We didn't go in the end.
I'm not! It could be months seriously. I'll keep you posted.

The sun is out here but there is a horrible gusty wind so we didn't sit out this evening like we usually do ... and I have put a sweater on!!!

            Good day,
I forgot to post today. :old:?? It is a beautiful day here light breezes and sunny. 78f at the moment.

I made a new cover for the central air conditioner which fits a lot tighter, is the proper length and has venting to keep high winds from blowing it off in the winter. My arms are a little achy as I used heavy naugahyde.

And of course when I put it on, there was a nasty 7 or so inches around it's perimeter where the old cover had literally scraped away the grass. So I mixed a bunch of good garden soil and grass seed and patched it.

I've done today's laundry, baking and tidying and will putter around out there until cocktail time!

            Cheers :coffee:

              Morning everyone.:)

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the bank hols.

Been really busy again yesterday tackling Heucheras that have been growing madly for some strange reason. I been digging them up and splitting them. I now have a ton of rooted sections that I am finding hard to add to the compost bin.

Hate having to throw good plants away.

I have a load more to do today. At least when they're all thinned out I'll have more planting spaces. :dbgrtmb:

              Have a lovely day.

                Bom Dia Heart.jpeg Everyone.

@Flumpy We haven't been on holiday since 2012, so ten years. Portimao is about 30 minutes from us. Beaches are 20 minutes South of us and the mountain less than 20 minutes North of us.

Nothing particularly planned here for me, enjoy the outdoors for a few hours. T'other Half will no doubt work on one of the projects he has started.

                Have a peaceful Sunday.

Just had a long soak in the tub and washed my hair now T'other Half is doing the same ... our Sunday ritual! It is very relaxing. Bath.jpeg

I don't have anything to do in the garden today except sit and enjoy the fruits of my labour over the the years. We have lived in this house for 21 years but owned it for 25 years which is when I started the garden from scratch. Later this afternoon we will sit out and I will have a Rum and Coke.
Hope you have a Sunday Mouse.jpeg whatever you do indoors.

PS Please send me some of your rain in exchange for some sun.

                        Good day
Another Sunday morning of puttering and then in the afternoon, meeting some friends at the pub for an hour.

@Victoria I too shall be washing my hair again today and doing my Hilda Ogden impersonation while Corrie is airing.

@Upsydaisy I find "tacking heucheras" hilarious. Mine is 3 years old and the mound is about 15" diameter and 5" tall. I guess our winters save my back!

@Flumpy right on, who needs a vacations when a staycation has it all!

Now to read the news and wakey wakey!

                        Cheers :coffee:

Lori my trouble seems to be that certain ones 'heave ' and need to be dug up and sorted out, like you I have some large clumps too. I have noticed though that it seems to be the ' marmalade' coloured ones that seem more prone to heaving, despite all being planted in the same way in the same soil.

                            Good morning .

I haven't had much time to catch up on the forum of late it's usually a quick ' hello' first thing and an occasional look in while having a cuppa throughout the day.

I think I can see light at the end of the tunnel now, but to be honest what else would I want to be doing? It's providing me with fresh air and plenty of exercise in a very pleasurable way.

Last year I had no choice but to let things go a bit and it was then that I decided to make things a little easier in the future...but not too easy ;).

I like to have meals and coffee/tea breaks outside and to sit for a while and read but I much prefer undertaking little gardening tasks really.:dbgrtmb:

I hope to catch up with all that's been going on with everyone very soon. So apologies to you if I have not read or acknowledged your posts lately.

                            Have a lovely day.

                              Flowers3.jpeg Good morning all.

It is a gorgeous day with a sunny, breezy start.

T'other Half is going to the DIY this morning so he can continue with one of his projects.

This afternoon we have the man coming to replace the screen mesh in our kitchen door and put them in the two bathrooms. He did the originals years ago. He will also measure to quote for the new Baffa/Garden Room windows.

I will do nada, well my usual morning cycling then puttering.

                                Good day,
We had several days of mid 70's temps with sunshine as a bonus and now we are getting some free water. All is good.

@Victoria I'm surprised to hear about your getting screen mesh. I was beginning to think that I was the only member on this forum who has screens on their windows! Mine are on all of my windows and I pull them out in the winter to let more light in and also, obviously, there are no insects flying around at that time.

I have things on my to do list that I should get to but for some reason, I'm just not yet motivated. More tea will probably help.

@Upsydaisy I have lots of days where I'm just too "into" getting things done that I only check in when I come in to get a fresh cuppa or whatever. The length of time it takes for the kettle to boil is perfect for checking in. It is a forum, not a job. There are no punch cards :blue thumb:

                                Cheers :coffee:
