sit outside, but I wouldn't do that anyway, unless the weather was warm ... you could get a chill.

I recently bought some seeds and plants but I'm not going to sow the seeds yet, I wouldn't have anywhere to keep them after they grew so I'll sow them later in the spring. They may flower later but that's all right by me.

I hope you warmed up @moyra, I feel the cold more as I get older, but I have never been a cold weather person anyway, that's why I always prefer rain, it's milder.

I hope you got your humidifier working @CanadianLori ...

@Michael Hewett the humidifier is making all the right noises and the water is flowing through the chamber/mesh properly and the volume is good according to what I'm seeing going down the drain. I've checked to make sure the unit is tight and furnace air is forced through so now I'm thinking it is just a matter of time for the humidity to saturate the house. :fingers crossed: Thank you for asking about it.

You'd think this weird for a Canuck, but I can't stand being cold. I keep the house fairly warm and when I go out, you can be sure that I have lots of layers when it is cold out there!

                                Good day,
It is just getting light now and I see lots of slightly pink tinged clouds up there so I'm guessing we're in for some snow because it has also warmed up to near the freezing mark.

I never got round to laying out any patterns yesterday so instead spent a good part of the day looking for my ambition. MIA. I probably needed a bit of down time anyway.

I did dig out some recipes for chicken pot pie and will be getting the ingredients together today. I have a friend coming for lunch tomorrow and I believe it would make a nice belly warmer meal.

                                Have a lovely day all.
                                Cheers
                                Lori
