    Good day
Oh @Upsydaisy I hope the doctor gets your brother sorted really quickly.

I've got a busy morning as the drapery rods arrived last night and I need to string/dress them before taking them to put up and then hang and steam the drapes.

And then I'm finished work for at least 2 weeks :)

I've always tried to be accommodating with contractors however. Depends on who it is as to whether I would provide lunch though.

    Cheers all :coffee:

Of all construction workers the worst are plumbers and electricians.
          Not wanting to upset anyone.

But they always seem to arrive without the bits to do the job, this then always involves a trip to the local trade outlet to get the odds and ends, usually involves a coffee and a burger on the way.

They arrive in a van but it appears to hold hardly anything regarding getting the job done.

Electricians just appear to wander around with a meter for the first two hours and the full tool kit of two different types of screwdriver and wire stripper.

          ;):biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Still waiting for news, the Dr was supposedly going to see him. As my younger sister is his Power Of Attorney for both his financial and health and wellbeing she gets the updates and then updates us.
The Dr did say that he still can't have visitors yet...that we do know for sure.

Not being able to visit is upsetting too ...

My builders are father and son, they live literally around the corner. I can see the back of their house from my garden. They've done things for me over many years and I trust them completely.
They can do most things - electrical, plumbing, they put a new gas boiler in for me once and a new gas fire. They get their work approved by an inspector when they've completed a job.

With this build they send for a buildings inspector every so often and he makes sure they've kept to the building regulations and he has said their work is excellent. They do everything to perfection.
They don't take any breaks even though I've told them they should, so I don't mind making drinks for them. They have some sandwiches but only take a few minutes to eat them.

It's so hot here I can't sleep :frown: I hope you all have a good night ... :snooze:

                        Good morning.:)

Still not clear what's going on with my brother. We don't know if he even saw a Dr yesterday, they did log on his care sheet that he seemed a bit better in the afternoon and had some soup. Hopefully we'll find out more today ,I'll also try video calling...that's if he answers it.

Pacing myself with the housework, today it's downstairs.. It's getting done slowly but surely. Son and his girlfriend are coming down on Friday evening , it should be done by then.:fingers crossed:

Friday hubs and I are off to the cinema in the morning ,then home for lunch then back out to do a grocery shop., So Friday is out for being able to do any tasks really. Everything takes longer too in this heat.

Anyway that's my plan, what are yours?

Enjoy your day whatever they are.:)

Thank you @Michael Hewett ,yes it's not nice being unable to visit him. That's why we hope he answers the video calls that we all try and do with him, but he doesn't always. You can only really gauge a person's wellbeing by actually seeing them.....words are never enough.

Yes we've just survived a very stifling and muggy night down here too, we have woken to a lovely breeze this morning.

It sounds like you have good trustworthy builders, our last lot were/ are very good too and we've now known the 'boss man' for 39 years...he's our ' go to' person when we need work done now.

                          Enjoy your day. :)xxx

It is a quiet, muggy start to the day.

Haven't heard how all the fire incidents are, will go through the Portuguese news later and hope they have most under control. We don't get the Portuguese channels on the bedroom TV and we were watching the news live yesterday.

Just a normal day here today.
